On a scorching day, your body craves salt, so during my walk to work, I decided to have a lunch of MAX ramen with extra-large fried rice at a chain restaurant. Don't underestimate it, it was really delicious. The lively atmosphere inside the restaurant was pleasant. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the ramen shop around 10 pm craving for some ramen. I really like the ramen at Machida Shoten, and the company that owns Machida Shoten gives out two free ramen vouchers every six months to shareholders who hold at least 100 shares. I used to have shares but sold them when the stock price went up, and now it's too expensive for me to buy back. The taste of the ramen can vary depending on the store, and the last time I visited, I felt that the taste was too strong and not good for my health, so this time I ordered it with "less oil, lighter taste." I used a coupon from the app to order rice, and I enjoyed every last drop of the soup. The ramen (soy sauce flavor) was delicious, and I would like to go back next time and order the same with less oil and lighter taste. Thank you for the meal! ★★★★ 750 yen.

Visited around 0:00. Despite the late hour, the restaurant was about 70% full. Purchased the tsukemen (dipping noodles) for 800 yen at the ticket machine near the entrance, and requested it to be served hot as it was cold. After waiting for about 10 minutes, the dish in the photo arrived. Noodles were medium-thick and lightly curly, cooked quite soft with no chewiness. The dipping broth was a fish and pork bone base, sweet but not spicy, and had a smooth texture. Toppings included chashu, menma, seaweed, onions, and chashu shreds in the dipping broth. Overall, it was nothing special. Onions were unlimited and free, so I added a bonus of 0.1 points. The smoked flavor of the chashu had a slightly awkward aftertaste. It's great that they stay open late, though.

I entered the restaurant late at night on a regular day. The ramen came out quickly, although the fried rice I ordered came out when I was almost done with the ramen, so I wish it had come out a bit earlier. The taste was the usual delicious flavor of Machida Shoten, so it was consistently good. The service was friendly and polite, leaving a good impression. I definitely want to go back again.

After visiting my mother's grave, the first place I visited at the beginning of the new year was this Yokohama-style ramen restaurant operated by Gift Holdings Co., Ltd., which was established in December 2009 and is also listed on the stock exchange. I arrived at 2:30 pm, after the lunch rush. I ordered the special salt tonkotsu fried rice set with an additional flavored egg for 100 yen, while my companion ordered the special soy sauce tonkotsu dumpling set for 1,100 yen. We were seated at the counter in the back. In the Yokohama ramen style, you can choose the firmness of the noodles, the richness of the flavor, and the amount of oil. Since it was my first time, I asked for everything to be normal. The restaurant was crowded with families, perhaps because it was the New Year holiday and there were no other open restaurants nearby. Before long, the half-fried rice, dumplings, and two ramen bowls were served. The presentation included seaweed, spinach, quail eggs, and chashu, typical of the Yokohama style. On the table, there were chili bean paste, ginger, garlic, onions, pickles, and sesame seeds, so I added ginger, garlic, onions, and sesame seeds to customize my ramen. The first thing I tried was the soup. The soup was a rich combination of aged chicken and pork bones with a creamy texture, enhanced by the saltiness, which I personally enjoy. While pork bone soy sauce ramen is well-known, the pork bone salt ramen was equally satisfying. The noodles were smooth, chewy, and matched well with the rich soup. The chashu was tender and fatty, just the way I like it. The fried rice was fluffy with a nice moistness and perfect saltiness. The dumplings were large and filled with a delicious mixture of minced meat and vegetables. The staff were efficient and attentive, creating a pleasant atmosphere for a chain restaurant. It had been a while since I had such delicious and satisfying ramen. I believe the locals come here not because they are tired of New Year's food, but because they can enjoy delicious ramen in a comfortable setting. Thank you for the meal.

Ramen for 750 yen, 2 slices of chashu for 150 yen. Visited on a weekday night at 8:17 PM. The parking lot in front of the restaurant was empty, so I was able to park smoothly. There is also a parking lot on the opposite side of the Machida Street from the restaurant. Although there were empty seats inside, they were spacing out the seating due to the impact of COVID-19, so I waited at the storefront as it was full. There were three types of house-made garlic, bean paste, and ginger, as well as sesame, pepper, and complimentary chopped onions available at the counter. Pickles were also available for rice. I sat down at 8:21 PM, ordered with firm noodles and less fat, and the ramen was served at 8:23 PM. The soup was predominantly pork bone soy sauce with a hint of fish flavor. The pork bone flavor was strong and rich. The noodles were medium-thick with less water content. I ordered them firm, but they turned out a bit too firm, almost crunchy. However, they softened up nicely as I ate, so it was okay in the end. The toppings included quail egg, spinach, seaweed, and 3 slices of chashu. I added about 1.5 ladles of chopped onions from the counter. Be careful not to add too many onions as it may cool the soup. The crunchy texture of the onions was just right. In this restaurant, finishing the soup completely is called "kanmaku," and by doing so, you get a stamp on a dedicated app. Collect 10 stamps and you get a free bowl of ramen. It seems like a tempting offer, but probably not the best for your health...

