This is a review of the restaurant "Mizunogou Kyogoku" at the Michi-no-Eki (Roadside Station) named Mizu no Gou Plaza. I ordered their recommended dish, "Natural Spring Water Soy Sauce Ramen". I wasn't sure how much the taste would change using the natural spring water, but the ramen was very delicious. It was light in flavor. When you order a meal, you can get one drink and one miso soup for free from the drink bar. I was a bit surprised to receive miso soup with my ramen order, but I decided to try it. It was quite crowded with many people on holidays, so the service for taking orders was a bit slow. This is just my personal diary, so please do not rely on my evaluation or comments.

I had soft serve ice cream at the shop next to Kyōgoku Meisui Plaza. It was a scorching hot day, so I walked around Fukiage Park and worked up a sweat before ordering. The sweetness and coldness of the soft serve on my sweaty body felt like an oasis in the desert ♥️♥️ Although it started melting as soon as I got it, I devoured the soft serve in just two bites ♥️♥️ Don't worry, it didn't overflow! The flavor was just right, not too rich, and it provided a sweet relief from the heat. I truly appreciated the significance of eating soft serve on a hot summer day. Soft serve on days like this is like a drink! It was so delicious (;´Д`)ﾊｧﾊｧ (;´Д`)ﾊｧﾊｧ I want to eat it again ♥️♥️

Don't underestimate the restaurants at roadside stations. The soba and ramen are quite good. I especially liked the ramen with a strong garlic flavor, which is to my liking. I may not be able to go there often, but the taste makes me want to go back again.

I visited around 12 o'clock on a regular day. The place was bustling with both tourists and locals. I ordered the Makkari herb pork loin cutlet set meal for 1280 yen after looking at the menu. They offered a complimentary drink from the drink corner, and I chose the Kyoto's Mizu no Mizu cold brew coffee, which was incredibly delicious. I highly recommend it. The tonkatsu wasn't too thick and had a delicious taste.

During a trip in Hokkaido, on the way from Hakodate to Sapporo, I stopped by Fukidashi Park at the foot of Mt. Yotei, where the famous Fukidashi spring water is located. There was a rest area called Michi no Eki Kyogoku at the park, so I decided to have lunch there. I ordered the Duck Nan Soba (980 yen), which was a normal dish in terms of taste and price. However, the good thing was that a drink and miso soup were included as a service. I got a paper cup and went to the drink bar to get a drink, then received miso soup and returned to my seat. The duck meat and grilled leeks were fragrant and tasted good, making me a little happy with the meal. Although the restaurant also served Genghis Khan (grilled mutton), I had plans to have a high-end Genghis Khan for dinner that night, so I ended my lunch with this meal. My colleague bought bread at the rest area, but it was not very tasty, even though the water used should have been good...

Long time no see! Located halfway around Mt. Yotei! Got the usual Niseko tofu! Niseko Shirayuki tofu 400 yen. While leisurely looking at the shops outside, I found containers for drawing water from Kyojyo. I didn't bring an empty PET bottle, so I consulted the shop assistant. Can I carry 2L? It's like carrying 2kg of rice! Alright, I'll take this! PET bottle 400 yen. Bought the 2L container. Now, let's go to the spring water! The sound of water. Descending. Not sure if it's climbing or descending, but a little hike. Wow! Is this for real? Spring water from Mt. Yotei. Spring water that took about 8 years to come out. Admired Mt. Yotei. I can't leave without drawing this water. It was closer than I thought. A stream guiding the spring water, like a flowing somen noodle. Had a great experience. From now on, I will draw water from Mt. Yotei every time I go!

