Located in the basement of Nakano Broadway, this restaurant serves tempura and sushi. If you order a drink, you can add a "daily 10 yen sushi" to your order. The tempura is freshly fried and crispy, perfect for snacking. With no cover charge, the prices are reasonable. On a rainy day, I happened to pass by Broadway and decided to check out this restaurant that caught my interest from previous reviews. There are rows of takeout tempura displayed at the storefront, but there are also mentions of sushi on the sign. I proceeded to the eat-in counter at the back and sat down. The daily 10 yen sushi was listed as "Inada." When you order a drink, you can get up to 5 pieces of 10 yen sushi. A beer costs 550 yen, so a beer plus 5 pieces of sushi would be only 600 yen, which is quite a bargain. The assorted tempura for 750 yen includes shrimp, smelt, lotus root, eggplant, bell pepper, and a mix of seafood and vegetables. The batter is thick, but since it's freshly fried, it's crispy and delicious. The vegetables have a nice texture, and they go well with beer. The sushi, priced at 100 yen per piece, is also reasonably priced. The rice is warm, and the vinegar used has a dominant sourness, but it mellows out and develops a sweet taste after a while. The fish is in good condition, and even the 10 yen sushi had a fatty white fish. The simple interior may seem a bit plain, but the owner is friendly and engaging, making you feel like adding more to your order as you chat with them. It's a good place for a casual drink and snack with a friend or two.

I felt like having some light tempura, so I went to Nakano Broadway. It's easy to get a seat at the counter even if you're alone. The place is run by the master and the mistress, so it can get quite busy. Sometimes it's a bit hard to place an order when the regulars are chatting with the master, but it's manageable. They don't have a wide variety of sushi, but they serve freshly fried tempura, which is nice. They are closed on Wednesdays, and they will be closed on August 14th and 15th for the Obon festival.

I visited for lunch. The place is located on the basement floor of Nakano Broadway. It is a collaboration between a tempura restaurant and the "Unnamed Sushi Restaurant" in Shinjuku Kabukicho. I enjoyed a tempura set meal and delicious sushi for only 10 yen per piece. I would like to visit again.

There is a shop on the basement floor of Nakano Broadway! I went there on a Sunday afternoon and luckily it wasn't crowded, so we were able to get in right away. If you order a drink or a meal set, you can order up to 15 pieces of sushi for only 10 yen each! When I went, it was yellowtail sushi! The sushi was small so even women can eat 15 pieces! If you're hungry... haha It was nice to have the sushi made right in front of us. The tempura was also crispy and delicious ❤️ They mentioned that the sushi shop is closed on some days, so it's best to check the notice posted at the store. In April, they seemed to have a high rate of being closed on Mondays. It was great to have some delicious sushi and drinks quickly!

In the basement of Nakano Broadway, there is a sushi restaurant where you can enjoy today's recommended 10 yen sushi, limited to 15 pieces per person! Today's special is 10 yen for one piece of yellowtail sushi. We went with 4 people, so we couldn't eat more than 60 pieces. The rule is that you must order a drink to be able to eat. They also serve freshly fried tempura that is crispy and delicious. Freshly made sushi and crispy tempura, the best combination!

Located in Chiyoda, a 5-minute walk from Nakano Station North Exit in Tokyo, this tempura and sushi restaurant offers a B set for 1240 yen. Upon entering at 1 pm, there were 3 customers already seated and 1 customer arrived after us. It seems like takeout might be their main focus. This was my third visit, and both previous times I was unable to order the 10 yen sushi, so this time I ordered the set menu that includes it. The B set includes a combination of tempura and sashimi, but the portion seemed a bit small with only 4 pieces of tempura and 2 slices of sashimi. After quickly finishing the meal, I ordered 4 pieces of the 10 yen sushi, which today was yellowtail. The rice was a bit small, but the fish had a slightly chewy texture. Overall, it was a satisfying meal!

Located on the basement floor of Nakano Broadway, this tempura restaurant collaborates with the sushi restaurant "Nameless Sushi Restaurant @ Shinjuku." You can enjoy sushi for as low as 10 yen per piece if you meet certain conditions, similar to the Shinjuku location. The reviewer ordered various items such as buri, geso, inari sushi, and more, taking advantage of the special 10 yen sushi deal.

Seafood bowl for 1000 yen in Chiyoda, a 5-minute walk from Nakano Station North Exit in Tokyo. Located in the basement of Nakano Broadway, this restaurant offers both takeout and dine-in options. When I arrived at 2pm, there were no customers, but two more came later. The staff consists of sushi chefs, tempura chefs, and a waitress. The seafood bowl, which arrived about 10 minutes after ordering, contained 8 types of seafood, with a decent but unremarkable selection. While I initially thought tempura might be the main attraction, I found the seafood bowl to be satisfying. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience!

