Yes, finally!? It's my birthday. Normally, I eat a light dinner (without carbs), so I make sure to eat a hearty breakfast or lunch. This time, since it's treated as a trip, I allowed myself to deviate from that style a bit, but I still felt like I was eating a lot (laughs). Since we were just going back home after this, I decided to skip dinner and just focus on enjoying this breakfast, so I booked a stay to have it. Actually, I had planned to have this menu with a friend at a hotel in Kyoto the morning after the Kyoto Marathon in February, but due to my accident, I couldn't make it. When I decided to have a rematch in Tokyo, I remembered a friend posting about this breakfast on their story, so I made a reservation here. Although non-staying guests can also eat here, it's much more cost-effective for staying guests. Not knowing how crowded it would be, I left my room at 6:30 to catch the opening. To my surprise, a few people were already there enjoying breakfast!! There were plenty of seats available, and I managed to secure a window-side counter seat before heading to get some food. The highlight here is the unlimited ikura and the daily seafood and roast beef. The seafood that day didn't have my favorite salmon, but it had red shrimp and tuna. The red shrimp even had the head attached. Normally, I would go for bread at a breakfast like this, but this time, of course, I went for rice!!! I took a little bit of everything and started eating. I had a miso soup packed with ingredients before enjoying the ikura with rice. Even without soy sauce, it was delicious. The sweet red shrimp was also tasty. The other bowl was curry. The meat in it was delicious too! I made sure to try the roast beef as well - not too tough, just the right tenderness. Ah, such a luxurious morning... a breakfast fit for a birthday. I also got some dessert - I think it was "kasu pudding" - with a gentle sweetness that was delicious. The view in front of me was Akihabara Station, and the commuter rush was starting to pick up, with more and more people flowing in. Cities are different after all (laughs). My husband would be thrilled with this breakfast... he'd probably easily eat three bowls (laughs). So, if I have the chance to come to Tokyo again, I might just make another reservation here!
