This is a cafe located just a few seconds walk from Asakusabashi Station West Exit. I've been curious about it for a while and finally tried it out. ★Visited on Sunday at 10:45 am★Ordered the Sandwich Set for 450 yen. The cafe is run by an older couple, maybe a man and a woman. The woman was friendly and provided good service with a lively attitude. Their morning menu is available until 11 am, with several options to choose from for 450 yen including a drink. This time I tried the sandwich, but the mayonnaise was too strong for my taste. Next time, I might go for a simple toast instead. Thank you for the meal~

The café under the Asakusabashi Station with a stylish exterior. Inside, it has a very cozy atmosphere more like a traditional coffee shop than a café. Intrigued by the posted photos, I ordered the hamburger steak rice for lunch. The retro touch of the dressing for the side salad being served in a basket was charming. The hamburger steak itself seemed to be microwaved, considering the price, it was decent. The gratin-style potatoes and soup that came with it were delicious. The kitchen visible at the time of payment had a somewhat old-fashioned look, but overall considering the location, price, and taste, it was alright. It seemed like people working nearby occasionally came to buy bento boxes, creating a warm and cozy café atmosphere.

I visited a cafe under the elevated tracks near Asakusabashi Station around 3:00 PM, and there were no other customers. I ordered "H Coffee and homemade pudding," which came with canned mandarin oranges. The "H Coffee" was surprisingly rich and delicious. Thank you for the meal, and thank you very much.

I found a café near my workplace in Tokyo and was surprised by the price. The cost performance is great. The bread is also delicious. I had thick toast with butter and honey on top. It really boosted my motivation before work.

At Asakusabashi, you can find a set menu where you can choose from gratin, doria, or baked curry with omurice. There is also the option to choose a lemon sour for your drink. The beer is also reasonably priced. The omurice has creamy eggs and delicious ketchup rice. The dessert pudding comes with fruit on top, making it enjoyable. Even though it was quiet after 1 o'clock, solo customers were forced to sit at the counter or share a table with others.

Occasionally, I like to explore morning activities before work, so this time I tried out the cafe "Umenoki" located under the gate in Asakusabashi. I visited around 8:30 am on a weekday. The menu book on the table is a fancy style with homemade A4 paper in a clear book. The menu includes a variety of options from meals to desserts. Among them, there are about 8 types of morning menu items. After some hesitation, I ordered No.3, which was a 'Ham Sandwich/Orange Juice set for 450 yen'. The juice and ham sandwich arrived in about 5 minutes. As you can see in the photo, there are no side dishes, just a very simple meal. The ham sandwich was made with sliced ham and spicy mustard mayo, giving it a homemade feel that enhanced its deliciousness. It was so tasty! I finished the 4 pieces of sandwich in no time. The orange juice was slightly sweet, which I enjoyed. The entrance is on the right side, with stairs leading to the second floor, but I sat on the first floor. There were counter seats facing the wall in the front, and counter seats facing the kitchen in the back. In the back, regular customers were chatting with the owner. It seemed to be a family-run business with a very cozy and friendly atmosphere.

I arrived at Asakusabashi Station at 7:30 am and was surprised to find a cute cafe called "CAFE Umenoki" open under the bridge. I usually associate Asakusabashi with evenings, so this was unexpected. I quickly entered and found a cozy atmosphere with only a few customers. I ordered the morning set A, which was served hot and was perfect for the slightly chilly weather. It was a pleasant surprise.

