On a day off, I went to a yakiniku dinner at a popular restaurant that I had been curious about since seeing it featured in the media before. I made a reservation a few days in advance. The restaurant was a two-story building with sunken kotatsu tables where you had to take off your shoes on both the first and second floors. It had a nice lively atmosphere, so we were able to enjoy ourselves without feeling too formal. I was worried about the smoke, but it wasn't smoky at all. We ordered: - Tan Shio (tongue salt) 1,980 yen - Kalbi 1,980 yen - Top loin 2,750 yen - Yukkejang soup 935 yen - Medium rice 275 yen The portions of the meat dishes were generous, so even though we only ordered three plates for two people, we were already full! I thought maybe we should have ordered half portions of a few different types of meat. I chose the Tan Shio because I wanted thinly sliced meat, and it was tender with a nice chewy texture and a delicate yet flavorful fat. The thinly sliced Kalbi had no gristle and was juicy, with a sweet and delicious fat that made you want to keep eating white rice. The large cut of top loin was luxurious, soft, and fluffy, with a rich flavor that spread in your mouth as you chewed, perfectly complementing the sauce and making you crave more white rice. The Yukkejang soup had a smooth sweetness at first, followed by a spicy kick. Once you got used to it, the gochujang and soy sauce-based soup became addictive. The fluffy egg, komatsuna greens, bean sprouts, and bracken fern added to the deliciousness. The yakiniku had generous portions and the juicy meat paired perfectly with the delicious sauce, making you want to dig into the white rice! I was completely satisfied with my craving for a hearty yakiniku meal! It was a delicious and cost-effective yakiniku restaurant experience! (◍•ᴗ•◍)✧*.

The restaurant offers delicious cuts of meat such as sirloin, tongue, and kalbi (fatty, so it depends on personal preference). Reservations are a must and there is a lot of smoke. The squid sashimi is also delicious! Rating criteria: 5.0: The best in each category 4.9-4.5: Worth traveling for this restaurant. 4.4-4.0: Would recommend to friends and willing to travel far. 3.9-3.8: Would go at least once a month if within 30 minutes from home. 3.7-3.6: Would consider revisiting. 3.5-3.4: Would go if looking for a meal and it's nearby. 3.3: Average rating. 3.2-3.1: Would go if no other restaurants are available. 3.0-2.6: Would go if there was a miracle. 2.5-2.0: Would choose convenience store bento over this. 1.9-1.0: Worst dining experience.

No matter which meat I ate, it was all really delicious! In particular, the beef tongue was thick and had a satisfying texture, while the premium kalbi had just the right amount of meat juice, not too heavy on the fat, and was perfect without any complaints! The atmosphere of the restaurant and the male staff members were efficient and smooth from taking orders to clearing dishes. When some oil from the meat splattered on my face while cooking, a staff member who happened to be nearby quickly handed me a towel, which was very helpful. I strongly feel like going back again, but since they cook with charcoal and the smoke made my eyes sting multiple times, I think I'll only go there occasionally.

After work, I went for yakiniku for the first time in a while. The restaurant is located on the west side from Kokusai Dori. I visited on a weekday night at 7:30 pm, and made a reservation a week in advance over the phone. We ordered "tanshio" (1980 yen), "kalbi" (1980 yen), "jou harami" (2750 yen), "kimchi assortment" (1320 yen), "garlic slices" (495 yen), and "Asakusa cold noodles (small)" (935 yen), along with a little beer, and it came to just over 10,000 yen for two people. Since it had been a while since I had yakiniku, I had a light lunch and went in hungry. Looking at the menu, the prices were reasonable so I got carried away and wanted to order a lot at once, but my companion stopped me and suggested we add more if needed. In the end, my companion was right, as each dish was quite generous in portion size. We only ended up adding the cold noodles at the end. Despite using good quality meat, the amount and price were great, and each dish was quite large, so I thought it would be best to go with at least 4 people and enjoy eating together in a lively atmosphere at this restaurant.

I visited a yakiniku restaurant that I had wanted to go to for a while. It was past 8:00 pm, but I only had to wait for about 5 minutes before being seated. It's a popular place and the meat was really delicious. Since you cook the meat on a shichirin grill, the restaurant was filled with smoke and the smell of grilled meat really sticks to your clothes, so be mindful of what you wear. I ordered the premium kalbi, seafood platter, namul, and lettuce wraps, along with a few drinks, and the total came to around 8,500 yen, which is a bit on the expensive side. It was a great yakiniku experience after a long time. Thank you for the meal!

