The restaurant is located on the second floor of the Miyazaki Prefecture antenna shop in Southern Terrace at Shinjuku South Exit. I vaguely remember eating hiyajiru (cold soup) there a few years ago. The atmosphere of the shop was clean and the background music was relaxing jazz, creating a calm space. The staff offered a choice between counter and table seating, and I was seated at a table. I started with a beer order - the craft beer "Taiyo no Lager" from Miyazaki Prefecture, priced at 880 yen for a glass. It had a beautiful wheat color and was easy to drink. I ordered the Chicken Nanban set meal for 1,320 yen, with the option of free extra rice. The chicken nanban was made with thigh meat, which was tender and moist, unlike the usual breast meat. The rice was impressive - shiny and heavy, with a chewy and slightly firm texture. It was surprisingly delicious, and I ended up getting a refill. After finishing the meal, I was served a warm hojicha tea. The female staff had a gentle and warm demeanor, possibly from Miyazaki. The atmosphere of the restaurant was so pleasant that I ended up lingering over a cup of tea. There were many solo customers, and the two women next to me were speaking in a dialect, possibly from Miyazaki as well. The male staff also provided excellent service. I look forward to trying the hiyajiru next time. Thank you for the meal!

It's been a while since I last visited Shinjuku. I searched for a place to have lunch and found "Miyazaki Fudo Kuwane" on the 2nd floor of the Miyazaki Bussankan. I arrived around 11:30 and the restaurant still had some empty seats, but it started to get crowded as noon approached. I ordered the following for lunch: - Oyakodon set meal (small rice) 1,800 yen - Hiyajiru (single item) 450 yen - Oyakodon set meal (small rice) I chose the small rice portion considering my plans for the evening. The aroma of the charcoal-grilled chicken stimulates the appetite. The Miyazaki Jitokko chicken is tender and flavorful, with a nice smoky taste. The eggs used in the dish are not from Miyazaki Prefecture, so they are probably regular chicken eggs. The dish is prepared like a scrambled egg, with a sweet sauce and slightly sweet eggs. Breaking the yolk in the middle adds to the deliciousness. The side dish was pickled radish with mayonnaise. The set meal came with miso soup, but I ordered Hiyajiru separately. It was a hot day, so the cold soup was refreshing and tasty. It had cucumber and myoga, and I enjoyed it with the small portion of rice that came with it. Despite ordering a small rice portion for the Oyakodon, I ended up eating a regular amount of rice due to the Hiyajiru. The restaurant started to get crowded, so I quickly paid and went to explore the Miyazaki products on the first floor. The Oyakodon with Jitokko chicken and Hiyajiru were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant on Sunday evening at 6 pm and was seated right away. I ordered the "Chicken Nanban set meal" which came with an appetizer and was very filling. The chicken was tender and delicious. However, I had high expectations as it had won a prize, so I was a bit disappointed. I noticed several signs in front of the restaurant, so I could tell it was a popular place.

Miyazaki's food is absolutely delicious. I had always been curious about this place as I passed by it often when visiting nearby clients. Cheers! ★Akane Kirishima with soda - a refreshing drink. The appetizers were Goya pickles, yuzu bell peppers, and simmered pears. The sweet and smooth egg omelette was delicious. I would definitely want seconds for dessert. The pear was also delicious, almost like a dessert. ★Natsu no Akashige with soda from Yanagita Sake Brewery. The Caesar salad with raw bonito flakes was excellent. The leafy salad was normal, but the bonito flakes added a delicious touch. ★Miyazaki beef for ¥2,500 - served with miso powder, pink salt, yuzu pepper, and sauce. This A4 grade black-haired Wagyu beef was very flavorful and delicious. It was tender and required a good chew. ★Natsu no Mannen with soda - perfect for summer. Each drink had recommended ways to enjoy it, making it fun to try different flavors. ★Chicken Nanban Karaage - award-winning dish. Crispy and fragrant, juicy and goes well with tartar sauce. A must-try dish! Delicious food and refreshing shochu. I definitely want to visit Miyazaki again. Thank you for the feast!

Infants and toddlers are welcome at this restaurant, but please be aware that there is no elevator so you may need to be cautious with strollers. The table seating is limited and there may be a considerable wait depending on the time. However, if your child does not need a high chair and can sit at the counter, you may be seated more quickly. I visited with my one-year-old daughter and was concerned about the wait for a table, as well as the fact that my daughter fell asleep. The staff quickly suggested seating at the counter, where we could bring in the stroller and let her sleep while we enjoyed our meal. The staff were very kind and the food was delicious. The parent-child rice bowl I had my eye on had deliciously grilled chicken with a tantalizing aroma. The perfectly runny egg yolk was also perfect. My companion ordered the bonito sashimi set meal and I tried a bit, it was also amazing! The way they served the bonito with egg yolk was a fresh and unique experience. The lunch set was very reasonably priced and I imagine the appetizers would be great for a night out. Lunch is popular so there may be a wait, but if you don't have kids, the turnover rate is high so I recommend it!