Before going to work, I decided to stop by for breakfast. Upon entering, I was told I could sit on either the first or second floor. I chose the second floor, where I was the only customer - quite rare for cafes around here. However, I noticed that there were no ashtrays, so smokers should be cautious. I quickly ordered thick toast with iced coffee. The menu also offered a choice of jam or honey, and I opted for honey. When my order arrived, I was surprised to see that it was just the toast and coffee - I had mistakenly thought it was a set with a drink included. Nevertheless, the honey was delicious. It was a good reminder for me to always double-check when visiting a new place. I finished my meal and it was satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a cafe called "CAFE Umenoki" near Asakusabashi Station around 11 am on a day in June 2022. There was only one customer on the first floor when I arrived. I sat at the counter and ordered the "Hamburger Steak Rice" for ¥820 after looking at the menu. The dish arrived after about 7-8 minutes, consisting of a hamburger steak topped with red wine sauce and a fried egg, gratin, salad, and rice, accompanied by a rich corn potage soup. The hamburger steak was juicy and went well with the red wine sauce. The gratin was enjoyable with its combination of potatoes and cheese, although it seemed a bit pre-made. I savored the plate, alternating between the hamburger and rice, while enjoying the salad with the red wine sauce. The corn potage soup was quite sweet and flavorful. Overall, the meal was a satisfying blend of flavors, despite the slightly small portion of rice. It was a typical lunch at a cafe serving Western-style dishes. Although the portion size left something to be desired, "CAFE Umenoki" is a convenient and casual option for a quick lunch near the station.

When looking at the menu, there are so many types of sandwiches available. I ordered my favorite one: Ham and Egg Mayonnaise Hot Sandwich with a choice of black tea (no lemon) for 430 yen. The tea was served piping hot in a cup, just the way I like it. The hot sandwich looked appetizing with a combination of ham and egg, and it was the type where the crust of the bread was cut off. The ham and egg spilling out when you take a bite is a classic combination. I was so absorbed in eating it. The casual atmosphere of the restaurant, run by what seemed like a family, was much more comfortable than a trendy cafe. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely come back.

Under the Asakusabashi bridge, there is a café. Upon entering, the cheerful greeting of "Welcome!" immediately puts you at ease. There are seats on both the first and second floors, and I chose to sit on the second floor. As I perused the menu, I noticed they had curry rice, but what caught my eye was the option of "Yaki Curry" as part of the omelette rice set. This item wasn't on the regular menu. I asked the staff about it, and they kindly explained that it's a smaller portion of curry served with the set, and if I preferred, they could make a full portion for the same price as the doria. I opted for the set, which included salad, soup, and a drink, all for 850 yen - a great deal. The Yaki Curry turned out to be curry poured over rice, topped with cheese and baked. The curry itself was homey, with added sausages, corn, and pumpkin, giving it a satisfying twist. The cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and wallet-friendly prices make this a wonderful little café.

I am currently decluttering by selling unused items on Mercari, and recently sold a 10-year-old MacBook for 30,000 yen, which I consider valuable to others. Speaking of value, in mahjong, having all the honor tiles (East, South, West, North, White, Green, Red) in your hand forms the winning hand of "Kokushimuso," while discarding all your tiles results in a "Rinshan Kaihou." The debate over whether to surgically remove or treat acute appendicitis with medication still remains inconclusive. Similarly, there are beliefs about trees, like how cutting a cherry blossom tree is considered foolish, while not cutting another type of tree is seen as foolish. Today's morning was spent at Cafe Ume no Ki, where I enjoyed their pancake breakfast. The clean and cozy atmosphere was welcoming, and the pancake, ham and eggs, salad, and coffee were all satisfying. The fluffy hotcakes with maple syrup and cream were a delightful combination, complemented by the variety of condiments available. Adding soy sauce to the sunny-side-up eggs and South Island dressing to the salad enhanced the flavors, creating a perfect balance of sweet and savory. The rich coffee further elevated the dining experience. Despite the short morning visit, I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious meal and look forward to trying other items on the menu in the future.

It all started with an email from my drinking buddies. They sent a photo of an omelette rice that looked delicious and asked if I knew the restaurant "Ume no Ki." I replied that I vaguely remembered seeing it in a magazine before, and that it used to be a quaint coffee shop but now seemed to have transformed into a trendy place in Asakusabashi. I hadn't visited the area in a while, so I assumed the restaurant had been renovated to keep up with the times, possibly reflecting the opinions of the son of the original owners. When I arrived, I was surprised to find an elderly couple running the place, and they kindly recommended the second floor for seating. The interior decoration of the restaurant seemed to reflect the couple's warm personalities, creating a cozy atmosphere. The menu offered morning sets, Western-style lunches, and cakes and drinks in the afternoon. I ordered the omelette rice set, which came with salad and soup, all for under 1000 yen. When I cracked open the egg, I was surprised to find the rice had a dark brown color, likely from being fried with minced meat. The seasoning was a mix of soy sauce or demi-glace sauce, giving it a savory flavor that paired well with the sweet ketchup-covered egg.

