It's been a while since I visited the Tsukiji outer market for a weekend lunch. While I have been going to the Toyosu market more often in recent years, I still feel that the Tsukiji outer market has a better atmosphere and more delicious restaurants. On this day, I didn't have a specific restaurant in mind as I walked around, but I was drawn to a place along Nakadori with an attractive menu. Even though it was lunchtime, the restaurant wasn't actively trying to attract customers, so the place was not crowded. My top 3 favorite sashimi toppings are sea urchin, salmon, and fatty tuna. Sea urchin bowls often come with toppings like salmon roe or tuna, but the amount of sea urchin itself is usually limited. However, what caught my attention at this restaurant was the sea urchin and salmon bowl on the menu, the beautiful color of the salmon, and the option to add my favorite toppings. I ordered the "Sea Urchin and Salmon Bowl" with an additional topping of fatty tuna (lightly seasoned rice). I was able to customize my bowl to my liking, with the types and amounts of toppings I preferred! The miso soup was an extra charge, but I personally don't mind skipping it, so I appreciated that it wasn't automatically included. The bowl that was served was incredibly fresh, with top-quality sea urchin, beautifully marbled salmon, and perfectly melt-in-your-mouth fatty tuna. The individual toppings were a bit pricey, but the restaurant's quality and deliciousness exceeded my expectations. While there can be hits and misses at Tsukiji restaurants, I have left disappointed in the past, but this place provided a consistently tasty meal with attentive service in a clean and quiet environment. It was a very enjoyable lunch. Thank you for the meal.

It was a bit hard to find as it was located in a back alley. It was my first time there, so I ordered the most popular seafood bowl as recommended. Every type of fish was tender and fatty, melting in my mouth and delicious. I would love to go back again if I have the chance.

Since the situation with COVID has settled down, I accompanied an acquaintance to a seafood bowl market atmosphere. Initially, I wanted to go to Segawa, but it was full, so we ended up at this family-run place with a lot of energy. We sat down and ordered a luxurious tuna bowl with miso soup added, as per my friend's request. It arrived quickly, and we dug in. The bowl was decent, with a good amount of rice, but I wish the miso soup, for which we paid extra, had been of better quality. Also, it was disappointing that they didn't offer water, and the cold barley tea that came after we asked for it felt a bit lacking. I think the prices are fair, and overall, it's an okay place to visit occasionally.

I spontaneously decided to visit Tsukiji Market and ended up at Tsukiji Ryo for lunch. It was packed with people and full of energy. I ordered the Hokkai Don for 3300 yen, and it was incredibly delicious. Seriously, it was so good...

I decided to have breakfast at the Tsukiji Outer Market. The restaurant I wanted to go to was closed, so I searched online and found a place with a sign saying "Limited to 50 servings. Price: 3,080 yen including tax." Even though it was way over my budget for breakfast, I decided to try it. Inside the restaurant, I saw a big fish flag and got my hopes up. When the extravagant tuna rice bowl I ordered arrived, I was a bit disappointed by the portion size. The tuna was delicious, but something important was missing - the rice. The rice was a bit too firm, and it didn't seem to match well with the tender tuna. Even with miso soup, the mismatch was still there. Rice is indeed crucial. Reading reviews on Tabelog, I found others sharing the same opinion. I hope they improve the rice quality to make a truly delicious tuna bowl. I may not go back, but I wish them the best for the future of the Tsukiji Outer Market.