Book and Saya @ Asakusa Established in 1977, this long-established yakiniku restaurant allows you to order half portions, which is great! I made a reservation for one and enjoyed a variety of meat dishes. First, I toasted with black oolong tea! Geta ★ Rib loin middle. It comes with a spicy sauce. It looks hefty, but the meat is tender and not too fatty. Special Kalbi ★ Very thick cut. It's like eating a steak. Tender with a refreshing aftertaste due to the low fat content. Top loin gui ★ Rolled with leeks. It has a slight pink color and is filled with leeks. It has a melting texture. Tansuji ★ Spicy flavor with leeks and chili peppers. It paired well with the original chili vinegar. Asakusa Cold Noodles Small ★ Just the right size. The meat inside is tender! Topped with kimchi, boiled egg, and meat to resemble Morioka cold noodles. The noodles are thick and cooked well. The area around the grill is hot! Perfect for the scorching summer! The meat is not too fatty, and the sauce is refreshing! The yakiniku was very delicious. Great volume, plenty of food, and excellent value for money.

Visited the restaurant with a friend 10 minutes before its 5 pm Saturday opening. We were the second customers, and it seemed popular with many reservations and autographs from celebrities on display. We were seated at a table on the first floor where we had to take off our shoes. The restaurant felt a bit old and had a slight musty smell, making it quite warm inside. We ordered Tongue Salt, Marinated Harami, Marinated Kalbi, Marinated Upper Loin, Namul, Mini Cold Noodles, and Rice, each serving for one person. We also had Black Oolong Tea, and the total bill came to 12,000 yen for the two of us. Although we didn't order it, there was also turtle meat available. The Tongue dish had a generous portion, but it was quite salty due to the heavy seasoning of salt and pepper. The other meat dishes we ordered were all marinated and had distinct textures, but the strong marinade flavor seemed to overpower the natural taste of the meat. Personally, I found the Cold Noodles to be the most delicious. If you're looking for a cost-effective yakiniku restaurant in Taito Ward, I would recommend a different restaurant in Uguisudani. If you're curious, give it a try.

The premium kalbi, premium loin (with green onions), premium tongue, premium harami, geta, grilled tendon with salt, tosa salad, namul, oi kimchi, and a large serving of rice were delicious! The space was spacious and the staff were very attentive to children, providing excellent hospitality. The food was so delicious that I ended up ordering too much and couldn't move because I was so full (laughs). I definitely want to go back!

This popular restaurant is best visited with a reservation for two people. The smoke may linger, so it's best to wear clothes that can handle the smell. The thick-cut salted tongue, harami (skirt steak), harami geta (tongue skirt), mino (tripe) sashimi, and white cabbage kimchi are all delicious. You can enjoy high-quality meat at a reasonable price at this long-standing establishment. The meat is thickly cut yet tender, with the harami being a personal favorite. The staff are friendly and efficient. A satisfying meal indeed!

Today's meal was delicious as always, I am always completely satisfied. I won't go into detail about the restaurant since I wrote about it in my previous review. I used to always prefer top sirloin, but recently I have been into regular sirloin. It doesn't have too much fat but is full of flavor, perfect way to end the meal! I was surprised to see so many inbound customers lately. On the first floor, everyone except us were inbound customers. I would be very happy if people from outside Japan could also appreciate the deliciousness of "Hon to Saya" (the restaurant). (But I hope it doesn't become a place with long lines or impossible reservations, sincerely)

I love yakiniku the most here ^_^ I made a reservation for 5:00 pm and visited. The must-order items are premium tongue, premium skirt steak, premium bone-in short rib, premium liver, and salted hormone platter, along with a pea salad. I also ordered a draft beer and white rice. The best way to eat is to dip the yakiniku in sauce, bounce it off the white rice, and then eat it. Lately, I've been finding the short rib too fatty, so maybe just skirt steak and lean meat are good.

During the Obon season, I was able to enter the restaurant after waiting for about 20 minutes without a reservation! Even if you order just one serving, the portion is really generous! (laughs) And no matter which part you eat, it's really delicious. Personally, the salted beef tongue is exceptional ♩ Despite being busy, the dishes are served quickly, which is really helpful. It was my first visit in a year, but as always, the walls were covered with signatures, showing that this restaurant is loved by many people ♩