It's a drive towards Niseko area♪ Unfortunately, due to the rain, there were some changes in plans (^▽^;) First, we'll have lunch at the Meisui Plaza in Fukidashi Park. Meisui Plaza is a commercial facility located in "Michi no Eki Kyogoku" in Fukidashi Park in Kyogoku Town. This time, we skipped Fukidashi Park itself due to the rain (^^;) We'll have Genghis Khan at the restaurant! I really like the Genghis Khan here♪ ※This time, we'll have the tender lamb due to the companion's preference. The photo shows 4 servings. Miso soup and drinks are self-service. We had the drinks after the meal. Alright, let's dig in♪ The lamb is tender, without a strong taste, and delicious♪ I feel like having a beer (laughs) ※The driver can't drink, right? There is water drip coffee made with famous water at the drink bar. Of course, we'll have that. It was refreshing and a bit bitter. It was delicious! Next time, I'll bring someone who can drive and have beer and Genghis Khan! I'll visit again♪

Soft Genghis Khan for 1100 yen, medium-sized beer for 550 yen. Inside the restaurant at the Michi-no-Eki Kyojaku Fukidashi Park, the spacious interior ensures a safe dining experience. In the summer, you can also dine on the terrace! The beer (ﾟДﾟ)ﾉ, a medium-sized glass of Ichiban Shibori, goes down like water on a hot day. Let's grill some meat! Order the "Soft Genghis Khan" on its own. It's super tender in the sizzling hot pot (*´艸`). The lamb has no gamey smell, and the meat is just right with a good amount of fat. When you order a meal, you get a free soft drink and miso soup. Might as well take it! Otherwise, you'll feel like you missed out and that's just cheap (〃>З<)ﾌﾟｯ. A little green tea as a chaser, and the miso soup, though just a small amount, warms your stomach. Thank you for the meal (^ω^)

I stopped by for a little break. They have Mushroom Kingdom products lined up. I love the crunchy white soy sauce pickles - I eat them with grated daikon radish. There's a lot in the pack, so you can eat a lot. I've seen different packaging for Meisui Coffee before, but I'll get it as a souvenir of my trip. They also have coffee jelly.

It's still before 1 pm on a holiday and only one table is occupied. It makes you wonder if they're even open. The menu is placed on each table, so you have to go to the table to see it. It's a bit nerve-wracking because you have to sit down without knowing the menu or prices, and once you sit down, you have to place an order. There are few staff members, so you might freeze wondering how to place an order. I ordered the tonkatsu set. When you order a meal, it comes with a drink bar where you can drink as much as you want, self-service. You can also choose clam chowder in a paper cup. The tonkatsu set arrived shortly. Even though it's a set meal, there's no miso soup. You have to choose it at the drink bar. The meat is tender and thick, but a bit dry. It's not very juicy. The beige sauce is not bad, with an average taste. The hot potatoes are delicious. The salad and pickles are okay. The rice is just the right firmness and easy to eat. It would have been better if there was a bit more. Thank you for the meal.

During a drive, I stopped by the Michi-no-Eki "Meisui Plaza" in Kyogoku Town for lunch. Kyogoku Town is known for its pristine water, located at the foot of Mount Yotei, boasting 80,000 tons of spring water per day. The area near the Michi-no-Eki also has hot springs and a campsite, attracting many tourists. Normally, I don't eat at Michi-no-Eki restaurants, but this time I had a specific reason. I wanted to try the "Tendon Donburi" nominated for the Hokkaido local TV show "Local Donburi Grand Prix." It's a simple bowl with tempura and onsen tamago on rice. The ingredients are carefully selected, using Nanatsuboshi rice from nearby Rankoshi Town cooked with water from Kyogoku Town. The bowl is like a tempura bowl without other toppings. The sweet sauce is tasty, but it can get a bit monotonous towards the end. The onsen tamago adds a nice touch, with its delicious gooey yolk. This bowl costs 350 yen and comes with a free drink bar, soup bar, and pickles. It's a fun and cost-effective dish worth trying!