I wanted to feel the difference in taste between the main store and went to the Machida Shouten Max store located beyond Sakura Shinrin. I parked my car at the second parking lot across the road and entered the store. I purchased a ticket at the ticket machine on the right after entering. I ordered the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen with less oil and an extra flavored egg. The soup was delicious, similar to the main store, and the noodles were smooth and slightly firm. After finishing the noodles, I added a little vinegar to the soup and finished it off. It was a satisfying meal.

Father's Day... of course it's on a Sunday but I had to work. My daughter gave me a T-shirt which I wore to a meetup and ended up getting another T-shirt there. Seems like my T-shirt collection is growing... I went with a new colleague to Kisomachi in Machida for work and decided to stop by "Machida Shouten Max" that I had been curious about for a while. I heard that Machida Shouten specializes in family-style ramen, with the founder having trained in this style and aiming to supply it consistently through a central kitchen to spread the taste worldwide. They even have stores in Los Angeles and New York now. Amazing momentum! On this day, I ordered a regular ramen while the new colleague got the special fried rice set and dumplings. While waiting, I observed the interior of the restaurant... there were lots of snacks at the entrance. It's interesting how they have these snacks for kids to enjoy without having to buy them outside. Both the kids and the restaurant benefit from this, making it a smart move. I wondered whether offering cheap beer like Sushiro or Kaikaraya would attract more customers... Anyway, our orders arrived and here are the details in the photos...

I used this place for lunch during work. It seems to be a chain of home-style ramen restaurants. I bought a food ticket, ordered ramen, and the visual of the ramen with toppings like seaweed, chashu, spinach, quail egg, and a thick, flavorful soup got me excited. There were chopped onions on the table for toppings, so I added two servings. It turned out to be a nice accent. Chopped onions go well with ramen, don't they? The soup is on the richer side but without any unpleasant smell, and it has a depth with a hint of sweetness, which I really liked. The noodles are thick curly noodles, and by chewing them well, you can enjoy both the texture and flavor. Don't underestimate it just because it's a chain restaurant. When I crave home-style ramen again, I would like to visit this place.

The parking lot is small and facing the street, so it takes a little effort to enter and exit. The inside of the store is small, but there is a lively atmosphere with mainly female staff. Despite knowing it's a house-style shop, I chose to order the orthodox tsukemen, which I believe was the right choice. The dipping sauce is salty and rich, with a strong pork bone broth flavor, and the noodles are moist and have a very smooth texture. There is not an overwhelming amount of uniqueness, so it easily matched my preferences.

I visited around 2 pm on a weekday. I purchased tickets for "soy sauce ramen" and "5 quail eggs". I requested the noodles to be firm and the oil to be light. The dishes were served promptly. The soup that day was the richest in pork bone flavor I've ever had. It seemed to be at the perfect timing from cooking the soup in the store. It was actually quite good. The soy sauce flavor was also strong, giving the whole dish a nice punch. I added chopped green onions and pickled ginger from the table while finishing my meal. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. Although it's a chain store, this particular branch seems to have better taste compared to others. The staff was polite and the cleanliness was also good.

Ashinumaya, a ramen shop that for some reason was closed, and Yaitani, another ramen shop that also seemed to be closed, but when I was about to turn back, I found a ramen shop unique to Machida. The sign always shines in a golden color, giving off a nice and sharp feeling. It might be ranked number one in the sharp sign department. To be honest, this wasn't my first time here, I've been here a few times before. "Kanmaku," which can be considered a symbol of Machida shopping. Kanmaku! This year, the first thing I had was the MAX ramen with everything on it for ¥950 - chashu, boiled egg, quail egg, and 4 sheets of seaweed. The medium-thick noodles commonly used in house-style ramen have a light chewiness that perfectly blends with the soup. The deliciousness remains the same, giving a sense of comfort and reliability. Thank you for the first "Kanmaku" of the year.

I searched on Tabelog and visited this restaurant. Recently, I can only eat ramen that is not from a family-owned restaurant! There were a few parking spaces available. It is located along the main road of Machida Highway, so there is plenty of parking. I quickly purchased my meal at the ticket machine inside. This time, I ordered ramen (720 yen) and MAX ramen (970 yen) to compare the two. I also ordered rice (100 yen). I handed over the meal tickets at the table. When I sat down, they asked about my taste preferences. I chose normal for the noodles, richness, and flavor. The interior of the restaurant is still quite new and very clean. The seats are arranged in a spacious layout. The dishes arrived in about 5 minutes. First, the soup. It didn't look too rich at first, but it was actually quite thick. For those who like their ramen a bit on the richer side, the "normal" option may be sufficient. Next, the noodles. They were curly and medium-thick with a chewy texture. As for the toppings, the regular ramen came with spinach, one slice of chashu, three nori sheets, and a quail egg. The MAX ramen had spinach, three slices of chashu, six nori sheets, a quail egg, and a seasoned egg. The MAX ramen looked quite luxurious and you could really see the difference when they were placed side by side. The seasoned egg was not runny but rather firm, with a standard taste. The chashu was large and firm. Overall, it tasted like a rich Yokohama-style ramen. I prefer it a bit richer compared to lighter family-owned ramen. My personal tradition when eating at family-owned restaurants is to put a little doubanjiang on the rice, wrap it in nori soaked in soup, and eat it. I did the same this time and it was delicious with this soup. I recommend trying it. Also, there are pickled cucumbers and pickled ginger on the table, which are great for refreshing your palate after a rich meal. Thank you for the meal.