In our household, where we eat slowly, we have a two-hour time limit for our meal. It's great that most of the menu items can be ordered in half portions, so even with just two people, we can try a variety of dishes. The Upper Tongue Salt (one serving) has a crispy texture and a delicious sweetness that never disappoints. It's nice to be able to enjoy different flavors of tongue in one dish. The Upper Sirloin Gui is served with a special sauce and topped with sliced green onions, which help to refresh the taste of the sirloin. The Bone-in Upper Galbi is not only delicious in terms of meat quality but I also enjoy the meat around the bone. The salted hormone intestines were all fresh and tasty. The Samgyeopsal is thick and juicy, with a different taste from beef. The highlight of this meal was the Upper Harami, where you can truly savor the flavor of the meat itself. I definitely want to order a full serving of this next time. Finally, we had the Teuk Tang soup and Asakusa cold noodles in a small size. The Teuk Tang soup was hot and spicy, and very delicious. I'm sure it would be tasty with noodles or rice added. The soup of the Asakusa cold noodles had a clean and refreshing flavor, and the beef slices served with it were also very tasty. I look forward to coming back when I can make a reservation. Thank you for the meal.

In Asakusa, there is a super popular yakiniku restaurant called "Yakiniku Hyakumeiten" on Tabelog. I decided to make a last-minute reservation the night before and visited for lunch. The restaurant was fully booked on the day of my visit, so I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. Despite being fully booked every day, they were kind enough to accept a solo diner like me, which made me very happy! I was guided to the second floor, where there was a spacious sunken kotatsu-style seating area. It was very relaxing (*´-`). The walls were covered with autographs of famous people. I had already decided on my order before going there: - Premium Kalbi - Premium Harami - Premium Tongue (salted) - Chinese cabbage kimchi - Large portion of rice - Oolong tea With just these items, the bill was under 10,000 yen. Each item was thickly sliced and satisfying to eat. Because it's an old-fashioned restaurant in the downtown area, the slightly unrefined appearance actually seemed charming and endearing... haha. Especially the Harami and Kalbi were as thick as steaks, but grilling them over charcoal cooked them through perfectly, bringing out their delicious flavors. It almost felt like my grilling skills had improved, thanks to the restaurant! Thanks to that, the large portion of rice disappeared from my plate in no time. After having parfait before, I resisted the temptation to get a rice refill. The kimchi was also delicious (quite a large portion for one person). It's great that you can make a reservation for a yakiniku restaurant of this caliber the day before. The staff were all energetic and friendly, moving around efficiently, creating a comfortable and enjoyable solo dining experience. Asakusa is a fiercely competitive area with numerous yakiniku restaurants, so it's no wonder this place is so popular. When you're in yakiniku mode in Asakusa, make a reservation at this restaurant for a guaranteed great experience!

I was invited by a friend to a restaurant I hadn't been to in 25 years, Hon Tosaya. The thick, charcoal-grilled meat had the same satisfying texture and taste as before. The salted beef tongue was also delicious, although I forgot to take a picture of it. But the best dish this time was definitely the beef skirt steak! Despite the smoke from the charcoal making my eyes sting, Hon Tosaya was as delicious as ever. It's a great yakiniku restaurant!

The salt and pepper seasoning of the tan salt is so delicious that you can keep eating endlessly with rice, and even receive encore requests from companions. The higher the grade of the kalbi, the more it resembles a thick steak. The marbling of the top loin is reminiscent of the highest grade in a department store basement. While trendy high-end yakiniku restaurants emerge, the traditional charm of the longstanding establishments remains unshaken.

I visited around 6:00 PM on a weekday and there were 2 groups waiting ahead of us. I left my phone number and waited for about an hour, but it was nice that I could kill time elsewhere. The Tan-shio (tongue salt) was thick yet tender, and the fat was just right! The raw liver and intestines were delicious too! I had a few beers and highballs, and the total for two people was around 18,000 yen. It was a bit pricey, but the quality of the meat justified the cost. The restaurant was filled with autographs of famous people, and it was truly a delicious place to dine!

My favorite yakiniku restaurant. This time I was able to have the upper harami, which was amazing. The A set was impressive with upper tongue, special kalbi, upper loin, and upper tripe. As always, the sauce and meat were delicious. After that, I went to a cafe and had rice as usual, and finished with cold noodles because it was hot.

It had been a while since I visited Hon to Saya. I arrived at 18:30 without a reservation and was promptly seated. The seating was on the first floor, which I had a bad feeling about, and as expected, the smoke was thick and my whole body was covered in it. I couldn't help but think that if the duct caught fire, it would be the end. Despite my eyes stinging from the smoke, I enjoyed the yakiniku. Once you're in this restaurant, you're lucky to get a seat, so I couldn't complain about the location (lol). Today, I ordered the Tosa salad, premium tongue, premium harami, and premium loin. The premium loin was so delicious that I ordered more! As always, the food was delicious. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.