A great deal for a Genghis Khan BBQ set for 4 people, including a selection of premium marinated lamb shoulder, tender lamb loin, and herb-infused pork. Also includes rice, cold udon noodles with potatoes, and unlimited soft drinks. The rest area at the roadside station is spacious with a park and water available, making it perfect for families with children.

In the past, I used to go out of my way to fetch water for my child's milk in the middle of the night. Since then, I have traveled to the beautiful mountain passes many times throughout the changing seasons. Now, it's no longer a burden, even for the young. But let's get to the main point. Are all mountain waters the same? Probably not, it's a bit of a difficult question. I believe they are different depending on factors like the height of the mountain, its size, and the geological layers. The length of the water veins also plays a role in the quality of the water. In other words, the water quality varies depending on the different geological layers and siphons. That's why some waters may or may not go well with coffee. Personally, I think the water in Kyogoku is also delicious. Sometimes when I drink it, I remember those days.

The water is delicious. The coffee and ramen are delicious too.

I ordered coffee jelly with soft serve ice cream on top, but it was so small that I was surprised because it cost 580 yen. I was disappointed as I had imagined it would be the size of a parfait. I don't think I will go back again.

The "Fukidashi Park" crowded with tourists is full of foreign visitors, mostly from other continents. I decide to visit the adjacent "Meisui Plaza" where there are food booths offering soba noodles, ramen, curry, and Genghis Khan. Unfortunately, it's still early and the booths are not open yet. I buy a "Meisui Coffee" for 180 yen and a "Menchi Katsu" for 230 yen from the snack corner. The man at the shop front jokingly asks if I want to take them with me, adding to the touristy atmosphere. I sit in the "Feel free to rest" corner inside the shop, open up the Menchi Katsu, and find it a bit salty but juicy and meaty. It would go well with beer. The Meisui Coffee, with gum syrup and cream, is not as bitter and sharp as I imagined. I think next time I'll try Genghis Khan with beer. But in this place, it seems impossible without a bus tour.

I arrived in Kyogoku a little after 1:30 pm. I was really hungry and didn't have much choice in where to go for lunch, so I decided to eat at the closest place. There wasn't a ticket machine, so I just sat down. You have to speak loudly to place your order because the staff doesn't come right away. I ordered the black ramen with tamarind soy sauce, and it was delicious! I was really hungry, so it hit the spot. It had been a while since I had ramen. My companion ordered the Kyogoku potato miso ramen, which was just average.

Visited the bubble park, filled up on delicious water and played on the playground equipment. Then we came to enjoy the famous spring water coffee. I asked the staff at the shop, which was bustling with customers. I had an iced cafe latte, my son had strawberry shaved ice, and my daughter had melon. The ice here must be delicious too, since the water is so tasty, right? The kids devoured their shaved ice without giving me a single bite. My son even got corn and my husband had croquettes. Boys sure eat a lot. My daughter used to hardly eat anything, so it's surprising. We sat on the grass and enjoyed our food. The view is nice, and the water is delicious. Everything tastes great in a place like this. Happy times. Now, let's move on to the next stop.

In June 2016, the "100 Famous Japanese Waters" selected in 1985 includes three locations from Hokkaido, with the most famous being the "Fukidashi Spring of Mount Yotei" in Kyogoku Town. The abundant underground water flowing from the foothills of Mount Yotei creates a picturesque scene, making this area a must-visit stop for those driving through. The area is developed as "Fukidashi Park," with the adjacent "Kyogoku Springs Village" roadside station. The main facility here is the "Spring Water Plaza," which includes a restaurant and a shop offering various products related to the Fukidashi Spring. One interesting item is the water (spring water) sold in jerry cans, which makes for a unique and stylish souvenir. Other products, like coffee and jelly made with the famous spring water, are also available, making them great travel gifts. The coffee comes in both bottled and cup versions, while the coffee jelly is sugar-free and comes with milk and gum syrup on the side for customization. Although the restaurant menu may not be very appealing, checking out the shop is worth it.
