Trasparente, a popular bakery with its main store in Naka-Meguro, will open its first branch in the Joto area in April 2023, located inside the complex facility "Kuramae JP Terrace." The head chef, Morishima, who trained in Italy, started with five people in Naka-Meguro in 2008 and has expanded to 13 stores, becoming famous among bread lovers. They offer a wide range of bread from hard to soft, including Italian-style sandwiches like panini. The classic breads found in other branches are also lined up, creating an exciting sight. The "Salsiccia" for 410 yen, a sausage and cabbage with cheese, caught my attention with the caption "Tastes like mom's cooking." The bread itself is delicious, with a crispy outer layer and a soft, chewy inside. The sausage is juicy and spicy, offering a satisfying meaty texture, while the sweetness of the cabbage and the subtle saltiness of the cheese create a perfect balance. The overall quality is outstanding, a true testament to Chef Morishima's skills.

Transparente La Cartolina is located on the 1st floor of the JP Lion Building in the complex facility "Kuramae JP Terrace," which includes a tower mansion. When I visited during the open house day at Kuramae JP Terrace in April, the seating arrangement for dining in had changed, with fewer counter seats. The Kuramae branch, like the Naka-Meguro branch, is a long and narrow shop with glass walls and high ceilings. All the bread is made from scratch in the shop, with over 80 varieties baked fresh daily. Today's purchases: Rustic Bread for 293 yen and Boul for 305 yen. It seems that it only gets crowded on weekends so far; on weekdays, you can make your purchases while carefully choosing.

I stopped by a bakery called "TRASPARENTE La Cartolina" because I wanted to buy a little bit of bread. It is located near Kuramae Bridge in Kuramae, inside the Kuramae JP Terrace. It is part of the "TRASPARENTE" chain found in places like Naka-Meguro. The shop is bright inside with glass windows, and there is a workshop in the back. The glass case displays delicious-looking bread, and there are small counters inside as well as terrace seating outside where you can enjoy drinks. I bought the following items this time:
- "Tokachi-produced Sweet Red Bean Butter Sandwich" for 270 yen. It is described as a sweet and salty ciabatta bread with plenty of Tokachi-produced sweet red bean and butter. The bean paste has a nice sweetness, and the bread itself has a salty taste, creating a good balance.
- "Ham, Spinach, Mozzarella Panini" for 635 yen. It is a panini filled with melted mozzarella cheese, ham, and crunchy spinach salad. The combination of the salty ham, melted cheese, and fresh spinach is delicious. It is recommended to heat it up before eating.
- "Salsiccia" for 410 yen. It is described as a juicy sausage with cabbage and cheese, reminiscent of Chef Mori's mother's taste. The juicy sausage is wrapped with crunchy cabbage, and the cheese adds a nice touch. The bread is moist and delicious.
The bread from TRASPARENTE is indeed delicious. While it may be a bit of a trek to visit their other stores in places like Naka-Meguro, this location is convenient for a quick visit. I would like to come back again. The building where the shop is located is Kuramae JP Terrace, which is associated with Japan Post, hence the shop card design resembling a stamp or postal mark.

Next to the new building of the post office is a stylish bakery. The quality of the corn soup is high. When dining in, they will cut the bread for you if you ask. The quality of the drinks is also high, with black sugar drink being a favorite. I visited for lunch on this day. The way the chocolate is incorporated is unique, and I ordered my favorite bread as well as a sausage-filled bread for lunch. It's a nice bakery where you can relax and enjoy your time.

Recently, 365 Days has rated Pan and espresso-based drinks at 3.3 for cost performance, but I would rate this place at 3.5 as it is not as expensive and the taste is more suitable for everyday use. The abundant chocolate flavor in the Chocolata is so good that you can eat as many as you want! 😄

First visit. Visited on Sunday at 14:30. No waiting time. About a 5-minute walk from Exit A1 of Kura-mae Station on the Toei Asakusa Line. Located on Kura-mae Street near Kura-mae Bridge, on the ground floor of the Lion Corporation headquarters building, a new and clean store. The interior is based on wood tones and white walls. There is also an eat-in space. As for the menu, there are many breads lined up in the showcase. A wide variety of types available. Personally, there are many types of bread that I like. Many breads that highlight the ingredients and look delicious.
---
What I ate:
- Natural Pumpkin Bread (250 yen)
- Plain Scone (320 yen)
- Pan Care (209 yen)
"Natural Pumpkin Bread": A bread with pumpkin paste in a chewy dough. When I heard "pumpkin," I had to buy it! The pumpkin paste was a natural color without any unnecessary seasoning, which was reassuring. It was incredibly delicious! The sweetness was mild, allowing the taste of the ingredients to shine through. It paired perfectly with the dough. It was so delicious that I went back the next day to buy more, but it wasn't available... I can't wait for the next pumpkin season.

