Visited Ecute Shinagawa for some shopping and decided to buy some sweets to take home. It was my first time visiting this shop, which specializes in traditional Japanese sweets created by a famous patissier. Their rusk is well-known, but this time I bought the "Ultimate Cheese" and "Butter Sand Lemon" treats. The Ultimate Cheese had a slightly crispy texture and a great cheese flavor. The Butter Sand had a strong lemon cream acidity that I really enjoyed. Both were delicious, of course.

Next week, I am going to see an acquaintance's watercolor painting exhibition, so I was looking for tea snacks to bring as a gift at Shinagawa Station. I found these snacks that come in individual packaging, are easy to eat, and are not sold near my house. I bought a set of 5 different types, with 2 pieces each, for 1400 yen. I also bought one for my home as a souvenir. When I got home, I tried the Japanese-style rusk and the Amaou strawberry rusk as a snack. The crispy texture and the perfect level of sweetness are elegant and delightful.

"Located in Ecute Shinagawa, this sweets shop is run by Chef Tsujiguchi, I think. I was craving something sweet on the Shinkansen, so I stopped by. I tried the 'Shuzhou Salt Choux Cream' for 360 yen. It had a salty flavor that added an interesting twist to the sweetness of the cream puff. To be honest, I don't remember much about it (^_^;) Thank you for the meal."

I came across it and couldn't resist buying it... Dassai chocolate!! They only had matcha flavor, but the packaging with 2 pieces is irresistibly nice. However, the price is definitely Dassai price haha. It's the price of a lunch in Tamachi haha. Sometimes, indulging in such luxuries is nice, right?

- Mont Blanc ☆4
Fluffy texture. Pure white paste. When you take a bite, you can taste the authentic Mont Blanc flavor, with the richness of white chocolate spreading. The combination of chestnut and white chocolate is surprisingly good, with a nice balance of fluffy texture and the crunchy biscuit at the bottom. The chestnut paste in the middle gives a warm, chestnut sweet potato-like feeling. A new sensation but delicious and refined Mont Blanc.
- Basque Extreme Cheese from Kurenaiya ☆3.5
It's solid and fluffy when you eat it. It's rich and luxurious, but not necessarily something you'd want to eat all the time.

I purchased Tsujiguchi sweets at the Wagakumokuya in Shinagawa Eki E.C. Both the Snowflake and Mont Blanc are Mont Blanc desserts, but the Snowflake is a white Mont Blanc. Instead of chestnut cream, it has chestnut mousse, paste, and glace inside whipped cream, with a crispy sable cookie base providing a nice texture contrast. The regular Mont Blanc is also quite good, with chestnut cream on top and glace on top in a more traditional style. It also has a chocolate-coated cookie at the bottom for a different texture.

First visit to a confectionery shop at Ecute Shinagawa. I was intrigued by a child in the poster for "Mont Blanc is Art" event at Ecute Shinagawa from September 27th to October 17th, so I came to buy it. I also wanted to try the "Kairo" Ohagi Mont Blanc, but unfortunately it was already sold out. Oh well, I'll just stick to my first goal. The Mont Blanc with Japanese chestnut and pear (1000 yen) consists of Japanese chestnut cream, mascarpone flavored cream, pear compote, pear jelly, and tart base. First, the visual presentation is amazing! Looks very appealing! Visuals are important for sweets. However, the taste... The flavor of the chestnut cream (brown cube) is missing. It's not very fragrant or rich for Japanese chestnut. On the other hand, the pear compote is delicious. The tart base with a hint of liquor is also not bad. So, the overall impression when eating is tart base > pear > chestnut. Honestly, hmm... I prefer Mont Blanc where chestnut stands out the most. By the way, I found out after purchasing that this shop is supervised by the world-renowned patissier Tsujiguchi. I see! The Foret Noire I bought from the main store also had a detailed visual presentation. I really like the visual presentation of Tsujiguchi's cakes. As for the price, well, it's expected to be expensive at a station shop.

