The title of this restaurant review is: "A High Rating for EST!, a Cozy Bar in Yushima/Ueno Area." The reviewer praised the one-time-only spirit felt at the bar, the relaxing atmosphere that anyone can enjoy, the top-quality cocktails, and the reasonable prices. They recommended stopping by after a meal in Yushima/Ueno, especially if looking for another place to visit in the area. They enjoyed a Havana Club 3 Year Daiquiri and a Vesper Martini, with a total bill of 4,730 yen. The atmosphere was described as clean and shining, with the owner present on Wednesdays. The bar is a longstanding establishment in the Ueno/Yushima area, offering affordable prices and accepting card payments.

Highly recommended bar located at Yushima Station. It's rare for a bar to have been around for over 50 years! I visited for a meeting before dinner. For my first drink, I finally got to try the Grasshopper cocktail. Since I love chocolate mint, this cocktail was perfect with its chocolate mint flavor. It was light and easy to drink, with just a hint of alcohol. For my second drink, I tried the recommended seasonal Watermelon cocktail. The watermelon flavor was rich and by only adding half the amount of salt, it allowed for a change in taste which was great. The snacks were plentiful, and it was a relaxing bar. I had a great time waiting for my meeting.

From Kagurazaka, it takes a little over 10 minutes on the Chiyoda Line to get to Yushima. There awaits a wonderful bar space for you. Take a seat at the end of the counter and enjoy a Gin and Tonic, Martini, Gimlet, or Negroni - all made with Gordon's gin. Mr. Watanabe's Martini is soft and delicious. I think this place is the best!

A group of four of us suddenly dropped in, but the bar welcomed us with a very nice atmosphere. They smoothly recommended some salty and peaty drinks when we asked for them. The compact interior was cozy and well put together. We just popped in, but the quality was high. Smoking is allowed, so be cautious if you have someone in your group who is sensitive to it.

EST! is a long-standing bar located near Okachimachi within walking distance from Ueno. Despite its cute name, the bar exudes a chic and calming atmosphere that is simply irresistible. While the area around the bar may seem a little gritty, it adds to the charm of feeling like a hidden gem.

Friday night in Yushima is intense. It feels like a summer night with a vibrant atmosphere. Among the hustle and bustle, there was a store. It looks like something out of an old drama or Fujiko F. Fujio's "The Laughing Salesman". The lighting is dim, with only the bartender's side partially covered, creating a nice ambiance. The cocktails are delicious, especially the Gimlet! The Mojito is strong on rum. In fact, the overall drinks are strong, so it's a great place to get tipsy quickly. If you can't handle alcohol well, make sure to mention it beforehand.

In Ueno, I heard about a renowned bar tucked away in a back alley, so I decided to visit it as soon as it opened. As I walked in with high expectations, the atmosphere immediately drew me in. The interior was bathed in warm lighting, with retro decor creating a cozy space. The owners were very friendly, welcoming me with smiles. The bar was filled with diverse conversations, creating a relaxed vibe as if I was at a friend's house. The owners enjoyed chatting with guests, sharing their knowledge of drinks, stories, and even discussing topics like Instagram. I naturally joined in the conversation and had a great time. It's a charming bar that makes you want to come back, and I look forward to visiting again with more friends to immerse ourselves in its charm.

This is a small bar in Yushima. I visited in the early evening during Golden Week and there was only one other couple as customers. I ordered a Gin and Tonic for my first drink and a Lahaina (rum + pineapple juice) for my second drink, which is an original cocktail. The Lahaina was Hawaiian-inspired and perfect for this time of year as it was starting to get hot. It was easy to drink as it wasn't too sweet. The atmosphere inside the bar was very calm and quiet, making it a great place to enjoy a drink alone. Thank you for the meal.

