I visited in the evening. The table seats were full, so I was seated at the counter. It was like a bar, a retro-style cafe. I ordered a blend coffee and pudding. The pudding was a traditional firm retro-style pudding. The caramel and texture combined well and it was delicious. The coffee had a good aroma and was easy to drink. It was a very nice cafe with a great atmosphere.

I took a break at Furatto when I got tired of walking around Kappabashi Bridge. I arrived before 4pm and was able to get a seat easily, but it was full afterwards. I had a pudding and an iced coffee for about 1300 yen. It had an old-fashioned coffee shop vibe, and the simple firm pudding, ice cream, and coffee were all delicious! ♡

I stopped by for a break while shopping at Kappabashi. The place has a bar-like atmosphere, with a beautiful woman running the shop alone. I ordered the daily citrus pound cake and pudding, along with an iced coffee. It's a nostalgic adult cafe where you can feel at ease.

After finishing my business in Asakusa, my feet were tired and my stomach was growling. I couldn't find a cafe that suited my time until I stumbled upon a lovely traditional coffee shop. Inside, there were cat-themed items and books by Seicho Matsumoto lined up neatly, and the elegant owner in a kimono was working with grace. The small shop was full of what seemed like regular customers, including a man in a stylish kimono enjoying a drink. The firm pudding was a perfect match for the tea. I ended my visit with a glass of sake, savoring the elegant atmosphere.

When it comes to retro Showa era shops, there can be a nostalgic feel but sometimes concerns about hygiene. However, this place has a clean and stylish atmosphere. It might actually have a Taisho era romance rather than Showa vibes. They don't have light meal menus, but offer coffee, tea, electric blend, and a selection of Japanese sake chosen by the owner. The recommendation of cakes that go well with sake is interesting. I tried the carrot cake, and it turned out to be a sophisticated taste that could be enjoyed as a snack with drinks. The specialty is the Black Cat Pudding, with a firm texture that I liked. Ice cream is optional. Thank you for the meal.

While exploring Kappabashi Kitchenware Town, I took a break and found a cafe in a back alley to enter. The interior has a Showa retro-modern style, making you feel like you've slipped back in time. The owner is dressed in a stylish Japanese outfit and provides attentive service. [Order] Blend Coffee from Kuro Neko Tei, Pudding -> A slightly firm, old-fashioned pudding with a bitter caramel flavor. The silver dish and cherry on top add a nice touch.

Asakusa at night... When you open the door, you enter a retro space where antique items are displayed, creating a Taisho-era romantic atmosphere. Greeted by a cool and beautiful Japanese-style owner, you take a seat at the counter. On the bookshelf in the back, there are books by Yokomizo Seishi... I love mystery novels, especially the works featuring Kindaichi Kosuke such as "The Devil's Ballad," "The Village of Eight Graves," and "The Inugami Clan." It feels like I have wandered into the time background of those novels. Although it's a café, you can also enjoy alcohol, which adds an interesting touch for a drinker. I really wanted to try the pudding here, and luckily they were still able to serve it just before closing. I was also recommended to try the "Shalikin's Denki Brand" by my companion. In the slightly dimly lit retro interior, the elegant body of the pudding and the beautiful orange liquid of the Denki Brand create a picturesque scene. The Denki Brand, a Japanese cocktail made by blending brandy with high-proof alcohol and herbal ingredients, reminded me of the first time I tried it at the "Kamiya Bar" on 1-1-1. It's a strong drink, but you can enjoy it with a chic feeling. However, if you drink too much, it will definitely hit you. This Denki Brand in Shalikin style was a new experience for me, and it was both exciting and pleasant. The pudding had a firm texture and a dense body that was felt through the fingertips as soon as I put the spoon in. It was a retro pudding that was very delicious and to my liking. The caramel was surprisingly not too sweet and had a light touch. As someone who doesn't drink coffee, I found this caramel to be a good match with the pudding, but coffee lovers may prefer a slightly more bitter caramel. I savored it while thinking about such things. Wrapped in the world of the exotic and beautiful owner, I raised a toast to a wonderful night. I look forward to enjoying cake and sake next time... The end.

I stopped by One Love after visiting Kitchen Yoshimura, but they didn't have cheesecake or hot coffee, so I decided to go back home. However, I found a shop called Kuro Neko Tei on the way, so I decided to give it a try. The carrot cake and ginger cake weren't quite to my liking, so I ordered the Kuro Neko Pudding (450 yen). I also ordered the blend coffee (600 yen) since they didn't have dark roast. The old-fashioned style pudding was delicious, and the coffee was a type that was easy to drink black without any bitterness.

