"Akasaka-tei" is a restaurant located in Akasaka, as the name suggests. The signboard reads "All items for 330 yen each," making it clear that this is a fairly inexpensive izakaya in Akasaka. I realized that I had never been here before, so I decided to visit the restaurant on this day.
■■ Traditional izakaya atmosphere! The restaurant is usually crowded during the post-work hours, but since I visited a bit early this time, there were hardly any customers inside. The interior had a traditional izakaya atmosphere, just like the exterior. It was nice to be able to order without hesitation due to the 330 yen price tag on all items. Let's order right away.
■ Black Beer (330 yen) I'm not particularly fond of black beer, but I couldn't resist ordering it for 330 yen.
■ Octopus Karaage (330 yen) First up, this dish that seemed to go well with beer. It was quite tasty, but the portion was small. I guess that's expected for 330 yen...
■ Squid Sashimi (330 yen) Next, squid sashimi. This was also 330 yen, and it was a typical squid sashimi dish. A good snack.
■ Special Stew (330 yen) This stew had tofu, carrots, onions, konjac, meat, and the flavors were well infused. This was the most delicious dish of the day.
■ Chicken Tempura (330 yen) I don't see this often in izakayas, so I ordered it. It goes well with lemon and mayonnaise. But again, the portion wasn't that big.
■■ Personally, I wasn't that impressed, but it might be good for a casual drink. The dishes were decently tasty, and the 330 yen price tag was indeed cheap, but overall, it was neither great nor terrible. I didn't feel like the value for money was particularly high in terms of portion size. Personally, I would recommend a similar izakaya in Akasaka. However, it is undoubtedly one of the cheaper options in Akasaka, and given that it's always busy, there must be some dishes with good value for money. It seems like a good place for a casual drink, and they also offer lunch, so I definitely want to try that next time.
