無芸小食
Located along Hongo Street, right in front of Tokyo Medical and Dental University, is the uniquely designed building of Hotel Tokyo Garden Palace, resembling a curved movie theater screen. The Garden Palace is operated by the Japan Private School Promotion and Mutual Aid Corporation, with branches in Sapporo, Sendai, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka. Inside, past the front hall, is the Aurora Restaurant. The breakfast buffet costs 1,500 yen, but hotel guests can enjoy it for 1,350 yen with advance reservation. I once arrived around 7 am and had to wait for a table as hotel guests were already occupying most seats. Unsure when I could be seated as a non-hotel guest, I opted for the Morning Set at the Orion Lounge in front of the front desk. This time, I arrived a bit later and managed to get a table without waiting. The left side of the restaurant is all glass, with a waterfall outside. The salad and soup selection was extensive, including various types of lettuce, vegetables, and dressings. Freshly baked bread was also available. For the main dishes, there were scrambled eggs, Spanish omelets, bacon, sausages, and more. I then tried some Japanese dishes like grilled fish, kinpira gobou, and miso soup with rice. Before moving on to desserts, I couldn't miss trying the hotel's curry. Finally, I enjoyed a variety of fruits, yogurt, and coffee for dessert. The restaurant's cozy atmosphere filled with the aroma of freshly baked bread made for a satisfying meal. Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted the photos from the first half of December, so there are no pictures of the dishes. Thankfully, I still have the receipt.