I went to Tsukiji for the first time to do some shopping and was wondering where to eat seafood donburi on my way back. Just then, a stranger delivery man passed by the front of a shop called "Tsukijiro" and whispered in my ear, "This place is a sure bet! The others use frozen ingredients, the ones calling you in are fake. This place is the real deal, if you're going in, it's this shop." With that, he walked away. Surprised, I was approached by a handsome young man who said, "Please come in." When I asked if the man earlier was affiliated with the shop, it turns out he had nothing to do with it (laughs). I had the "Seafood Donburi - 1800 yen" and my husband had the "Shirasu Donburi - 1200 yen." It was incredibly delicious. Just as the unknown man said, it was indeed the real deal (laughs) in terms of taste. I will be going to Tsukiji for sourcing from now on, so I may not be able to visit every time, but whenever I eat in Tsukiji, I have decided to go to "Tsukijiro" for sure! It seems to be run by three siblings. Thank you for the lovely smiles, great service, and incredibly delicious meal! I'll be rooting for you!

During the weekend lunchtime, I went to Tsukiji Outer Market with my Vietnamese colleagues from work. We decided to try this restaurant because it was not crowded. I ordered the "Salmon and Salmon Roe Bowl" for 1,800 yen. The fatty salmon was delicious, but I was a bit disappointed because the salmon roe I was looking forward to had a slight fishy smell. Another disappointment was the rice. It was a bit warm but strangely hard, so I ended up leaving quite a bit uneaten. One of my Vietnamese colleagues wanted to eat tuna, so he ordered the "Tuna Deluxe Bowl" for 2,800 yen. Vietnamese people tend to eat less, but he was impressed by the tuna. However, like me, he also left some rice uneaten (laughs). Thank you for the meal.

This was my first visit to Tsukiji Outer Market since it moved to Toyosu. Even though the market is gone, the unique culture of the outer market is still thriving and bustling with people. I couldn't resist my hunger and decided to dine at an empty Tsukijiro. I originally wanted to order the sea urchin bowl, but after seeing the pale color of the sea urchin bowls being eaten by other customers, I opted for the seafood bowl and the all-tuna bowl instead. The sea urchin in the seafood bowl also had a pale color, but the taste was not as bad as I expected. All the ingredients were above satisfactory. The tuna in the all-tuna bowl was incredibly fatty and the taste was on a completely different level compared to supermarket or conveyor belt sushi tuna. It was very delicious. When I ordered a beer, I also received a complimentary change of a small dish while waiting for the seafood bowl to be ready. There was a signature from Japanese soccer player Mitsurou Sangawa. It was nice to be able to enjoy my meal leisurely in a less crowded environment. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant on a chilly weekday morning with light rain around 7:30 am. I ordered the seared rice bowl for 1900 yen with an additional topping of green onion and toro for 100 yen. The seared rice bowl came with medium fatty tuna, golden eye snapper, salmon, squid, octopus, and scallops, all seared and placed on top. The green onion and toro topping was of exceptional quality and quantity, making it seem like a complete meal on its own. Everything was delicious, with each ingredient perfectly seared to bring out its flavor.

In the middle of December, I had the chance to visit Tsukiji and wandered around the outer market. It was so crowded! I had no idea where to go, so I ended up at a restaurant where I was called in. They offered 12-13 types of seafood bowls ranging from a luxurious one for 3000 yen to a more affordable one for 1000 yen. If you just want something to go with your drink, you can just get the toppings without the rice bowl. I ordered the "Akami-zuke Don" for 1200 yen. It looked quite fancy with miso soup on the side. I asked for the tuna to be served as is, not marinated. I drizzled a bit of soy sauce on top and it was delicious. It was tasty, but I didn't feel that "wow, this is Tsukiji" moment. Maybe it would taste the same if I had it locally? The atmosphere might be the key here. They also did separate billing, which was a plus. Overall, the service was great.

I didn't have much time so I randomly went in, but the food was fresh and delicious. The teacups were so cute ☺️ It seems like the shop is run by siblings.

I ate the saury. It was delicious without any fishy smell. The appearance was also beautiful. The staff were friendly and the restaurant had a popular vibe. The place was full inside and there was always one group waiting outside.

The extravagant tuna bowl priced at 2,800 yen with an additional topping of 2 servings of sea urchin for 1,200 yen. Today's tuna is from Yamaguchi Prefecture. The manager is very friendly and a really nice person.