Sweets shop located inside Ecute Shinagawa Station. Visited for a snack on a weekday. The Foodlog rating at the time of the visit was 3.32 (July 2021). This shop offers "Japanese sweets" incorporating elements of Japanese cuisine by the renowned patissier Hiroshi Tsujiguchi. While they were not selling salt cream puffs this time, I purchased the Shinagawa Butter Sand - Rum Azuki Bean (360 yen), a product that requires refrigeration. The Shinagawa Butter Sand - Rum Azuki Bean costs 360 yen for one piece, but it is relatively small in size. However, you can see quite a lot of rum azuki beans peeking out from the buttercream. The sandwich sablé has a crispy and satisfying texture. Among the moist biscuit-like butter sandwiches, I could feel the difference and personally liked it. The rum-soaked azuki beans blend seamlessly, with a soft texture that integrates well with the cream. The buttercream has a good melt-in-your-mouth texture and just the right amount of sweetness, giving off an elegant vibe. This butter sandwich left a good impression, and I would like to purchase it again. Thank you for the meal.

At Tokyo Station... It was a little while ago, but my relatives went to a wedding in Tokyo. The wedding had been postponed several times due to the pandemic, but they finally decided to go ahead with it. Since they had come all the way to Tokyo, they brought back some souvenirs. One of them was the sweets from "Warakubenyaya." Upon opening the box, I found their famous "Shinagawa Butter Sand" inside! There were 5 pieces in the box. The "Shinagawa Butter Sand" consists of a butter cream sandwiched between sablé cookies, with rum-soaked adzuki beans in the middle. The sweetness and richness of the butter cream were quite addictive. There was also the "Rum Adzuki Matcha Sand," a variation of the butter sand. This one had matcha in both the cream and the sablé. By the way, it seems that the "Shinagawa Butter Sand" is a limited edition only available at Shinagawa Station... It was delicious. 2021.08 on Tabelog with a rating of 3.32 points.

Every year during Valentine's season, the event "Amour du Chocolat" is held at Nagoya JR Takashimaya, boasting the highest sales in Japan. This year, due to the impact of the coronavirus, "Amour du Chocolat 2021" was held with a focus on online sales. While it is nice to see and taste the products in person, the event tends to be very crowded. Therefore, the enhanced online sales this year were a good initiative. However, popular items were harder to purchase online due to high demand. One of the items I purchased this year was from "Warakubeniya," a shop specializing in "Japanese sweets" created by pastry chef Hiroaki Tsujiguchi. The "Sensory Chocolat" features a heavy package with a matcha chocolate-coated cake inside. It is sprinkled with gold powder, showcasing Tsujiguchi's attention to detail. The cake consists of layers of chocolate cake at the bottom, matcha ganache in the middle, and a ganache made with the premium sake "Dassai" on top, all coated with matcha chocolate. When I took a bite, I could strongly sense the aroma of sake. This product may not be suitable for those who dislike sake, and it is advisable to avoid driving after consuming it. The bitterness of matcha was also prominent, making it a chocolate cake for adults. Unfortunately, my family did not appreciate it, so I enjoyed it by myself.

This is one of my favorite restaurants by Chef Hiroki Tsujiguchi. It's located inside the train station, so it's convenient to buy as a souvenir. On this day, I brought it as a snack for my brother who is working from home. Of course, my brother will make coffee and my mother and I will also eat it. I'm the annoying older sister who interrupts work. I hear that it's difficult to work from home with small children, but even without children, there are still distractions like this. The salt choux cream seems to have salt sprinkled on the surface of the skin, with the initial touch of salt on the tongue followed by the sweetness of the cream blending together. Hmm? This reminds me of the salt dorayaki I bought in Kanazawa the other day. Is the sweet and salty taste of mitarashi dango also in the same direction? The smooth cream is not too heavy or too light, making this choux cream hard to swallow. I might go buy this for a while without paying attention to anything else. A shop selling Kaga bouboucha tea has opened across the street. Houjicha might go well with this salty taste.

I visited this shop for the first time at Ecute Shinagawa. The shop is produced by a famous patissier. I recently visited a bean sweets shop, but this shop is famous for its rusk. I bought the "Eclair Rusk Uji Matcha" and "Marron Glace". Marron Glace has an adult taste and seems to go well with after-dinner drinks. The eclair has a strong matcha flavor and a crispy texture. The other rusks were also attractive, so I would like to visit again.

