While strolling around Asakusa, I felt like eating some refreshing cold soba, so I visited this place for the first time on a Sunday around 2 PM. I had the cold soba with mountain vegetables, and my companion had the cold soba with duck. The cold soba with mountain vegetables had too many toppings, making the portion quite large and the flavor balance a bit off, but it was still delicious and refreshing. There are many restaurants with "Chosuan" in their name, but I'm not sure about the relationship between them and this one. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely visit again.

I came to Asakusa and wanted to eat soba, so I chose this place. I arrived at the restaurant around 5:30 pm and was able to get a table right away. The atmosphere of the restaurant is welcoming and I think it would be comfortable to visit with anyone. I ordered kitsune soba and mori soba, both of which were delicious. I think I spent around 1000 yen per person.

The seating on the first floor is not very large, but subsequent customers were taken to the second floor. I didn't peek, but I wonder if it's spacious up there. I had natto soba with wasabi pickles and bottled beer here. It was a happy moment when I broke the soft-boiled egg and mixed it in. Thank you for the meal.

I had lunch at a soba restaurant behind Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. I was intrigued by the sign saying "Handmade Soba," so I decided to go in. It was a traditional soba restaurant, probably run by a family. It was a sunny day and I was sweating a bit, so I couldn't decide whether to have cold or hot soba. After some thought, I ordered the Curry Soba for 950 yen. The curry soba had a delicious taste with a hint of dashi. I considered adding rice, but decided against it as I had plans for dinner later. I asked the staff about the hand-milled soba, and they explained that they first knead the soba flour and water by hand, then stretch and cut it with a machine. That's how they make hand-milled soba. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

I used it for dinner. It gave me the impression of a nostalgic and calming soba restaurant! There were various menu options and after some consideration, I ordered the tempura soba, which was very delicious. I will definitely use it again next time! I wonder what I should eat next time ☺️

I felt like eating soba after a long time, so I visited this restaurant along the main street for lunch. The menu offered mori soba starting from 600 yen, and it mentioned that the difference between mori and zaru soba is the soup. I wanted to eat a lot of soba, so I ordered the large zaru soba (900 yen). The soba was thin and long, with not much aroma. The soba broth was slightly sweet. Lastly, I had soba-yu, which was a light type of soba water.

At the entrance of Oku Asakusa, a cozy and user-friendly soba restaurant that is likely loved by local residents. Known for its warm dishes, the nabe-yaki udon in the photo was delicious and I finished it all. The service is friendly and has a homely yet clean atmosphere, making it a place I personally want to visit frequently.

I visited Chojuan for the first time because they were still open after 11 o'clock. I ordered the Mori Soba (600 yen). Other customers were ordering warm soba. When my Mori Soba arrived, it was very generous in portion but lacked flavor and aroma. I think I should have ordered the warm soba instead. The soba broth was light and the wasabi was in powder form. The soba water was also thin.

Asakusa Kuimono @ Asakusa Longevity An
It took a while for various reasons, and it was around 3:00 p.m. There are few restaurants serving late lunch, so I went for a walk to find one. I found a restaurant called "Longevity An," which is an old-fashioned place with a wide variety of menu items including udon, soba, rice bowls, and oden. I ordered the "Miso Nabe Udon," which had a small amount of meat or none at all, but plenty of green onions as toppings. The noodles were soft, different from the firm noodles typically found in Nagoya-style udon. The soup was light, but the flavor of miso was strong. Personally, I prefer Nagoya-style udon, but this was good in its own way.

I had always been curious about the soba restaurant I often passed by. That day, I was in a hurry so I had the mori soba. There seemed to be seating on the second floor as well. The interior of the restaurant is not very spacious, so it was a good idea to go during off-peak hours. They have a wide variety of menu options, so I would like to visit this restaurant again.

On cold days when it's snowing and everything is shrinking, there's nothing better than having a hot pot of udon noodles to warm up your body and soul. The chicken breast is plentiful, and the fish cakes are crispy and delicious! The broth has a gentle flavor that makes it a great place for regular visits.

At Omori Soba, the soba noodles are thin and chewy, and the broth is not too sweet with a strong dashi flavor. Adding soba water makes it milder and allows you to enjoy a different taste.

Duck meat and meatballs in a steaming basket. When you order the large size, the soba noodles come in two tiers so you can eat a lot. The dipping sauce was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Mori soba (buckwheat noodles) in large size for 750 yen at Ura Kannon is a typical local soba shop in the town. The noodles are thin, which I like, and the portion is generous, making it a good value. The broth is surprisingly not too spicy for Tokyo standards. I will definitely come back again.

I was just looking for a quick bite to eat and stumbled upon this soba restaurant. Since I was short on time, I ordered the Oomori size only. It took quite a while for the order to arrive. The soba broth was, well, lacking in bonito flavor and aroma. The soba noodles themselves seemed overcooked and not well tightened with cold water. To be honest, at this level of quality, there are many standing soba shops that surpass this one. Looking around, I noticed a fancy building nearby. Is it a case of rise and fall? No, it seems like the surrounding competition has improved.