Morning light set (430) at the café under the Asakusabashi station, Umekinoko, for a rare breakfast of bread. While waiting for the coffee to arrive, I read the baseball articles that had just started in the Nikkan Sports newspaper. The honey toast paired well with the bitter coffee.

There are more and more profit-driven shops offering shaved ice and pancakes, and they keep getting bigger and more expensive. I can't help but wonder if people really want to eat so much of them (especially since I get tired of flour-based foods). At this plum tree, they had something called "petit pancakes." So I ordered the petit pancake set (550 yen) and chose coffee as my drink. The coffee was a dark roast and too strong for me to drink black. The petit pancakes were really small. They came with maple syrup, condensed milk, and whipped cream. The pancakes themselves looked a bit sloppy, but their small size was just right.

The omurice at this restaurant is a mix between homemade and famous restaurant styles, with a nostalgic feel. The ketchup rice is slightly more flavorful and goes well with the fluffy eggs. The eggs are fluffy and provide a nice accent to the dish. I used to eat here every other week when my workplace was nearby. Even though my workplace is now farther away, I still stop by occasionally after work. If you like slightly more flavorful omurice, why not give it a try?

Honestly, it's a retro-style cafe that looks a bit stylish but hasn't changed much from the Showa era. The second floor is non-smoking. Breakfast ends at 10 o'clock, but the light meals are cheap, so even if you get a variety of sandwiches with your drink, it's around 600 yen, which is reasonable. Lunch starts at 11 o'clock, so why not extend breakfast until 11 o'clock and offer a mix of sandwiches instead of the same one? How about a tuna sandwich and iced coffee for 600 yen? The sandwiches and iced coffee are just okay.

August 9, 2019. It's been scorching hot for consecutive days. Doing business outside in this season is really tough haha. Taking a break before visiting the last client next week. Entered the shop at 3:30 PM, no customers on the first floor. It seemed like the second floor was non-smoking, so I went upstairs where there were two other customers. Sat at a table and ordered without hesitation, red bean shaved ice for 500 yen. It was served in 5 minutes. It looked delicious with plenty of red bean paste on top. I've come to prefer shaved ice over ice cream as I've gotten older. There was also red bean paste inside, which helped with my sugar intake. I left satisfied and full. Thank you for the meal.

To the best of my knowledge, this café has been in business for 30 years. Nearby cafés were charging 400 yen back then, but even now, 350 yen per cup is still cheap. I visited after a long time, and it seems like they renovated after the seismic work. Everything from the interior was new. However, the age group of the customers still seems to be quite high. I think this may be influenced by the nearby Doutor and McDonald's that have opened up.

A two-story coffee shop located under the elevated tracks at Asakusabashi Station. The first floor is counter seating only and smoking is allowed. So, I went up the stairs to the non-smoking second floor. Despite the not-so-appealing visuals of the menu photos, I decided to order the following (lol): ★Pudding a la mode (500 yen) It also comes with a drink set for 750 yen, but I only had about 20 minutes, so I ordered it by itself. And here it is. Yeah, the visuals are just as expected (lol). The pudding is very creamy and smooth. It's not the kind you would find in a bottle, it's much softer. I personally love this kind of pudding, and the taste is delicious. The fruits are all from a can, although there are only two types - mandarin oranges and yellow peaches (lol). The vanilla ice cream and cream taste like the good old days. The pudding a la mode may not look very appealing visually, but I'm satisfied with the pudding. It would have been nice to have a bit more color from the fruits, maybe even some cherries. About seven years ago, someone wrote a review of the pudding a la mode, and it was cheaper back then, with fresh fruits like kiwi used. It's nice to discover a new pudding a la mode. There's a poster that says, "Why not practice playing the guitar while enjoying coffee from 7:30 to 8:30 on weekdays?" and there's a guitar available. Since there's no price listed, I wonder if it's free. I don't know the details, but it sounds like fun.
