When I went to Akihabara Station in Tokyo for the first time with my son, we visited this restaurant. The prices were reasonable and the food was delicious! The restaurant had only counter seats and was not very spacious, but we were able to get in at a good time. There were two sushi chefs working, and sometimes they put a lot of wasabi, but I still want to go back to this place! There were many foreign customers. The staff were also very friendly. You can go alone, but it's not a place for large groups. My favorite was the scallop and squid sushi.

I went to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant for dinner because I had a big lunch. My go-to dish at conveyor belt sushi restaurants is the salad battleship series. I started with a plate of whelk mayonnaise, which has a delicious crunchy texture. In the end, I ended up eating 3 plates of it. I also had the usual dishes like shrimp, salmon, and mackerel, as well as the most expensive plate in this restaurant, the tuna trio of akami, chutoro, and otoro. I finished off with a crab salad. Conveyor belt sushi for me is all about the salad battleship dishes. (laughs)Whelk Mayonnaise ¥125 x 3Grilled Salmon ¥200Shrimp ¥125Mackerel ¥125Tuna Trio ¥600Crab Salad ¥125Consumption Tax ¥155Total ¥1,705

I visited for dinner. The place is located close to Akihabara Station Electric Town Exit, near Manseibashi. The restaurant only has counter seats. It is a revolving sushi chain located in Shibuya and other big cities. I was able to have a quick dinner. I would like to visit again.

For solo diners, a counter-only restaurant is truly a lifesaver. Families and couples tend to avoid them. On this day, I walked more than 10 kilometers in the morning and decided to have lunch around 1:00 PM at the original sushi restaurant. Located in Akihabara, they offer sushi at affordable prices, making it accessible even to foreign tourists! As expected, there was a foreigner dining there. In January 2023, as the situation with COVID-19 seemed to be calming down, the restaurant was quite empty at 1:00 PM. I was able to enter without waiting in line. I didn't feel guilty about having a beer in the afternoon, probably because I had just finished a 10-kilometer walk. It was a perfect moment for a solo diner! Not many people are willing to accompany me on a 10-kilometer walk (laughs). The taste at the original sushi restaurant, while traditional, was better than the family-friendly conveyor belt sushi places. I had a great time as a solo diner and left the restaurant feeling satisfied. If I get hungry while walking around nearby, I would definitely want to visit again.

For lunch, I decided to have some sushi here. The original sushi here has a slightly sweeter rice, which I personally like. The restaurant was moderately busy. I started with some tuna (bachi) and shrimp. The tuna had a typical tuna flavor and was decent. The shrimp was different from the usual bright-colored sushi shrimp packs, with a lighter color but still enjoyable. It paired well with the rice. It was nice to see reasonably priced tuna cuts on the menu. The sushi chef had a bit of an old-fashioned, somewhat aloof attitude, reminiscent of the past. Overall, I left feeling satisfied.

I visited "Original Sushi Akihabara Manseibashi Store" around 5 pm on a certain day in July 2021. Located about a 2-minute walk from Akihabara Station, the store seemed to cater to inbound customers, but perhaps due to the current situation, there were only 3 other customers in the moderately sized dining area. I sat alone at the counter and directly ordered sushi from the staff. I ordered Squid ¥137→¥104, which seemed to be a complimentary dish as it was different from the regular menu items. There was no announcement, so I was a bit puzzled. The squid nigiri was normal with nothing particularly special. Scallop ¥137: A slightly small scallop nigiri with decent quality for the price. No complaints in particular. Mackerel ¥137: Mackerel with a good texture and size. The vinegar seasoning was not bad. It felt slightly dry, but it provided a satisfactory experience for the price. Complimentary Fatty Tuna ¥104: The fatty tuna nigiri had a rich flavor, although it lacked the gooey texture of fresh fatty tuna. Considering the price of ¥104, it was a great deal. Scallop ¥275: When asked about the size preference, I requested the larger scallop. It had a good bite and was delicious, but the price was double the usual amount. The smaller size might have been a better choice. Conger Eel ¥137: A conger eel nigiri with a texture similar to a pancake and topped with simmered eel liver. I had it as a finishing touch, but unfortunately, the quality was disappointing. This is something they should improve. Overall, it was a decent option for a light sushi dinner. Being in the city center, the prices may be slightly high, but there was fun in choosing cost-effective menu items.