Touhaku's special exhibition tour of Tohoku-ji Temple ended with a visit to a bar. When I heard about Yushima, I wanted to visit this bar called "EST!" in the area. I thought it might be too early for me, as I had just started exploring bars, but since I was already nearby, I decided to stop by. "EST!" is a bar in Yushima, Tokyo, that bartenders dream of visiting. The master, Akio Watanabe, has been studying cocktails on his own for over half a century. The first cocktail he reveals, along with his cocktail theory and recipe, is a highball that allows you to savor the scent of Scotch whiskey. Why does he deliberately not fill the glass to the brim when serving the highball? The highball at "Bar Nagasawa," which I visited where they do not have ice, was also delicious, so I decided to start by ordering it here as well. The highball was rated 3.9 stars by me. Oh, just as expected, the scent is wonderful with it filled to about 70%. Yes, the taste is also refreshing. I visited at 5:00 pm, still new to this, so the bartender was considerate. Even when serving, he said, "I made it with Johnny Walker Black Label." After finishing one drink, feeling confident, I asked, "Can you make it with a double wall next time?" And he replied, "We only have Johnny Walker Black Label here." Oh, right! This place is an authentic bar with a rich history! Next, I tried the "Maui High" (the master's original cocktail), which was deliciously made with fresh fruits. I gave it 4.0 stars. Then, there was the "Unnamed" cocktail (the master's original) made with golden kumquats and gold rum, which I rated 3.4 stars because the taste seemed a bit faint to me. Lastly, the "Evening Glory" (the master's original) made with lychee, grapefruit, and rum received 4.0 stars from me. The lychee was faintly aromatic and very tasty. These cocktails were enjoyed while feeling the history of the place. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Small and cozy place, it was really good! I used to pass by this place all the time but never went in, luckily it was empty this time so we decided to give it a try! The manager? was very efficient, yet he took the time to listen to us and gave us great advice. I usually order Ron Zacapa Centenario or XO when I go to a bar, but this time I tried Centenario with fresh grapefruit, so luxurious and delicious! It was too good and we finished it quickly. Will definitely stop by again! Thank you for the great meal!

I came to drink a Manhattan cocktail as a post-dinner drink. The interior of the restaurant is cozy and hidden. The Maraschino cherry was chilled with ice. They served it in a large glass rather than a mixing glass. The portion was just right. The taste was smooth and on the sweet side. The appetizers were plentiful.

It had been a long time since I visited this bar. I had actually been avoiding it for a while because I thought it didn't suit my taste, and it was the deciding factor that made me feel like I didn't fit in with the Inishie-style bars. I learned that even though everyone else may love a certain place, it may not necessarily be the same for me based on my own experiences and preferences. However, recently I have been visiting a few Inishie-style bars in a row, and I realized that my tolerance for this place has increased. Also, during this time of the coronavirus pandemic, I've come to understand that assuming a place will always be there and I can go anytime is just an illusion. So, when the thought of going popped into my head, I decided to go right away! I ordered a Vodka Ricky Yuzu Fusion, a Polar Shortcut, and an Irish Coffee made with brandy as a base. The bartender who used to make my cocktails is not around as often now, so this time, it had a different taste. I remembered that I had ordered an Irish Coffee before, and when I ordered it with brandy as the base, I was informed that they use one-third of the normal size sugar cubes, and they usually use two unless specified. I went with two cubes, then found it too bitter and asked for two more sugar cubes, which was a real déjà vu moment. Even with four cubes, it was still more bitter than at other bars. But, it's okay. The pinpoint taste of this place is just not my preference, but I have learned to relax and enjoy the interaction and adjust to my own taste over the years. I understand why many people praise this bar now, and I finally feel like I'm starting to enjoy it. I'm glad to be free from the notion of "not fitting in".

-Crimson Fizz: Strawberry, gin, soda, lemon juice -Lagavulin from the cask -Old Bottle Long John Old Parr, a longstanding establishment with a 50-year history. The bar exudes a calm atmosphere with a wide array of old bottles on display. The fruit cocktails are delicious, and the relaxed atmosphere is perfect. Next time, I'll try the Old Style Salty Dog.