There is a cafe located right between Tsukuba Express Asakusa Station and Taharamachi Station, just a few minutes' walk from both. The area around Asakusa has a lot of cafes known for their delicious puddings, so it's a common topic of conversation. This particular cafe caught my attention, so I decided to visit when I had some business nearby. The interior of the cafe has a mix of a coffee shop and a bar atmosphere, with a slightly dim and cozy feel even during the day. Even though it was a Sunday afternoon, there were only two groups of customers, giving it a hidden gem vibe. I sat at the counter where a mysterious yet somewhat dry but kind waitress served me. Remembering the pudding, I ended up ordering the plum cheesecake. I also got a cup of tea, and the total came to around 1200 yen. The cheesecake had a hint of plum flavor but mostly tasted like a classic baked cheesecake – it was delicious and comforting. I couldn't help but wonder why I didn't just get the pudding. I definitely need to go back there again.

The interior of the shop has a retro atmosphere with retro music playing quietly, allowing you to spend a relaxing time. The landlady runs the place alone, so when it's busy, the food may not come out quickly, but it's not too bad as you can enjoy the ambiance. They also have a creamy pudding, but I prefer this kind of place in the end.

I walked from Woodwork Welcome Coffee to Asakusa and then to Kappabashi. Along the way, I encountered Kaika-rou in Asakusa and enjoyed walking through the streets of Taito. In Kappabashi, I didn't find anything that particularly caught my eye, but my mother was happy to find a lovely cup. We took a break at a Taisho Romantic-style restaurant and had Basque-style cheesecake and apple juice for lunch. Still feeling a bit hungry, I ordered black tea and pudding. The pudding was just as firm and delicious as the cheesecake. The caramel was mildly sweet with a hint of bitterness, but personally, I prefer it a bit more burnt and bitter. The black tea service with a teapot was much appreciated. The cozy atmosphere in the backstreets of Kappabashi was also nice.

I was introduced to this cozy, hidden gem of a restaurant by one of my followers (lol)!! The interior is filled with a nostalgic Showa era vibe (lol)!! I ordered the black cat pudding with ice cream and a coffee float (lol)!! The pudding also had a nostalgic Showa era feel to it (lol)!! The caramel sauce was generously drizzled over it, soaking into the vanilla ice cream (lol)!! Since I was feeling a bit sweaty, the coffee float was perfect (lol)!! I've decided to come back here for lunch in Asakusa multiple times (lol)!! I'll definitely be visiting again (lol)!!

The cute and nostalgic name of the pudding shop caught my attention. I love old-fashioned puddings with a nostalgic taste, so this place is perfect for me. The pudding with cherries on top gives off a nostalgic vibe. The caramel was sweet and smooth, matching the retro atmosphere perfectly.

Casually visited Asakusa. On this day, I decided to eat pudding and drove to a place called Nishi-Asakusa Kuroneko Tei. It is located in Taito Ward, Nishi-Asakusa 2-chome. The exterior of the shop has a nice traditional coffee shop vibe. The interior is filled with a Showa modern taste. When I asked the female owner, she mentioned that she likes Edogawa Rampo. There were counter and table seats available. This time, I ordered the Kuroneko Tei pudding that was written on the blackboard at the entrance. After a short wait, it was served. Oh, on a silver plate, there was pudding and ice cream. It had a visual with cherries and a nostalgic feel. The pudding was a firm type with a slightly bitter caramel taste. There are also creamy puddings, but I ultimately prefer this kind of flavor. The ice cream, as it melted a bit and mixed with the caramel, added a nice sweetness. When I looked at the glass of water, there was a black cat printed on it. The atmosphere inside the shop and this playful touch made it a nice place to visit.