There is no rotating sushi at this place, Sushiro has finally opened in Akihabara. I realized that there are only rotating sushi places here. Even at rotating sushi restaurants, it seems they don't have it. It's a tough time. The only place that used to exist was Magurobito Nakamise store. It has truly become a thing of the past. Now it's just a memory. By the way, is the "mentaiko salad" the real deal? The real deal is expensive. It's probably a mentaiko salad made with shishamo. It has been missing for years. In the past, revolving sushi used to be synonymous with Genroku Sushi. There used to be a Heiroku Sushi store in Ueno. I was planning to go there, but it turned into Junka from Pure Japanese to American chicken (Kenta). The world of food blogs equals nearby rotating sushi equals a phantom menu. Wow, I found the original sushi menu with mentaiko salad clearly listed! Going to the original sushi place makes me excited for some reason. Why? It's time to go. When there is too much free time, people who are mostly sleeping are active. It's honestly not trendy, I thought. It's not very crowded, but surprisingly there are customers. Suddenly, "mentaiko salad" seems kind of uncool. Let's take a break with oysters, horse mackerel, tuna, yellowtail, and medium fatty tuna, etc. Haha, it seems that you can't verbally order at this "original sushi" place anymore. It seems to be the rule to take the plates that are rotating. Other customers silently finish taking the plates in front of them. The purpose of the visit was to check the menu for mentaiko salad. I asked, "Excuse me, do you have mentaiko salad?" The restaurant replied, "We don't have it today." At the time of payment, I confirmed, and the restaurant said, "It depends on the procurement at that time..." Of course, that's understandable. In the end, whether they have mentaiko salad or not, you have to check with the restaurant before entering. The sushi itself was at an acceptable level. It wasn't bad, which was a relief. The overall impression of the sushi was surprisingly good. Since my expectations were low, this nearby rotating sushi place is safe and approved. Therefore, a return visit might be possible depending on the situation with the mentaiko salad.

A chain conveyor belt sushi restaurant with about 30 locations in the Tokyo area. I didn't have time for lunch, so I visited at an odd time in the afternoon. There were only about 3 groups in the restaurant, but the conveyor belt was filled with sushi. I ate about 8 plates for around 1200 yen. If you're looking for cheap sushi, this place offers good value for money in terms of quantity, but the quality is decent as well.

It is about a 3-minute walk from Akihabara Station. The restaurant is located on the first floor and we were seated immediately upon entering. The interior of the restaurant is quite crowded, with even empty seats being filled quickly. Sushi is prepared behind the counter and placed on a conveyor belt. The visual presentation of the sushi, such as the nigiri, is not very impressive. We decided to try the sushi that was rotating on the belt. We had dishes like grilled eel, squid, salmon, sweet shrimp, tuna belly, and yellowtail. The eel was delicious, as well as the squid and salmon. The sweet shrimp had a good balance of rice to shrimp due to the smaller rice portion. The tuna belly was also good despite the lackluster appearance. The yellowtail was average. All the sushi had slightly warm and fluffy rice, which was nice. Most people in the restaurant were quietly eating the sushi that was rotating on the belt. There were many foreigners in the restaurant, perhaps due to its convenient location. It seems like a good restaurant for tourists.

