A cafe operated by Muji located in Ueno Marui. I had lunch there. You can choose a main dish and a side dish, which come with rice, miso soup, and salad, following a cafeteria-style setup. You can choose between white rice and multigrain rice, as well as the portion size. The main dishes range from hearty options to vegetable-based ones. The interior of the cafe is also clean and new, making it a nice spot for a quick lunch.

I have used MUJI Cafe several times, but this was my first time at the Ueno store! I forgot the name, but they had a limited edition cheesecake that was different from the usual. The glass was quite large, so I always feel like I get a lot of drink for my money ☺️ Thank you for the meal!

I stopped by MUJI for shopping since my intended store was closed, and decided to take a coffee break there. The store was spacious, with simple and stylish wooden tables and chairs. The coffee was great, and the caramel sauce on the pudding was delicious. I wish there was one nearby. Thank you for the meal!

There were quite a few male customers as well as female ones. The atmosphere was calm and the clientele was mature, which I really liked. You first secure a seat and then order and pay at the counter. You can choose between white rice and mixed grain rice, and also select the portion size. They provide both cold and room temperature water, which was convenient. There is also Free Wi-Fi available. I had the main set with 2 deli items for 1,450 yen, and added an iced coffee set for 280 yen. Personally, I felt like the salad portion could have been a bit bigger. With the 2 deli items, I felt just about full.

A slightly late cafe visit at the MUJI store in Ueno Marui, which is spacious and a hidden gem. Ueno doesn't have many relaxing cafes, so this place is highly recommended. Since it was a bit early for dinner, I decided to use the cafe. The classic pudding and yuzu squash pudding tasted much better than before. The yuzu squash was refreshing.

Feeling tired, I took a break at the Muji Cafe in Ueno Marui. My wife had a coffee jelly parfait (600 yen) and black soybean tea set (280 yen). I had the Uji matcha terrine (750 yen) and a cafe au lait set (350 yen). The cafe au lait was easy to drink. The Uji matcha terrine was rich and heavy. I had trouble moving the acrylic board. Some tables allowed for adjusting the position, but the one we were seated at was not adjustable.

I visited the MUJI cafe out of curiosity without knowing they had one. I chose a seat first and put a plate as a marker before lining up. Since it was lunchtime, there was quite a line for ordering food. Even if you only want a drink, you still have to line up there! It was an unexpected wait, but I ordered a "Coffee Float" for 680 yen. The soft serve ice cream was especially delicious.

I always wanted to visit Mujicafe. I arrived on a Sunday around 2 PM and had to wait a bit as a solo diner. Although there were empty seats, it took a while to be seated because the staff seemed busy. The food was delicious and I was very satisfied. It was a great opportunity to consume so many vegetables.

When there was a flagship MUJI store in front of Yurakucho Station, I often used the attached Meal Muji. After it closed and reopened in Ginza 3-chome, I would go shopping but never visit the café downstairs. This time, after several years, I visited Meal Muji in Ueno, where they no longer offer the "Choose 3 or 4 dishes set" but instead have a "Choose a main dish + 1 or 2 deli items" option. You can choose from fish, meat, or vegetables for the main dish, but the deli options are limited. On that day, the only choices were "Apple Salad" and "Liver and Konjac with Mustard Dressing." Since it was Sunday night at 7 pm, it seemed like they weren't planning to make more, so I reluctantly chose the Liver and Konjac with Mustard Dressing. I chose shrimp shinjo as my main dish. It came with white rice and miso soup with tofu, fried tofu, and seaweed. The set cost ¥1100 (tax included). First, I had a salad of mizuna and komatsuna. The thick stems of komatsuna made me wonder if it was edible raw, but it was actually easier to eat than celery. The shrimp shinjo had plenty of edamame beans, but the use of okara in the main part made it oddly dry. It was quite different from the shrimp shinjo served in ryokans or traditional Japanese restaurants. The liver side dish had no unpleasant smell, and the mustard paired well with it, making it the most delicious part. The miso soup seemed overcooked, and the rice was cooked perfectly.