I was looking for a place to have lunch near Shinjuku South Exit when I came across the word "Miyazaki". The first floor seemed to be a Miyazaki souvenir products exhibition, while the second floor was a restaurant. I was torn between Chicken Nanban and Oyakodon, but I was drawn to the limited quantity offer and chose Oyakodon. The charcoal-grilled chicken and soft-cooked egg were exquisite and delicious. The bonito and cold soup also looked delicious.

Chilled soup set meal for 1800 yen. This was my first time trying chilled soup and it was alright, nothing special. The chicken nanban was juicy with a flavorful sauce soaked into the batter, very delicious. It also came with sashimi, making it a good deal. Rice was refillable.

This time, I had the classic Chicken Nanban set meal with cold soup added. Chicken Nanban is delicious no matter how many times you eat it. The tenderness, the sweet and savory sauce, and the sophisticated tartar sauce all come together perfectly. With rice, it's a winning combination. The side dishes of dried daikon radish, pickles, and miso soup are all carefully made. Especially the miso soup has a great broth. The only disappointing part was the service from the floor staff. They seemed too busy and you had to raise your voice quite a bit to get noticed. It made me think they should reduce the number of customers if they don't have enough staff. I'll go during a quieter time next time... Thank you for the meal.

Antenna shop from Miyazaki Prefecture at the south exit of Shinjuku Station. Had lunch at the restaurant on the 2nd floor. Despite being attached to an antenna shop, the kitchen is quite solid and the menu is authentic, even for dinner. I originally came for the Chicken Nanban lunch, but ended up changing to the Cold Soup lunch which also comes with a mini Chicken Nanban. Rice refills are free. The Cold Soup set includes the mini Chicken Nanban, sashimi, side dishes, pickles, and miso soup. Even though the Cold Soup doesn't seem to need miso soup. The Chicken Nanban is made with thigh meat, has a substantial texture, and the tartar sauce is rich and tasty. It's the type that goes well with white rice. The amberjack and octopus sashimi are also rich in flavor with a sweet soy sauce typical of Kyushu. The pickled dried radish in the side dish is spicy and mayo, making you crave for sake. As it progresses, the lightness of the Cold Soup becomes more pronounced. The refreshing taste of shiso leaf and myoga makes it easy and smooth to drink. Passing through the Cold Soup as an intermediary for the strong side dishes allows you to enjoy everything without getting tired of it. Even in the middle of summer when your appetite is low, finishing the meal is a sure thing (although it's hard to imagine someone with no appetite ordering such a generous lunch). It was a Miyazaki lunch that reaffirmed the charm of Cold Soup.

As someone from Miyazaki, I have found that there are many fake chicken nanban dishes in Tokyo, and it's hard to come across the authentic chicken nanban. However, I had high hopes for this place as it is an antenna shop from Miyazaki. They also had other options like cold soup set meals and sashimi set meals, but I decided to go with the chicken nanban. It was very delicious! The sweet nanban vinegar sauce coated the tender chicken well, and the tartar sauce was generous, reminding me of the local flavors.

The set meal of bonito tataki with plenty of condiments and topped with egg yolk. Later, a soup will be served, so I finished with ochazuke. I usually prefer a small amount of rice, but the generous portion of bonito and rice for ochazuke disappeared quickly, and I ended up getting a normal-sized refill. Refills are free.

There is an antenna shop for Miyazaki near the south exit of Shinjuku Station, and I have visited it a few times. The restaurant on the second floor is here. On this day, I suddenly felt like having chicken nanban, so I visited this place that I had bookmarked before. It seems quite popular, as I had to wait a bit on the stairs of the restaurant. Looking at the menu, there were options like bonito and cold soup, but I decided to go with the chicken nanban set meal (1400 yen) as I had planned. I was thinking of having a beer too, but it was surprisingly 990 yen (;_;) which was too expensive, so I just had the set meal. The interior of the restaurant was clean, with counter seats and table seats, although it felt a bit cramped. It was full of customers. The food was served in about 10 minutes. The chicken nanban was more than I expected, with a perfect tartar sauce. The meat used was thigh meat. It came with miso soup and pickles, and rice was free to refill, so I had a second helping (^o^) Eating the chicken nanban reminded me of the one I had in my hometown Miyazaki, bringing back nostalgic feelings. I should have tried the craft beer too. There were many people waiting on the stairs outside the restaurant when I left. I will come back here when I miss Miyazaki again☆

Lunch on 07/07 (Friday) ... Miyazaki Fudo Kuwane ... Miyazaki Prefecture-grown young chicken Chicken Nanban set with "Shiitake Nanban" for 1,500 yen ... Good service, fast serving, delicious taste, good cold water, good portion size, good cost performance, good air conditioning, limited time offer, good scenery, ... I was able to enjoy both Chicken Nanban and thick dried shiitake mushrooms as a limited time special. I just visited Miyazaki last year, so I felt a sense of familiarity. The quality is quite high.