Route of the day's food tour:
Kura-mae Station -> McLean-OLD BURGER STAND (Burgers/Kura-mae) -> Yurine (Cafe/Kura-mae) -> Kashiya Shinonome (Bakery/Kura-mae) -> TRASPARENTE La Cartolina (Bread/Kura-mae) -> TET Brasserie & Cafe (Italian/Kinshicho)

This is a valuable shop where you can enjoy delicious bread even on weekends. When you enter the shop at opening time, you will see various types of bread displayed, making it hard to decide. I ordered a Grano bread with edamame and bacon, a coffee cream bread, and a coffee to enjoy at the counter seat by the window. The shop has a high ceiling and an open atmosphere, allowing me to leisurely enjoy the delicious bread. I also like the toast made from their bread, which is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

The butter sandwich was incredibly delicious. The butter melted smoothly and was creamier than other shops. The bread itself was very sweet in taste. There were also many varieties available, so I would like to try a hard type of bread next time. It was delicious.

Located just after passing through Kuramae Bridge from the Chiba direction. A tenant in the newly rebuilt post office. The interior has 4 seats and a terrace with 4 seats. You have to ask the staff to get the bread. I think it's a French-style bread. The corn soup comes in different sizes, served in paper cups or bowls. It has plenty of fresh corn and tastes like restaurant-quality corn soup, which I appreciate. The cheese pie has a nice contrast between the cheese and the pie, which is easy to eat and to my liking. I also like the chocolate taste of the chocolate tart. It's a relaxing atmosphere where you can spend a good time. I always order the brown sugar drink because I like the taste.

A popular bakery branch located near Kura-mae Bridge, just across from Chiba. It is next to the post office in a brand new building with a green atmosphere. If the weather is nice, there is a terrace seat on the premises. Inside the store, there are counter seats facing the window for up to 4 people. The staff will serve you from the showcase. They offer a variety of bread, from hard French bread to soft bread. I think it's the most delicious cafe and bakery. The corn soup has a fresh corn flavor. You can also request to have your bread sliced if you eat in. I visited for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised to find lots of vegetables inside the sausage bread. The bread is hard but has a good level of chewiness. I enjoyed it. I marveled at how well gorgonzola and honey go together. It's a bakery where you can enjoy delicious bread.

Around 11:15 on the weekend. A popular bakery in the vicinity of Naka-Meguro. It just opened in April, so it's still a hidden gem. There were no customers at first, but they started coming in one after another. It seems like many locals come for takeout. By 12:00, it was bustling with customers.
- Ham, Spinach, Mozzarella Panini (tax included ¥646)
- Grano (tax included ¥361)
- Hot Coffee (tax included ¥570)
For dine-in, they warm up the food and cut it for you! The panini is crispy when toasted. It's colorful with tomatoes and has a gentle flavor with soft mozzarella. The Grano is crunchy with plenty of edamame and rich in flavor! The deep-roasted hot coffee is also piping hot!

The shop has 4 counter seats and only 1 terrace table for 4 people. More than 90% of the customers are for takeout. The "Uguisu Bean Natural" bread (including tax 250 yen) is fluffy and chewy with a hint of sweetness from the uguisu beans kneaded into the dough, but there could be a bit more beans for a better balance.

Kuramae [Trasparente La Cartolina] Tabelog 3.06, open every day ⏰ 8:30-18:00, customer service♀️ Yes, official account, payment options: cash, card, electronic money, #PayPay accepted. Finally visited this newly opened bakery in Kuramae on April 1st! I once happened to visit a store near Gakugeidaigaku Station and thought it was delicious, wishing it was closer, and now they have opened in Kuramae, which makes me so happy! Visited with a friend around 10 am on a weekday for breakfast. It was not crowded, but customers were steadily coming in. There was only one seat available on the outdoor terrace, so we sat there! The temperature was just right, and it was pleasant✨
◉ Conmiere ◉ 361
A long, slender bread! They can cut it in half or into quarters for you✂️ I had it cut in half♀️ Sage butter and honey are used. It was described as salty, but I didn't feel that much saltiness! It was more on the sweet side! Instead of granulated sugar, there were chunks of sugar that added a crunchy texture, and it was delicious. The bread was more on the hard side but also had a chewy texture, which I like!
◉ Croque-Monsieur ◉ 443
The croque-monsieur here was a bit different, sandwiched in an English muffin? It had more substance compared to a regular croque-monsieur and was delicious.
◉ Cafe Latte ◉ 645
The cafe latte from a bakery at 645 yen seemed a bit pricey to me, but it was a nice accompaniment to the bread☕️ There are still many types of bread to try, so I will definitely come back! They open early in the morning, so it's recommended for breakfast too!
Thank you for reading until the end♀️

Between Kuramae Police Station and the post office. Both the soft and hard textures of the pastry are delicious, but like Naka-Meguro, they tend to be overbaked. I chose the fig and cherry mini Danish "Gatti," which is crispy and costs 180 yen. The not-too-spicy baked curry is also tasty.