I stopped by Ueno Marui to use a coupon I won from a raffle in the past. Luckily, there was a 10% off promotion for Epos card, so I decided to shop and take a break at Muji. The entrance time was just before 4:30 pm on a holiday, and I only had to wait for about 5 minutes. There were plenty of seats and the turnover was good, so I didn't have to wait long. This time, I ordered a cheesecake for 450 yen and a drink set for 200 yen. I was able to use the Ueno Marui coupon at Muji Cafe, along with my friend, and got a 200 yen discount. Also, they accepted the go to eat digital coupon, so I got a free drink as well. The cheesecake was moist and rich, and very delicious. I also enjoyed plenty of black soybean tea. The dessert set comes with a drink for an additional 200 yen. I had a cream mille-feuille with iced coffee for 700 yen. I added soft serve ice cream on top of my iced tea for 490 yen. The paper straw, which is environmentally friendly, gives a nice touch that is typical of this establishment.

When I thought about it, it was my first time having a meal at MUJI. The side dishes all have a small feel to them, but with a variety of options, just peeking into the case is exciting. There are sets with 3 items and sets with 4 items. I wonder if the 4-item set was a better deal? *Shrimp and lemon potato salad is refreshing and delicious. *Meat sauce and mashed potato gratin with corn is a nice combination. It's my kind of flavor. *Tofu hamburger with lotus root is nice. The daikon radish sauce is very tasty. *Corn rice casserole doesn't bring out the essence of casserole much? It feels mixed. There are plenty of seats, so it seems good for when you're short on time. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

On November 7th, I visited a retro-style cafe in Ueno Marui after having a yakiniku lunch with my wife's friend's son. The cafe was not crowded, so we were able to easily find seats. I ordered a "Grape Cider with Skin" which was made by squeezing grapes with the skin on, giving it a healthy and refreshing taste. The cafe offers a variety of healthy menu options, so it's a great place to visit for a relaxing break. The grape cider is a limited-time item, so if you're interested, make sure to try it soon!

Visited around 11:00 on July 10th. Craving something sweet, I went to the café connected to Muji. Melon cream soda for 550 yen and Honwaka sugar pudding for 400 yen. The soft serve ice cream on top of the melon soda is delicious. It has a rich flavor yet refreshing. The melon soda is popular at Muji, with a gentle color and sweetness without synthetic coloring. The pudding is slightly firm with a nostalgic taste, also with a gentle sweetness and refreshing. Even better with whipped cream. Although a bit pricey for Muji, it's nice to relax in the hustle and bustle of Ueno, in the basement of Marui. Thank you for the meal.

Milk crepe set for 500 yen including tax, with a coffee drink for 200 yen including tax. When feeling tired from walking, I often end up at Café&Meal MUJI, as it has a good atmosphere and value for money. I tried the milk crepe for the first time, and it had a layer of whipped cream on top followed by custard cream. It was delicious and I may stick to ordering the milk crepe from now on due to its high quality. Note: This shop does not seem to have books available. I sometimes read food-related books at Café MUJI. Also, the straws have changed to some kind of plant-based material.

After returning from the beauty salon, I happened to be at Marui around lunchtime. I discovered there was a MUJI cafe downstairs. It was lunchtime, but it was not crowded due to the current situation. I chose a set with three deli items and a coffee. The deli included sweet chili fried chicken, sweet potato salad, and chicken breast with mandarin orange sauce. The rice was ginger and hijiki mixed rice. The coffee was served generously in a mug, which lifted my spirits. Perhaps due to the smaller salad plates because of the coronavirus, I felt like the portion size of the deli items had slightly decreased.

At Ueno Cafe&Meal MUJI, I ordered the baked apple parfait and cheesecake. When I'm drinking in Ueno, I always feel like having something sweet in between. At times like that, I always head to MUJI Cafe. The sweets make for a happy moment. Thank you for the meal.
