I live nearby and have eaten here many times, and the mixed salt and soy sauce bento box is incredibly delicious for its price! It's hard to believe it's less than 700 yen. With 4 pieces of fried chicken, it's a great deal for men who eat a lot. You can upgrade to a large portion of rice for just 50 yen. It's unbelievably cheap. The fried chicken with sweet sauce is also delicious and recommended. Just be aware that you can only buy the fried chicken in sets of 2. It's a level above homemade or supermarket fried chicken. A popular fried chicken specialty shop has appeared near Ome Street, Nakano-Sakaue, and Shin-Nakano, in a location that always seems crowded with customers. It seems they use Kikkoman soy sauce from a century-old soy sauce brewery in Tokyo. I must try their famous soy sauce fried chicken! The special soy sauce fried chicken and delicious salt fried chicken are first dipped in a special salt sauce. They are more like fried chicken than traditional Japanese fried chicken in terms of size. The seasoning is a bit strong, but tasty. The soy sauce fried chicken also has a strong flavor and large size, so two pieces are satisfying. They are delicious, but they give more of a fried chicken vibe than traditional Japanese fried chicken, so it may not fully satisfy your craving for Japanese-style fried chicken. Traditional Japanese fried chicken at diners or in bento boxes tends to be smaller and have a slightly cheap feel, which is part of its charm, so this modern luxurious fried chicken is a different experience.

Before I knew it, a specialty fried chicken shop had opened along Ome Kaido. I never got around to visiting the long-awaited Minamibantei, and it ended up closing. They use the famous Kikkogo soy sauce in the Tama area, and the walls are lined with bottles of that soy sauce. I was surprised to see Kikkogo for the first time at a supermarket in Tachikawa. It's not Kikkoman! I tried the sweet sauce chicken wings, 5 for 490 yen (excluding tax). The minimum order is 5 wings. Even though I could eat all 5, I wish they would sell them in smaller quantities like 1 or 2 wings, as not everyone has a large family. You can buy fried chicken starting from 2 pieces. Each piece costs 130 yen, but they look quite big, so they seem satisfying. Since I had 5 wings, I had 2 cold ones and lightly heated the other 3. They were delicious even when cold. The flavor was rich and made me want to drink beer! They fry the chicken after you order, so you get it hot, which is nice. I thought about eating them on the spot instead of taking them home. (There's no suitable park nearby, so I couldn't do it.) It might take a bit of time to fry, so if you're in a rush, you might not be able to buy them. But I don't think there will be many days when you're in a rush to buy fried chicken, so it should be fine. The shop was bright, clean, and the service was good. They were efficient and quick. However, there are already 3 fried chicken specialty shops in this neighborhood (2 more towards Nakano Shimbashi Station). It seems to be a trend, but I wonder if having so many of them in close proximity is okay.
