It's a well-thought-out menu, I must say. The former owner, who single-handedly built a pepper empire, must have been desperate to let go of such a good restaurant. By the way, I also love the hamburgers here. I always struggle to choose between the pepper rice and the hamburger. It would be great if they had a set with both.

With 60 consecutive months of revenue growth, it holds the record for the most consecutive revenue growth in existing stores in Japan! It's amazing, isn't it? I visited around 10 pm on a weekday. The interior has a counter in a U-shape with 13 seats. I ordered the 100% beef chunk hamburger weighing 200g for 994 yen. You pay first. After taking off my tie and waiting for a while, the sizzling beef chunk hamburger arrived on a paper ring surrounded iron plate! I enjoyed eating it while it cooked on the iron plate. Be careful not to focus only on the meat, as the corn, pasta, green beans, and carrots can get burnt. I like the meat and the spicy seasoning. I crave it from time to time.

In a building in Akihabara, I discovered a surviving branch of the nostalgic "Pepper Lunch" restaurant hidden at the back of a game store. Many "Pepper Lunch" branches in Tokyo are switching to "Ikinari Steak" as the customer base in this area tends to have lower spending, which is why this branch probably didn't change its format. The clientele here consists mainly of otaku-type young customers. I couldn't resist entering to try their affordable steak and hamburger combo menu! Unfortunately, the ticket machine is currently out of order, which is a hassle. The freshly ground black pepper they offer is good. However, the steak and hamburger here are not very tasty, possibly due to the overpowering steak sauce they use. Especially the sweet sauce has the power to mask the low quality of the meat. The thin and weak bean sprouts quickly burn, and the meat easily becomes overcooked! The strong sauce flavor, meat texture, and heat alone make the rice very satisfying to eat. In a way, restaurants like this are necessary. I wish they would display prices on the menu without tax...!