◼️Previous Tabelog rating: 3.12 (November 2021) Genre: Cafe / Japanese Sake Bar ◼️What I had: - Denki Bran (600 yen) - Sake Affogato (probably 600 yen) - Kuroneko Tei Pudding (450 yen) Overall impression: I had a relaxing time in this retro-style cafe. The atmosphere was nice with lots of books and intricate decor. It's a great place to unwind and they have a variety of drinks, which is wonderful. If you're tired of the hustle and bustle of Hoppy Street, this place is a must-visit. You can even try the famous Denki Bran from Asakusa here, making it a perfect spot for a break during sightseeing. ◆Denki Bran (600 yen): This was amazing! It had crunchy ice cubes made from frozen shochu. The best part was that the alcohol didn't get diluted as the ice melted. It kept the high alcohol content and stayed ice-cold for a long time. ◆Sake Affogato (probably 600 yen): Pouring sake over vanilla ice cream was a new and delightful experience. The generous amount of sake added a nice touch to the dessert. ◆Kuroneko Tei Pudding (450 yen): This old-fashioned pudding perfectly matched the retro vibe of the cafe. It had a firm texture and added a nostalgic charm to the experience. ◼️The interior of the cafe is retro and charming, with both tables and a counter. It's a must-visit for retro enthusiasts. ◼️The place was almost full but surprisingly quiet. ◼️The service was great, and the lady serving us was lovely. She might have been the only staff there. ◼️It's safe for women to visit alone. I even saw someone in a kimono! If you're sightseeing in Asakusa in traditional attire, taking a break at this cafe will surely add a touch of elegance to your experience. Plus, you can try the famous Denki Bran here, too.

I visited a Showa modern cafe & bar called "Nishi Asakusa Kuroneko-tei" located towards the Kappabashi Dougu-gai shopping street from Asakusa Station in Tokyo. The owner, a fan of author "Yokomizo Seishi," was inspired by the novel "Kuroneko-tei Jiken" and renovated the cafe based on the imagery of the bar Kuroneko-tei from the novel. The atmosphere is retro and the owner, dressed in a kimono, adds to the charm. The novel revolves around a mysterious death at Kuroneko-tei where a woman's body with a disfigured face is found in the garden. The story unfolds with suspicions of the owner's husband's mistress being the victim, but with a twist involving the owner herself. The renowned detective Kindaichi Kosuke solves the case in a surprising manner. The cafe offers a unique combination of cakes and Japanese sake, along with popular items like pudding and cream soda. I tried the Kuroneko-tei pudding and cheesecake, paired with a recommended sake. The conversation with the owner about Yokomizo's works was delightful. Mystery fans, retro cafe enthusiasts, and sake lovers will enjoy this cafe, although note that it will be temporarily closed from 7/5 to 8/18.

I went to a cafe in Asakusa to have seasonal cream soda and firm pudding. The atmosphere is more like a concept cafe created by those who love the Showa era, rather than a long-established one. It's not old-fashioned, but more of a modern cafe. The cafe is located in a back alley just a few minutes' walk from Asakusa Station. The staff were dressed stylishly in kimonos, giving off a retro vibe. When I visited, there was an art exhibition going on, and I had a great time in the calm space. The firm pudding and pink cream soda I had this time, along with the tea, were delicious! I had a relaxing time at the counter seat. I heard that the adult cream soda has sake in it, so I'd like to try that next time. I want to go back again.

If you want to enjoy more alcohol, this is the place to go♪ Ponzu sake is also delicious at this cafe♫ Thank you for the meal m(__)m================================ps My poor family has a PC in the hallway. It's too hot from the morning, so I can't write a decent review><

I visited around 4 pm on Saturday. There was no wait, but the restaurant was almost full. I was asked if it was okay that the pudding was sold out. The seating was mostly at the counter or small tables for 2 people. The atmosphere was nice, like a clean retro coffee shop. I ordered a blend coffee for 650 yen, which came in a glass cup and saucer. They also had hojicha, black tea, and some alcoholic drinks, along with desserts like pudding and carrot cake. It's not a place for long stays, but good for a break during sightseeing in Asakusa. There were no foreign tourists when I visited.

While shopping at Kappabashi, I came across a drink called Denki Brand. It is a Japanese brandy-like drink that was originally created to mimic expensive brandy. I heard that it is a specialty of a retro coffee shop where the sweet taste pairs well with alcohol. As a fan of pudding, I didn't hesitate to order the old-fashioned pudding with ice topping. The Denki Brand I tried for the first time was more like a sorbet in a glass, with a cold and sweet syrupy taste... although it actually has a pretty high alcohol content. The pudding was "THE Showa Pudding," just like the egg pudding I used to eat as a child... so nostalgic. Maybe the caramel could have been a bit more bitter, perhaps because of the Denki Brand?