Located about a 2-minute walk from Yushima Station, this shop was visited around 18:30 on a weekday. There were no other customers at the time. The seasonal fruit cocktail using pomegranate seemed delicious, but it was recommended to try a different cocktail. The Luna Rossa Gimlet, made with gin and grapefruit, was the first drink ordered. It was refreshing and easy to drink with a light sweetness. The second drink, made with vodka, had a good yuzu flavor and was also delicious. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, making it a place worth revisiting.

The restaurant has a counter with 5 seats and only one table. The retro atmosphere is nice, but there doesn't seem to be much creativity. The drinks are quite ordinary. There is no menu, and you have to just tell them your preferences. The seating is too cramped. I had one drink and left. It cost around 3,500 yen for one drink.

JR Okachimachi Station, head west on Hakusan Street, around the Tenjinbashi intersection near the subway Yushima Station take exit 2 and turn right, towards Shinobazu Pond, take the first alley on the right to find the restaurant. With a mountain hut-style exterior and a red sign as a landmark, the restaurant's name is in Latin meaning "It's here!" It was established in 1973 by the owner, Akio Watanabe, who previously worked at the renowned Ginza and Yushima's "Kohaku" establishments. Currently, Akio is recovering from a compression fracture, so his son Munenori manages the counter while keeping the traditional recipes intact. The interior of the restaurant, with 8 counter seats and 4 table seats, has a vintage authentic bar feel, with a focus on details like the burnt black pillars done by Akio himself to create an aged look. I ordered a "Bourbon & Soda" for the first drink and a "Spumoni" for the second, then followed the master's advice by trying a "Vesper Martini" and an "Irish Coffee". The "Vesper Martini" was recommended over the "Bond Martini", offering a wild twist on the classic Martini with a mix of gin, vodka, and Lillet Blanc, served shaken with a lemon twist for a unique flavor. On the other hand, the "Irish Coffee", only available during winter, is prepared with Irish whiskey, coffee, and cream on top, customizable to your preferred level of sweetness with sugar cubes. The authentic shot bar exuded a timeless charm, making you wish for its continued success, with hopes for Akio's full recovery as well.

Yushima area's longstanding bar located just a 1-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line "Yushima Station", a 3-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Ginza Line "Ueno Hirokoji Station", and a 10-minute walk from JR "Okachimachi Station". The entrance is hidden behind wooden doors, making it a bit intimidating to walk in. There is a counter and one table for two inside. I wanted to have a quiet drink by myself to celebrate finishing work. I ended up here after strolling from Hongo-Sanchome to Yushima. Sometimes, I feel like having whiskey on the rocks. I was unsure what to order, and the bartender suggested sweet, smokey, or refreshing options. First, I ordered something sweet. Glenfiddich 15-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky was easy to drink with a sweet taste and a gradual spread of whisky aroma and flavor in the mouth. Next, I ordered something refreshing. Glen Moray American White Oak, aged for 10 years, was the "essence of all." It indeed had a smooth taste and was easy to drink. The bar was filled with regulars celebrating the end of the year, making me realize the importance of visiting my favorite spots more often. Instagram ID: kuidaore.8.

I went to a place I remembered that my senior in graduate school took me to. It had been too long, so I got a little lost finding it, but I finally did. I ordered my favorite drink, a Gimlet. It was nice to have it poured in front of me at the table. And of course, it was delicious. I thought it was nice to be an adult and be able to drink alcohol.

I visited EST! in Yushima for the first time in a while for some bar hopping. It's a must-visit spot when in Yushima. Today, I was able to snag a seat at the counter. Started off with their signature rock cocktail. It's a cozy bar where you can enjoy good Scotch slowly while having a light-hearted chat with friends. Ended the night with a Moscow Mule with a kick of ginger. Headed home feeling happy.