There is no specific type of sushi that must be eaten. Good sushi is sushi that can be eaten deliciously and enjoyably at the moment you want to eat it. This is a type of sushi that preserves the tradition as fast food. We used it as the pre-drinking spot for today's drinking party. After finishing work and feeling too hungry, we decided to have a snack before diving into drinking. We ordered a bottle of beer for two and picked our favorite sushi. We mainly enjoyed fresh blue fish sushi due to the season. It took about 20 minutes. We came at a time when the rotation was good, so fresh sushi was continuously being served. Foreigners, old men, salarymen returning from work, Akihabara-style guys, all kinds of people are smiling in this sushi restaurant. Surely this place is a good restaurant. And the sushi here is definitely good sushi. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Located at the corner of the Wanjobashi intersection, this is the original sushi restaurant. It is a conveyor belt sushi chain with 26 locations in Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Chiba. The first store is located in front of Kameido Station. I stopped by alone around 8:30 pm. When I entered the store, the motherly waitress came out and said, "We have limited items left, but if that's okay with you." It seemed like they were already in closing mode. I decided to have a hot sake (390 yen + tax) and looked for sushi that was still available. I didn't intend to take the ones already on the conveyor belt. I ordered some items from the service menu: gizzard shad (95 yen + tax), tuna (125 yen + tax), and sardine (125 yen + tax). The toppings and rice were on the smaller side. Since many items were sold out, I also ordered tuna (125 yen + tax) and mackerel sushi (125 yen + tax). Next, I had more tuna (125 yen + tax) and natto roll (125 yen + tax). Lastly, I had a spicy tuna roll (125 yen + tax). I enjoyed a variety of sushi, mainly focusing on tuna. This place has a good location, so I imagine there will be more foreign customers coming here for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. This is Japanese sushi.

Today, I didn't have much time for lunch so I went to this place which offers the quickest service. I had ikura (salmon roe), shirauo (icefish), shime saba (pickled mackerel), oysters, engawa (fluke fin), and sweet shrimp. Everything was priced at 125 yen per plate. Thank you for the meal.Visited for lunch on November 29, 2017.

I arrived at the restaurant after work with a hungry stomach. It was a little after 7 pm on a Friday and the place was almost full. However, a customer was leaving just as I arrived, so I was able to sit down immediately. The staff were efficient but also friendly, which made me feel comfortable. (I've been to other places where the staff were efficient but gave off a negative vibe, which ruined the taste of the food that should have been delicious, so I can relate to that.) The turnover of customers seemed quick, and the sushi rotating on the belt looked fresh. The medium fatty tuna was delicious! The cost performance was great! I love seaweed and shellfish, so I couldn't resist the mayonnaise and clam battleship sushi. When I paid at the end of the meal, the cheerful staff made me feel relaxed, and I thought to myself that I definitely want to come back again. I went home feeling happy and content, thinking about what a great find this restaurant was for stopping by after work.

I was drawn in by the 95 yen plate of maguro toro, but I couldn't tell which one it was as the plates were rotating. I ordered maguro toro and bin toro, but when I asked for it, the server pointed to a plate of regular akami that had been rotating for a long time. I skipped the bin toro. There were a lot of plates of dry akagai and old items rotating. When I picked a plate that looked slightly delicious, it turned out to be 500 yen. The color samples for distinguishing between cheap and expensive plates were not clear. Both the quality of the sushi and the service were poor, so I will never go back.

It's delicious. In the suburbs, there are various options like Sushiro and Kura Sushi, but in the city center, this original sushi place seems to be popular. It's cheap. Really cheap. Despite that, the quality of the fish is decent. When I go to a sushi restaurant, I always judge based on whether they can cut the rolls into eight pieces and if they can serve sea urchin as nigiri instead of gunkan-maki. Both were possible here. I think the cost performance is excellent.

First of all, when I entered the restaurant, there was a smell... a sewage smell. Maybe they haven't cleaned the grease trap properly? And the kitchen is visible, and it's dirty!!! On this day, they were offering "Service Toro" for 99 yen, so I ordered that first. The person making the sushi was mumbling something, but they made it. The sushi was on the smaller side, with a lot of sinewy fatty tuna. The taste was okay. Around 9 pm, the sushi chef announced, "We won't be making any more gunkan sushi, this is the last one." Isn't that early? By the way, at this point, a customer who entered was told by the sushi chef, "We don't have much fish left." The customer said, "If you don't have much left, I'll just leave." The sushi chef responded, "Well, we don't have nothing left, it's just that the market was closed today so we don't have much fish." The customer replied, "If you don't have much left, I'll eat what you have. But if a sushi restaurant doesn't have fish, it's pretty much done." Well said ^^; The climax was when I ordered salmon, and the sushi chef said, "Just eat the one that's going around." But there was no salmon going around... Despite complaining, they made it for me, but the cheap salmon tasted a bit watery. I also tried the salmon roe that was going around, and it was okay. The original sushi at Narita Airport had good service and good fish, but is this really the same place? I couldn't even bring myself to take pictures. I won't be going back there again ^^;