On the way back from our Izu trip on September 18, we stopped at Shinagawa Station to hunt for sweets while waiting for the limited express train. My wife got her hands on a custard pudding, so now it's my turn. I checked out all the station sweets and what caught my eye was the cream puff from "Waraku Koya." It seems that their Mont Blanc cream puff is popular, but my target was this one: Suzu Salt Cream Puff for 250 yen. Made with Suzu salt from the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture, the cream puff has a cookie-like choux pastry with a crunchy texture. The saltiness in the pastry is great, and the cream is generously filled inside, giving it a substantial volume. The balance between the sweetness of the cream and the saltiness is excellent, resulting in a very delicious salt dessert. This cream puff is so delicious! If I see it again, I'll definitely buy it. And the "Suzu Salt" itself, I might try buying it online. Thank you for the meal!

First visit in June 2020 (No.1840) This is the shop of patissier & chocolatier Hiroaki Tsujiguchi, who was born as the third generation of the traditional Japanese confectionery shop "Beniya" in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and has represented Japan in world pastry competitions such as Coupe du Monde, winning numerous awards. Currently, he operates 13 brands with different concepts, including Mont St. Clair in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo. The only one I have tried and reviewed is the Lumiere d'As in Kanazawa.
Japanese Rusk (10 pieces) 650 yen Rusk, famous in Japan for Gâteau Festa Harada, is a type of biscuit, a baked confectionery made by baking bread twice. In German, it is called Zwieback, which also means "twice-baked (bread)". This product is characterized by the addition of Japanese ingredients such as wasanbon sugar. It is a delicious rusk with a gentle and delicate sweetness. Thank you for the meal.

I purchased a gift for a dinner party at this shop. I bought it for home use once and it was quite delicious with a refined sweetness, so I have been using it as a gift for about 10 years. It is convenient at the station and the rusk is well-received by everyone, so it is a safe choice when you are not sure about the family composition of the other party.

This is a shop on the 1st floor of Ecute Shinagawa in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Today's snack is a colorful Japanese seasonal rusk - Autumn/Winter 12-piece set. It includes five types: traditional Japanese rusk, chestnut vanilla, baked apple, yuzu pepper, and chocolate. The Japanese rusk has a crispy texture and a gentle sweetness, which is delicious. Personally, I like the chocolate flavor the most. The cocoa's slightly bitter and gentle sweetness is addictive! Thank you for the treat! ❤️ ( ⁎ᵕᴗᵕ⁎ ) ===========

Pastry chef Hirohiro Tsujiguchi's sweets shop that incorporates a taste of Japanese tradition. He is actually the third generation of the traditional Japanese confectionery shop "Beniya" in Nanao City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and has revived it in Tokyo as "Waraku Beniya". The sweets mainly feature a refined and gentle sweetness using ingredients like Wasanbon sugar, allowing you to enjoy them crisply and lightly. ■ For photos and more details, check out the blog here → https://www.takemachelin.com/2019/12/2019.html

It's bread. The kind that's made crispy! They seem to be trying to differentiate themselves by finishing it in a Japanese style, but personally, the thinness, moisture level (amount of flavor penetration), sweetness, etc. don't quite hit the mark for me... Hmm, I think I prefer Tokyo rusk? Thanks for the meal! 😊

I received it at the Chocolate Expo at Hankyu Department Store (^ ^) Warakurenkoya's #Cool Chocolat Caramel Macadamia!! It was the sweetest one I had! It had a sweetness like overseas sweets! The chocolate on the outside was crispy, but the inside was soft and easy to eat! Maybe because you can eat it quickly, the sweetness hit me all at once? It was delicious.

I found it on Instagram and bought it on my way home (*^ω^*) I took too many photos and the staff scolded me saying "No photos allowed." It made me feel uncomfortable even though others were also posting pictures. The Shinagawa Butter Sand is similar in taste to Rokkatei's Butter Sand, but it is thicker and more satisfying to eat ♡ It costs 360 yen per piece, so the cost performance is not great, but I think it's okay as a occasional treat♪
