First of all, from a commoner's perspective, when it comes to yakiniku in Ginza, Azabu, Roppongi, etc., the cost performance tends to be a bit off when it exceeds 10,000 yen per person (still on the cheaper side) due to service charges, land costs, and a sense of tension. There is often too much emphasis on the meat alone, with all salt-flavored cuts or A5 marbled beef, and sometimes they serve meat without sauce or perform excessively, offering only curveball cuts of meat! (It's a different story from 20,000 yen onwards!) Ordering rice is often considered taboo! Taking all of this into consideration, "Fuchioka" had a perfect balance. There were no unnecessary performances or strange cuts of meat. The menu was limited. The quality of the meat was just right, not too fatty, and the sauce complemented the meat without overpowering it. You could enjoy the meat on its own, or with rice. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was modern and calming. There were tatami seating options for families and it was also suitable for dates. This place was all about balance! And being able to enjoy charcoal-grilled meat in such an atmosphere was a plus point! For this price, the quality of the meat and service was a rare find! The tongue with salt was, in a good way, the sweetest tongue I've ever had! The harami (salt) and sirloin (sauce) were exactly as expected, with no surprises. As for the skirt steak, I always feel like it's not really yakiniku, regardless of the restaurant. But the satisfaction level was high, with a less fatty and easy-to-eat thick cut of meat. The yukkejang was a bit on the sweet side. It lacked the spiciness usually found in yukkejang. The cold noodles had a unique flavor that you won't find elsewhere, making it a must-try! It was also on the sweet side, but the sweetness was expertly converted into umami. In conclusion, it was a "high-class, commoner-friendly, perfectly balanced yakiniku restaurant"! If you're in the area, be sure to check it out!