A tempura restaurant in Broadway. I thought it was a takeout deli, but it actually has a dining area inside. I decided to stop by and ordered a Hoppy set for 450 yen, as well as a assorted tempura platter. It seems there is a seating fee of 300 yen for those who order alcohol. The platter included 5 varieties of tempura such as shrimp, fish, and vegetables, all for 650 yen. While casually looking around, the owner mentioned they also serve sushi. I then discovered the "today's super deal" - a yellowtail sushi for only 10 yen per piece! I couldn't resist and ordered two pieces with my companion. Although the sushi was small, it was delicious. The super deal is limited to 15 pieces per person. Despite that, the total bill of 1900 yen for everything was quite reasonable. I didn't plan on it, but it turned out to be a great find.

On the basement floor of Nakano Broadway, there is a tempura specialty shop with a name like "Chiyoda [Unnamed Sushi Restaurant]." They offer a daily special where you can get one piece of sushi for ¥10. The restaurant is not open for sushi business about 4.5 days a month, but they have a compact seating arrangement with a counter for 5 seats and a table for 4 people. There is a cover charge of ¥300 and a mandatory drink order, but they also have a "Today's Super Special" which, when I visited, was yellowtail. The sushi is made quickly and you can choose from other items like inari sushi for ¥30, salted squid for ¥60, salted pollack roe for ¥110, etc. I had 15 pieces of sushi for ¥10 each and left after about 30 minutes. The salted squid and salted pollack roe were served in sushi boats, making it easy to eat with chopsticks. Overall, for the price, I have no complaints and think it's worth it. I will try the tempura next time. Thank you for the meal!

Chiyoda, a 5-minute walk from Nakano Station North Exit in Tokyo, offers Set A for 1000 yen. I had always thought it was a takeout-only shop as I passed by, but today I decided to peek inside. When I entered, I saw a female staff member eating her meal, so I decided to dine in. I arrived at 2 pm and there were no other customers at first, but two more customers came later. Set A includes a choice of two mini rice bowls, so I ordered a bara-chirashi bowl and a tempura bowl. The tempura bowl, featuring shrimp, eggplant, pumpkin, and green pepper, arrived in about 5 minutes. Shortly after, miso soup and the bara-chirashi bowl were served. The bara-chirashi bowl included tuna, mackerel, octopus, salmon, and more. The portion of rice was just right and the meal was delicious. Considering that one bowl costs 500 yen, I thought it was a decent deal. Thank you for the meal!

I generally don't write revisited reviews because it's a hassle. However, I have some additional information that I must share about this restaurant, so I'm writing this review. Surprisingly, the sushi at this restaurant is only 10 yen per piece. It's not a typo for 100 yen, it's really just 10 yen. Originally, this place is a tempura restaurant, but it seems to have a capital relationship with a sushi restaurant called "Unnamed Sushi" in Shinjuku, and now they have two chefs, one for tempura and one for sushi. However, you can't just have sushi for 10 yen without any conditions. You must first order a drink, which is a bit pricey with a draft beer costing 550 yen (tax included). Additionally, an appetizer is required, which costs 300 yen (tax included). Despite this, I decided to enter the restaurant thinking that I could make up for it with the 10 yen sushi. Unfortunately, the draft beer came in a glass instead of a mug, and the appetizer was a fish bone stew with root vegetables. The sushi for 10 yen per piece varies depending on the day, and on this day, it was yellowtail. It seems that yellowtail is often served. The rice was a bit dry, and the yellowtail was slightly lacking in freshness, but considering the fact that the sushi was only 10 yen per piece, I didn't think it was worth complaining about. I had 10 pieces that day, so I only spent 100 yen on sushi, which was a steal. Adding the 550 yen for the beer and 300 yen for the appetizer, the total came to 950 yen. I left the restaurant thinking how lucky I was to have sushi, beer, and change from a thousand yen. However, I want to compare this experience with "Kappa Sushi". The cheapest plate at Kappa Sushi is 2 pieces for 110 yen (tax included), so 10 pieces would cost 550 yen. A medium draft beer costs 429 yen (tax included), bringing the total to 979 yen. While Kappa Sushi doesn't serve appetizers, you can have free pickled ginger as a snack. In other words, although the 10 yen sushi at this restaurant seemed like a great deal, when considering the total cost, it's about the same as Kappa Sushi. So, writing a revisited review was probably unnecessary, but since I've already written it, I'll go ahead and post it.

When I entered the store, it was quite empty, but there were quite a few customers ordering takeout, so it took me almost 20 minutes to get my order. I had the parent and child rice bowl. The chicken tempura made with chicken thigh meat had a crispy coating but the inside was incredibly juicy! There were about 4-5 pieces of chicken tempura in the bowl. The flavor was also quite rich. Sprinkling a little salt or shichimi on top is also recommended. And the half-cooked egg! Wrapped in a fluffy coating, it has a nice bounce to it. Breaking it open reveals a creamy yolk that goes well with the rice, whether you eat it as is or enhance the flavor with some salt. The rice was also well-seasoned with sauce.

