I bought the limited-time offer Matcha Jelly (Nakamura Tea) and the staff's explanation was easy to understand. They said that they mix 7 different types of tea leaves that are not usually mixed. The taste, aroma, and mouthfeel of tea can change depending on the temperature. Nakamura Tea includes the raw material for matcha, so it has a good aroma and is mild. The jelly was light and refreshing, yet also rich.

At Daimaru Kyoto, we got takeout (of course, chosen by my son). When I choose, it tends to be biased towards what I like. But trying new things can lead to discoveries. When it comes to Kyoto, tea is a must (although I'm not a big fan of matcha, real matcha is delicious). Seasonal limited edition series of tea jelly: New Tea - 520 yen, special red bean paste made with white kidney beans mixed with roasted green tea; Matcha - 450 yen, incredibly rich; Hojicha - 450 yen, my son's favorite, perfect for summer with a refreshing sweetness that's not too overwhelming for an old man like me.

I tried Nakamura Fujikichi's Matcha Jelly. I heard that even Matsuko, who doesn't like matcha sweets, praised it. I was happy to try this traditional Japanese sweet that I was curious about. It's quite big. I will have it chilled. The Matcha Jelly costs around 390 yen including tax. There are two flavors, matcha and hojicha. It can last for 4 days in the fridge. The matcha flavor contains matcha jelly, shiratama (rice flour dumplings), and red bean paste. The smooth and slippery texture is perfect for summer. The gentle sweetness of the red bean paste is delicious. The chewiness of the shiratama is also nice. The bitterness of the matcha is not too strong, so even those who don't like matcha might find it easy to eat.

This year, Nakamura Tohkiti has opened a store in Daimaru Kyoto! They have a variety of jellies and they all look delicious. I bought the matcha financiers this time. They come in a pack of 2. The rich matcha flavor was delicious and the financiers were moist and tasty. The size was just right, not too big or too small. Next time, I want to try the jellies.

During cherry blossom season, try the cherry blossom red bean tea jelly. The matcha jelly is delicious too.

Whenever I come to Kyoto, I always end up buying something from this shop. Today, I purchased "Hojicha Jelly ¥362" and "Gyokuro Jelly ¥445" to eat on the Shinkansen. A few years ago, they didn't have Gyokuro, but the jelly brings out the gentle bitterness and richness of the tea, making it delicious. Matcha is good too, but the impact of trying Hojicha jelly for the first time is unforgettable. It seems like they were one of the first to offer Hojicha-related products, which I found rare and special. The toasty aroma of Hojicha, combined with the authentic tea flavor and a restrained sweetness, makes it a sophisticated treat for adults. I think it's just as delicious as the Hojicha parfait I had at the store. Even though you can now find Hojicha products easily in Tokyo, I still end up buying them when I visit Kyoto.

The jelly is delicious. It makes a great gift. However, it is dangerous to carry around for a long time on a hot day.

This is a gift. There are no stores in Sapporo, but it is quite delicious. It is a long-established tea shop founded in 1854, now run by the 6th generation. I received "Matcha Malt Bake @280" and "Hojicha Malt Bake @280". They are moist and soft, with a buttery flavor and a rich tea aroma, making them very delicious! They are quite sweet and go well with strong coffee, black tea, green tea, and anything else. I have tried similar items at a few other stores at a similar price, but they seemed to prioritize price over quality. This is a top-notch product, so I hope they study more before selling similar items. Regardless, it is really delicious, so if you find it somewhere, please try it (you can purchase it from their online shop). Thank you for the meal.
