On this day, I got off at JR Takanawa Gateway Station, which opened in March 2020, and had lunch at Isehisa, located right across from Takanawa Ogiato, along the Daiichi Keihin. Afterwards, on the way back to the station, I decided to stop by Forest Stand, located in a building on the first floor at the right corner of the Izumigakiji intersection on the Daiichi Keihin. There is a gorilla statue for some reason next to the entrance. Right in front of the back entrance of the shop, there is an elevator A2 of Toei Subway Asakusa Line Izumigakiji Station. I entered the shop around 11:26 am, and there were no other customers at that time. However, during my stay in the shop, 4 or 5 customers came in to take out lunch boxes. Delivery drivers also came to pick up orders. There were three types of lunch boxes stacked in front of the cash register counter, and salads and side dishes were lined up on the refrigerated shelf in the back right. When I asked the female staff member who was right in front of the cash register counter if I could eat in, she said that the shop is mainly for takeout. However, when I mentioned that I only wanted a drink, she kindly allowed me to sit on a box chair placed diagonally in front of the cash register counter. I ordered the Sesame Yogurt smoothie for 850 yen (tax included) out of the three smoothie options. It was ready in about 2 minutes, and it came with a 1 bite (mini cake size) wrapped in oil paper. The Sesame Yogurt smoothie was made by blending soy milk, yogurt, black sesame, banana, and apple. Compared to the quite satisfying lunch boxes displayed in the shop for 750 yen (tax included), the 850 yen (tax included) smoothie seemed a bit expensive, but when I tasted it, it was rich and each ingredient's flavor was distinct. The quantity was also sufficient, and I was very satisfied with the drink. The box chair I sat on seemed to be for customers waiting for their takeout orders, but the direct sunlight through the glass hit my back. It would be quite hot in the middle of summer, and sitting for a long time would be quite tough. There was a wall-mounted air conditioner in the kitchen at the back right of the cash register counter, but the entrance door was also open and the sunlight was intense, so it was not very effective. Despite the poor cooling in the kitchen, the three female staff members were very busy moving around, but they were still very cheerful and polite in their service. After finishing the smoothie and returning the empty container to the counter with a "thank you," I was apologized to for the heat, which made me feel more embarrassed for insisting on eating in. If my workplace were nearby or if there was an eat-in space in the shop, I would have definitely wanted to try the lunch boxes as well.
