It was a bit late, but I wanted to eat something light, so I decided to drop by this place. They offer various ingredients from the Japan Sea side like firefly squid, mozuku seaweed, and white shrimp. I had water eggplant, yuba, sweetfish tempura, and white shrimp tempura with a little bit of sake. The location was good so the prices were reasonable, but everything was delicious. I would like to try their course menu next time. Thank you for the meal!

The price is reasonable✨ The sashimi assortment, firefly squid with vinegar miso, grilled rock oysters, rolled omelette, spring cabbage with bamboo shoots, grilled golden threadfin bream with salt, we got carried away and ordered too much. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the grilling was excellent. There are no disappointments no matter what you eat! I will visit again!

My partner and I made a reservation for two at the request of my partner. It was my birthday, so they prepared a seat by the window with a view of the cherry blossoms. We had a sashimi platter with fatty tuna, shrimp, sweet shrimp, fish bones, firefly squid... It was delicious, although it was a shame that there was no sea urchin. The crispy seafood salad had a lot of octopus and was delicious. We also had tempura with shrimp and bamboo shoots. I really enjoyed the shabu-shabu of flatfish, even though I was already full. We had two highballs each and some other drinks. The staff were a bit busy, so they didn't come when we called them, and they seemed to have forgotten our tea-cured rice dish at the end. When we mentioned it, the server said they didn't have any rice. Despite that, I would still rate it 4.0.

On the night of January 2, 2023, I visited the popular restaurant "Kijin Raito" in Kiyamachi, which was opened by the first-generation owner of the once famous "Kitokito" restaurant in Kitayama 12 or 13 years ago. The restaurant is completely non-smoking. I sat at the end of the counter and started with a draft beer and appetizers of daikon-zushi, squid, mibuna (potherb mustard), and ikura (salmon roe). I enjoyed dishes like the fresh "shindoro squid" from Hokuriku, large amberjack sashimi with amberjack toro, and the delicious "makajiki toro" with octopus. I also savored the seared nodoguro sashimi, black wagyu beef and kuruma-fu sukiyaki with Noto sea urchin, paired with Chardonnay, Tengu Mai, Tedorigawa, and Kikuhime cloudy sake. After indulging in the food and drinks, I strolled along the Takase River before returning to the hotel feeling content. While everything at Kijin Raito is delicious, it's important to remember to moderate your consumption of both food and sake to avoid a hefty bill.

I visited Kyoto to meet up with friends and they took me out for dinner. I got to try unique ingredients like noresore (baby conger eel) and whale bacon. The adult atmosphere of the food is unique to Kyoto, making it a great place for a casual drink as well.

You really have great fish here. The location is nice, the ingredients are good, and the prices are fair, so I think it's suitable for business scenes or taking important people. The head chef may look a bit scary at first, but he has a kind face when he smiles, and he is a wonderful person. The delicious side dishes and Kanazawa's sake are the best, right? I will definitely visit again.

I arrived in Kyoto in the evening. When I called my usual Gion restaurant, they said they would be closed until after Golden Week. I was at a loss for dinner. I wandered around Shijo and found a nice looking restaurant. The owner, originally from Kanazawa, sources fresh fish and vegetables directly from Kanazawa and serves dishes that reflect the charm of Kanazawa. Surprisingly, we have a family connection with the restaurant I was originally planning to go to. Grateful for the serendipity. I tried firefly squid shabu-shabu for the first time. I was curious about it, but it was surprisingly satisfying and delicious. It must have been high-quality firefly squid. There were many other dishes as well. Kanazawa sake was also delicious. I found another great restaurant in Kyoto.

I heard that the fish is delicious at this place with a great atmosphere, so I decided to visit. Kyoto really has a mix of hits and misses, and the ratings on Tabelog aren't always reliable. However, this restaurant was really delicious. The atmosphere and the attitude of the staff were great. I'm not sure about the bill, but it shouldn't be too expensive. Thank you for the meal. I would like to visit again.

I wanted to eat delicious fish and drink sake with fish as a side dish, so I headed to a narrow street in Shijo where there were no tourists, only locals. I enjoyed grilled fugu shirako, sashimi of saba, and grilled negi from Shimotsuma. Hot sake is perfect for cold nights. Tonight, I had shochu with hot water.

A friend introduced me to a restaurant in Kitayama, Kyoto. I met my middle school homeroom teacher there. The place had paintings by an artist I had previously written about on my blog. The sashimi platter and grilled yellowtail were delicious, though not quite up to the level of Kitagawa's work. They also served vegetables, and the atmosphere was cozy. The pork miso soup and rice topped with egg were cooked in a clay pot and were satisfactory. A classmate will be going to Turkey from January onwards.

At night in Kyoto, we went to a restaurant we found on Tabelog, only to discover it served Kanazawa cuisine! The interior was nice and each dish was delicious, but the prices were high. We were the only customers at 7 pm on a Saturday, which made us worry. We ended up leaving after just trying a few dishes, as we were looking for Kyoto cuisine. The food wasn't bad, though!