Located just after passing through Kuramae Bridge from the Chiba direction. This tenant is inside a newly built post office. Unfortunately, you can't see the river from here. There are 4 seats inside and 4 seats on the terrace, but on this rainy day, the terrace seats are inside. The bread seems to be French-style. The corn soup comes in different sizes, with the option of a paper cup or a bowl, which is great when you want a lot of soup. The cheese pie has a nice contrast between the cheese and the pie, and the pie itself is crispy and easy to eat. The hearty sausage sandwich makes for a relaxing lunchtime atmosphere.

Located just after passing through Kura-maebashi from the Chiba direction. It seems to be a tenant in the newly built post office. Visited based on information from my younger brother. The interior of the shop has 4 seats and a terrace with 4 seats. The bread seems to be French-style. You have to ask the staff to get the bread. The filled bread has a chewy texture and generous fillings. The chocolate bread has a unique vertical shape with plenty of chocolate, making it a must-try. The mini pies come in various fruit flavors and are delicious. The corn soup is rich in sweet corn and has a high-quality taste. The black sugar latte has a strong black sugar flavor and is incredibly smooth and delicious. The attentive customer service, such as asking if you would like the bread cut when dining in, is impressive. Overall, it is a very good bakery.

Trasparente, located in Naka-Meguro and Gakugei-daigaku, has opened a new store in Kuramae. The interior has a counter, and there is also outdoor terrace seating available.
- Salsiccia (Sausage) - ¥380: The sausage in the chewy dough is delicious, with a nice crunch from the cabbage inside.
- Cheese Curry Bread - ¥385: A curry bread with cheese inside. The curry is rich and flavorful, and the bread is crispy and tasty.
- Pork Terrine Sandwich - ¥612: A small baguette sandwich with pork terrine. The bread has a nice texture, and the terrine is delicious with olives and cornichons as accents.
- Plain Scone - ¥297: A fine-textured, crispy scone that is a bit like a cookie.
- Crema - ¥343: A bread with fermented cream. The layers are beautiful, and the slightly crunchy dough is delicious.
- Cold Brew Iced Coffee: Surprisingly delicious. With a variety of options, it's nice to have this around here.

I visited Trasparente La Cartolina, a popular bakery in Naka-Meguro that opened near Kura-mae Bridge on April 1st. I went there in late April and ordered Gatti (fig) for 183 yen, Carne White Chocolate for 224 yen, Panbrie for 392 yen, and Chocolata for 377 yen. The bakery had a variety of sweet, savory, and hard breads to choose from. The place was not crowded, and I was able to take my time selecting the bread. I ordered Gatti and Carne White Chocolate for dine-in, and Panbrie and Chocolata for takeout. The bread was delicious, and the Panbrie, made with original Kura-mae dough, looked beautiful. You can also order drinks, including soup. The seating inside consists of a counter by the window and a large table outside. Overall, I had a great dining experience at this bakery.

Opened on April 1st at the mixed facility "Kuramae JP Terrace". It seems to be the first store in the Joto area. It's close to Clamae Canule, so it's convenient. The information on Tabelog and Google Maps is slightly different, but it's located between Kuramae Bridge Post Office and Kuramae Police Station. There is no signboard outside, and the glass-walled interior makes it difficult to see the bread from outside, so it's not immediately obvious that it's a bakery. Although the depth is narrow, there are a few counter seats, and eating inside the store is also possible. Gatti 4 types @180, Croissant 300, Panprier 385. I have bought Gatti at the affiliated Panis Da Vinci (Iidabashi) before, and it was delicious. The size is easy to eat, but the price has increased quite a bit, right? It's delicious, but overall it's a bit on the expensive side. Panprier was a simple milk bread. Trasparente was a first for me this time. There are many famous stores here, so I plan to try them out one by one.

There is a stylish bakery on the first floor of a new building near the company, and it seems that Lion's headquarters is located on the upper floors. The trendy interior is filled with slim office ladies slipping in between. Ordering is a bit mysterious with a wide variety of options, so I stood in front of the showcase for a while feeling hesitant. Finally, I got a chance to order and was able to buy some bread.
- Croissant (300 yen): The outside is pleasantly crispy, while the inside is soft and fluffy. Unlike the type of croissant that crumbles everywhere when you eat it, this one is easy to eat. The scent of wheat is also wonderful.
- Cranberry Cream Cheese (300 yen): I ate it while drunk, but the crispy outer bread with cream cheese and cranberry jam was a perfect match. It's quite small, so it's a bit pricey.
- Rustic Bread (293 yen): This one is made with whole wheat flour, I think. The wheat flavor is strong, and the chewy texture is delicious. The bread is stylish and tasty, but a bit on the expensive side. I'll go buy some again if I feel like it.