I had never dined at the "Miyazaki Bussankan" before, although I often shopped there. I was looking for a place where my middle school son could eat alone during his summer study period, and this place caught my eye. They offer four set meals until 2:30 PM, priced at 1400-1850 yen with a lunchtime discount, but after that, there's a 500 yen increase. The dinner menu looked good too, but the set meals are the same for both lunch and dinner, so lunch is definitely the better deal if you're just after the set meal. I ordered the "Chicken Nanban Set for 1400 yen" and my husband got the "Katsuo Rice Set for 1450 yen." The Chicken Nanban had a pre-made feel with soggy batter, but the chicken itself was tender and tasty, and the tartar sauce was really good. I had a different image of Chicken Nanban, but considering it's a bussankan, it's convenient to be served soon after ordering. The tartar sauce made up for it. The Katsuo Rice Set was delicious without the typical fishy smell, and pouring hot broth halfway through to enjoy ochazuke was a wonderful touch! So delicious! I found out from the staff that the cold soup was made from conger eel broth! I definitely want to try that too! I was planning for my son to eat alone, but I might join him during his lunchtime.笑

Located right near Shinjuku Station South Exit. It's on the 2nd floor of the Miyazaki Building. I actually once gave up coming here because the line was too long. The restaurant has a large window and a woody atmosphere, creating a very nice space. There are 4 tables for 3 people, 7 tables for 2 people, and a counter with about 10 seats. The background music is orchestral and played softly. They serve green tea as the complimentary drink, which is a nice touch. I ordered the Chicken Nanban set meal for 1400 yen. They also offer chilled soup set meals, bonito rice set meals, and oyakodon. The Chicken Nanban had slightly smaller pieces of meat than expected. The sauce with finely chopped onions was tasty, but the flavor was something you could find at any restaurant serving Chicken Nanban. The side dishes included sweet and sour radish, pickles, and miso soup. The miso soup had a strong clam flavor and was delicious. However, the pickles and sweet and sour radish seemed to be store-bought. The rice was cooked firm and tasty. But the regular portion size was quite small. I recommend getting the large portion for men. Overall, it was decent, but not something worth coming specifically for. The great atmosphere and relaxed dining experience in Shinjuku are the highlights. In that sense, they have a good overall appeal. Hmm, it's hard to find a Chicken Nanban that really stands out. I still believe that ABC's Chicken Nanban is the best. Thank you for the meal.

The miso soup and side dishes were also tasty, making it a happy lunch.

During the usual lunchtime, there were people who had made reservations, so it seems to be a popular restaurant. We were able to be seated without waiting! I ordered the Chicken Nanban set meal as usual, and my brother ordered the Oyakodon. The Chicken Nanban set meal was delicious as always, but the Oyakodon had too strong of a charcoal flavor. Not recommended for those who don't like charcoal flavor.

Today I visited for lunch because I was craving Tori Nanban. I arrived at 11:50 and was able to be seated right away. As usual, there were many women dining here. The food quality is consistently above average with no disappointments. The Tori Nanban was made with plenty of tartar sauce on Miyazaki chicken thigh meat, and it had a delicious chicken flavor. The Katsuo lunch that my companion ordered can be enjoyed in three ways: 1) as is, 2) mixed with egg, and 3) as ochazuke with dashi.

It is said that all the ingredients used in this restaurant are from Miyazaki. The charcoal-grilled Miyazaki Jidori chicken was very delicious. Be careful as the oil splatters from the iron plate. The Chicken Nanban is also recommended, with thick and satisfying meat. The staff were friendly and talked a lot, making it a pleasant experience.

Located on the second floor of the Miyazaki antenna shop next to Shinjuku South Exit, Newman. This place offers delicious set meals in Shinjuku without fail. During my last visit, I had a set meal that included appetizers (such as simmered vegetables), fresh onion salad, and chicken nanban set meal (pictured in the photo) for 2,000 yen. Every dish that came out was truly delicious! This place is a great choice when you're hungry and don't want to make a mistake in Shinjuku. They also have counter seats, so you can quickly come in, eat, and leave, even if you're dining alone.
