I visited a restaurant with a polite uncle who always cleans my apartment meticulously. It was my second time there, probably. As soon as I looked at the menu, I was shocked by the prices. Embarrassingly, I didn't even know it was a beef tongue restaurant, I thought it was like a family restaurant such as Ootoya. I ended up ordering the "shiro tan set" for 1,550 yen, but it turns out the beef is imported from the UK, Australia, and Ireland, so the price may increase further in the future. Now, about the shiro tan. At Negishi, they call the tender part close to the base of the tongue "shiro tan," but I think it's generally known as the base of the tongue. So it's definitely a rare cut, but whether it's delicious or not is a different matter. Looking back, I probably would have been more satisfied if I had just ordered a pork loin or hamburger steak set.

However, at this restaurant, while the food was delicious, the customer service was not as good compared to other locations. Firstly, getting a refill of rice required calling out for it, and even then, it took multiple attempts for it to be brought over, creating a somewhat unpleasant atmosphere. Additionally, it seemed that they were running out of beef tongue, as I witnessed someone being told they couldn't order it. This not only affected the beef tongue set but also other menu items, leaving some customers disappointed. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Harajuku with my artist friend to buy costumes for a live performance. We decided to have lunch at Gyuutan Negishi. We arrived around 3:00 pm and were happy to find out that the lunch menu was available until 4:00 pm. We ordered the Ganko-chan set for ¥1100, which included thinly sliced beef tongue (6 pieces, 12 slices). The lunch set was discounted by ¥100. The barley rice was delicious and we could have free refills. The beef tongue soup with finely chopped green onions was also tasty, making us want more. The grated yam was not very sticky, but the beef tongue was thinly sliced, allowing us to savor each bite. I felt like I got a great deal. This was my second visit to the Harajuku branch, and I love the clean and spacious interior with high windows letting in beautiful sunlight. I met my uncle, who has been running an apparel company in Tokyo, in Harajuku after a long time. We didn't have much time, so we decided to meet at the nearby Negishi restaurant. They are known for their delicious white and red beef tongue. We ordered the beef tongue platter set with three types of tongue for 2,100 yen, and added four pieces of white tongue for 1,800 yen and four pieces of red tongue (Ganko-chan) for 600 yen. The set comes with pickles, soup, barley, grated yam, and rice. Overall, I think it's a good choice for lunch.

The prices are a bit high, but because it's delicious, I personally think it deserves even higher praise.

The long-awaited Negishi...!!! I saw Comdot eating it and wanted to go there ^_^❤️ It's not available in Kansai, so I'm really sad... It was extremely delicious. I will definitely go again.