I often use this restaurant because it's close to my home. This time, I visited during the day. Since the state of emergency and prevention measures have been lifted, they have resumed late-night hours, which is very convenient when I suddenly crave ramen late at night. The staff greeted me energetically upon entering, and the taste was the classic flavor of a home-style ramen. If you like home-style ramen, you will definitely enjoy it. They also have mats on the floor to prevent slipping, which is a nice touch. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you.

Continuing with ramen (lol), I just can't resist it (lol). Even though I wasn't feeling great that day, my body still craved it. Rich. High in calories. A sinful delight. Ramen (lol). But I just can't stop (lol). The thick and rich soup is what I seek. I prefer tsukemen, so I went for that here as well. The thick noodles swirling in this soup are irresistible. I added spinach as a topping, just to alleviate a tiny bit of guilt (lol). It was so good (lol). Thank you for the meal!

On the night of Tanabata, at 8:00 PM, I visited a ramen shop with about 3 customers inside. I was greeted with a lively "Welcome!" and entered the shop. I purchased ramen (720 yen) and added extra spinach (100 yen) from the ticket machine. You can customize the firmness of the noodles, the richness of the flavor, and the amount of oil, but I always order them firm, rich, and normal oil. On the table, there were garlic, doubanjiang, ginger, as well as chopped onions and cucumbers, all for free. The ramen was served in about 5 minutes. The soup was clear yet flavorful, with a depth to it. It was clearer and had a higher transparency compared to the soy sauce ramen at Ogawa-ya in Hashimoto Station. The noodles were cooked firm as I requested, with a strong chewiness. The added spinach also added a nice touch. I added garlic and chopped onions for a flavor change halfway through, which deepened the taste and made it even more delicious. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the meal.

[July 3, 2021] Survey report. This is my second visit. It's my first time posting a review. Arrived at 18:08. Seat configuration: Counter x9 seats, 4-seater tables x3. Operation: 3 men in the kitchen, 1 man in the hall. Everyone is energetic! Purchased a ticket for "MAX Ramen" for 980 yen + "Rice" for 100 yen from the ticket machine. The ramen was served in 5 minutes. Visual: 3.8 points - Lots of toppings on the surface of the soup, very exciting! Soup: 3.8 points - The soup, made by boiling pork bones for over 15 hours, has a high Brix index. It has a thick and smooth texture, with a strong soy sauce base. The chicken oil on the surface of the soup is just right. Overall, it has a rich flavor. The smoky flavor of the chashu is also delicious. Added chopped onions and ginger from the table halfway through for flavor variation. Noodles: 4.0 points - Made by Masuda Seimen. The low-hydration medium-thick noodles have a firm and dense texture with a good chewiness. The wheat flavor is strong and delicious. Chashu: 3.7 points - The chashu, rolled pork belly, is very tender with a hint of smoky flavor. Flavored Egg: 3.7 points - The soy sauce broth has soaked well into the center. The yolk is slightly gooey. Seaweed: 3.7 points - Slightly smaller seaweed compared to other places. Decent seaweed flavor. Vegetables: 3.6 points - Boiled spinach, lacking in flavor. Rice: 100 yen - Ordered rice later because there was cucumber pickles on the table. Half-fried Rice: 4.1 points - Lightly fried fried rice with the umami of lard. Surprisingly delicious! Overall: During the meal, an inexperienced part-time worker accidentally broke a dish. An older person scolded him in a petty manner, which made me lose my appetite. I believe there are ways to reprimand, but at least I wish they wouldn't do it in front of customers during meals. If I have the chance, I would like to try the salt ramen as well.

I wonder how many years it has been since I last came here. I went to Machida to eat ramen at Machida Shouten. It was around 3 p.m. and thankfully not crowded. I ordered a large ramen, half fried rice, and gyoza. I also got some spinach with a coupon. The ramen was served quickly. First, I tried the soup after a long time. Oh, it's delicious! The tonkotsu soup is refreshing without any strong flavors. I'm glad I came here. The soup is so tasty! The main store and this Machida branch cook their own soup. So the taste is completely different from other Machida Shouten branches. Before I knew it, I finished the soup. The noodles were cooked just right. Eating it plain was the right choice. The half fried rice was perfect in terms of saltiness, flavor, and texture. The portion was also just right. What's great about this place is not just the ramen, but also the excellent customer service from the staff! It makes the food taste even better. Thank you! I will definitely come back again!
