I've been feeling lost with my goals lately, so I decided to try out chain store cold noodles. I've been to ①Nichigaya, ②Osaka Ohsho, ③Bamiyan, ④Renge Shokudo Toshu, ⑤Gyoza no Ohsho, and now ⑥Chuka Shokudo Ichibankan! I'm tired of the typical Chinese chain restaurants, so I'm trying out local chains. First, I went to Ichibankan, followed by Gyoza no Manchuria. Gyoza no Manchuria is operated by Gyoza no Manchuria Co., Ltd., with its headquarters in Kawagoe City. It has 86 stores mainly in Saitama Prefecture and also in Kansai. The southernmost store in Tokyo is at Chitose Funabashi on the Odakyu Line. I visited the store at the south exit of Nakano Station. It was quite crowded. I sat at a table in the back and ordered through a touch panel. The cold noodles at Gyoza no Manchuria have been on the menu for 21 years with only one flavor, soy sauce. I ordered the Cold Noodles - Standard Soy Sauce Flavor @710 (tax included). I added 1.5 servings for an extra @60. While waiting, I looked at the alcohol menu, which was pretty standard. After a 7-minute wait, the Cold Noodles - Standard Soy Sauce Flavor arrived. [Ingredients] 2 slices of char siu, cucumber, bean sprouts, wakame seaweed, seasoned egg, cherry tomato, topped with white sesame seeds. Mustard and pickled ginger were served in separate small dishes, a nice touch for those who don't like them. The bean sprouts and wakame seaweed had a substantial presence, more than Ichibankan. [Noodles] Slightly curly medium-thin noodles with a chewy texture and smooth throat feel, homemade and high in water content. [Sauce] A soy sauce-based sauce with subdued acidity and sweetness, with a generous amount. [Sales] Unknown [Information] Gyoza no Manchuria HP (not available due to renovation) - in-store posters, etc. The noodles have a good chewy texture and a smooth throat feel. The noodles are nicely chilled. It used to have rolled omelette, but now it has a seasoned egg. The seasoned egg has more volume, but I prefer the rolled omelette, so it's a bit disappointing. The bean sprouts and wakame seaweed, symbols of affordability, have a good amount and presence, which is decent. The char siu is tender and no issues there. The ingredients could use a bit more creativity, but overall, it was an easy-to-eat cold noodles.