I wanted to go to a standing udon noodle place in the basement of Broadway, but it seemed like they had already closed for the day as they were cleaning up. I decided to explore further and found a bento box being sold for 250 yen. It looked like a tempura shop, but at that moment, they only had fried chicken bento boxes available. The fried chicken was a bit overcooked, but the portion was generous. It even came with a cream croquette at this price. I wish they sold these near my workplace.

On May 19, 2019, I visited Chiyoda, a tempura restaurant that had opened about two months prior. Although I pass by the restaurant every day on my way to buy meat at the nearby Takara-ya butcher shop, I never tried their tempura because I prefer freshly fried tempura and their takeout options did not appeal to me. The restaurant closes around 7 pm, which is a bit early for enjoying tempura as a snack with drinks, so I never got the chance to visit until today. On a Sunday evening, my wife and I decided to skip grocery shopping and have an early dinner, so we walked into the restaurant at 5:22 pm. There was only one other customer inside, so we took seats at the counter towards the back. We ordered two draft beers for 480 yen each. Despite the disappointment of the small beer glasses, they were nicely chilled. We also ordered a spring vegetable assortment for 680 yen, as well as individual tempura items like shiitake mushrooms for 100 yen, asparagus for 150 yen, and spring chrysanthemum for 70 yen. We informed the staff that we would share everything, and they cut and fried each item separately. The spring vegetable assortment included taranome, new bamboo shoots, cabbage sprouts, and broccoli. The tempura was served one by one on a tray in front of us, and it was deliciously crispy. We enjoyed dipping them in salt or tempura dipping sauce. We ordered more draft beers in between. After finishing the tempura, we decided to have tendon (tempura rice bowl) before leaving. I ordered the parent and child tendon for 680 yen, which had chicken and egg tempura, while my wife ordered the deluxe tendon for 880 yen, which included two shrimp, whiting fish, lotus root, eggplant, pumpkin, and shishito peppers. Both bowls came with miso soup, and we thought the price was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Overall, this restaurant offers freshly fried tempura at a good price, and their discounted takeout options in the evening make it convenient for customers.

Next to the meat bun shop, a tempura shop recently opened! In the evening, just past 7 pm, they have a 20% off sale on all remaining items right before closing time. The friendly and cheerful old man there makes it enjoyable! His stories are entertaining, so I bought a mixed tempura set at a discounted price! There is also seating available for dining in, but this time I got my order to go. When I got home, I boiled some soba noodles and made tempura soba and a mini tempura rice bowl to eat. It was so delicious!!! There were 2 squid pieces, pumpkin, lotus root, sweet potato, and bell pepper in the tempura! The vegetables were sweet and tasty! The squid was also delicious! I usually don't like bell peppers, but I could eat these! The tempura was still delicious even after some time had passed. I saw on TV Tokyo's "Ariyoshi Iieeeee!" that Ariyoshi was eating tempura musubi! I want to try that next time - the fried buns and inari sushi looked so delicious. I will definitely go back again! I'll aim to slowly try everything on the menu.

On the basement floor of Nakano Broadway, a small tempura shop has opened next to the popular meat bun shop "Handmade Dim Sum, See You Tomorrow." They mainly offer takeaway tempura, fried buns, and inari sushi, but you can also dine in and enjoy tempura rice bowls and tempura set meals. I quickly noticed a draft beer tap at the back of the shop and sat at the counter to order a draft beer (480 yen + tax). You can order tempura dishes individually, so I requested lotus root (70 yen + tax), shiitake mushrooms (100 yen + tax), and shrimp (200 yen + tax). I found free pickled radish on the table, so I decided to have that while waiting for the tempura to be ready. The tempura sauce was slightly sweet, and the tempura had a light and fluffy texture compared to a similar priced chain like "Tenya." Interestingly, the prices are different for dine-in and takeaway. Vegetables like lotus root cost 70 yen + tax for dine-in but only 50 yen + tax for takeaway, making it about 30% cheaper. Therefore, it's wise to first order some tempura for takeaway, then buy canned beer from a nearby store, pick up the tempura when it's ready, and enjoy it at home or in a nearby park. So why did I choose this shop for my first food review back on Eatery after a long break? Well, this shop used to be called "Tentai" and was located across from the ramen shop "Aoba" in the past. After operating for 2-3 years, it moved about 200m north. However, it eventually closed down. Now, it has reopened in Nakano under the name "Chiyoda." It made me remember the days of "Tentai" and inspired me to return to the food review scene in Nakano. I may not be as active as before, but I look forward to sharing more food experiences with you.

I tried the 10 yen sushi where the daily 10 yen toppings are a surprise. I ordered 10 pieces, but they were small and the toppings weren't that great. But for 10 yen, I can't really complain. If there were more impressive options, I would consider going back. I also tried some tempura like shirako. The owner was very kind.
