We visited this casual izakaya in Shinagawa with 6 people at 9pm before the holiday. They specialize in meat-wrapped grilled skewers, which we ordered along with some side dishes. The skewers can be ordered individually and come in generous portions. There are various vegetables wrapped in meat, such as cherry tomatoes, enoki mushrooms, asparagus, and unique options like leeks. The restaurant was busy with full tables, but we didn't have to wait long for our drinks or dishes. The ingredients were good quality and the cooking was well-done, so we were satisfied with our visit to this izakaya for a fun and enjoyable meal with friends.

After finishing work, I spontaneously visited a place to unwind. The atmosphere inside was quite noisy, making my ears tired. Perhaps it was just a coincidence that many people were like that. I decided to order the specialty freshly squeezed lemon sour and some skewers. The lemon sour was made with Setouchi lemons, very refreshing with just the right amount of acidity. The skewers included pork belly rolls with leeks, garlic chives, and asparagus, as well as grilled chicken skin, scallions, and chicken liver in sauce. Everything was delicious, making it a great start to the evening.

I entered the restaurant around 12:40 PM. There were two groups of customers already seated. It seemed like there were also seats available on the second floor as two groups came down to pay while I was eating. I ordered the specialty dish, grilled chicken bowl, but unfortunately it was sold out for the day, so I went with the chicken nanban set instead. It took a little while, but when it was served, it was quite a generous portion. The taste was okay, nothing extraordinary. The miso soup was a bit light and lacked depth, so I added a lot of black pepper to make it more flavorful. There was a lot of chicken in the dish, so I wished there was something like pickles or a side dish to balance out the fried food. Overall, it wasn't bad, but for a lunchtime meal, it felt like the restaurant was not very busy.

I had drunk a lot at the previous shop, so I couldn't eat, but I could drink as much alcohol as I wanted!! So I went to a lively shop where the staff were calling out to customers. However, since it was one item per person, I chose some skewers that looked appetizing. I just kept drinking lemon sours and that was it. Thank you for the meal!

It was around 2:00 PM, a bit late for lunch. Many places had already finished serving lunch, but I stumbled upon this restaurant that was open until 3:00 PM. The interior was not very spacious, with a few lunch customers and people enjoying drinks. There were six lunch options available, and I decided to try the "Roorohan," which is not something you see often for lunch. I opted for the large serving, which was free of charge. The food arrived in about 5 minutes. The Roorohan had a unique aroma, which I couldn't quite place, but I didn't mind it. The miso soup had instant ingredients, and the soup itself didn't seem to be made from scratch. The salad had an unusual plum-flavored dressing, which was tangy and delicious. The main dish, the Roorohan, had pork belly with just the right amount of fat, but it looked a bit lonely on top of the large serving of rice. I was impressed by the flavors and ended up finishing the whole meal. The large serving was surprisingly generous.

I used this restaurant for dinner. It is a newly opened place, but the bottom line is, I will not go there again. The atmosphere was too uncomfortable. The interior was overly bright, the seat we were guided to was quite cramped, and on the day we went, there were several small bugs flying around, so we left after about an hour. The quality of the food was also mediocre. Especially considering it was not cheap.

Lemon Sour at a Second Venue Near Shinagawa Station I was looking for a place to have a second party where smoking is allowed near Shinagawa Station, and I asked the staff in front of the restaurant to guide me there. It seemed like the place had recently opened, with a spacious and clean interior, including the restroom. The restaurant seemed to specialize in skewers and lemon sours, and when you order a lemon sour with lemon for the first time, they will serve it with additional alcohol from the second order onwards (of course, at an additional cost). In addition to skewers, the restaurant also offers typical izakaya menu items such as edamame and changja, making it a suitable choice for those looking for a clean place where smoking is allowed for their second venue.

After a long time, I went out for lunch on a work day. I was planning to go to a certain restaurant, but found out that they were using a different location. On my way there, I discovered a new restaurant! Since the place I originally wanted to go to was a bit pricey, I decided to try this new place. It seems like they recently opened. I ordered curry with beef tendon in it. The coffee and miso soup were self-service and all-you-can-drink. The curry with beef tendon had a generous amount of meat and tasted quite authentic for an izakaya. It seems that during the pandemic, izakayas are putting more effort into their lunch menus, and the quality of dishes like ramen and curry has significantly improved across the board. This restaurant seems to be following that trend as well.

Not great, not bad, just the right amount of fried food. Shinagawa is expensive, after all!
