On a Sunday afternoon, I was walking along Ome Kaido when I was lured in by the sweet sauce aroma. I ended up buying 4 pieces of sweet sauce chicken wings for ¥550 (got 10% off using a coupon received on LINE). They were ready in 3 minutes. They were made using Kikkoman soy sauce and topped with white sesame seeds. The fried wings were soft and delicious.

In this area, there is another fried chicken shop that seems to be part of the same chain. I bought salt-flavored fried chicken there a while ago, so this time I'll try the soy sauce flavor here. I prefer the soy sauce flavor. The fried chicken from that other shop had a lot of oil visible on the surface, and it's the same here. However, the oiliness doesn't make it taste heavy, so it's actually quite good. The coating is crispy, the meat is thick yet tender, and the seasoning is delicious. The quality of the meat itself is also good.

This is the first time in a while that I've had Nakano-ya's fried chicken bento. The soy sauce flavor is made with Kikkoman soy sauce as a base and has a good amount of garlic. It goes well with the rice. I was so hungry that I finished it in no time. Note that if you want the fried chicken freshly fried, be sure to order it during lunchtime. Sometimes they serve slightly lukewarm fried chicken if it's been prepared in advance. Thank you for the meal.

As it is a new restaurant, I wanted to first confirm the taste, so I placed a single item order over the phone at 19:30. The pick-up time was right on time. Since it is a new restaurant, the staff seemed a bit busy. There were 5-6 groups waiting outside the store. The minimum order quantity is 2 pieces. I ordered 6 salt flavor, 10 soy sauce flavor, and 10 sweet sauce flavor, totaling 3,780 yen. The seasoning was well done. The texture was crispy depending on when you eat it. It seems to be okay even when it cools down. Next time, I will try their bento.

The product here is fried chicken available as a single item or in a bento box, where you can choose the number of fried chicken pieces individually for single items and in the bento box. I was thinking of getting a bento box with three pieces of fried chicken, but since there was a free extra rice option, I decided to go for the bento box with four pieces of fried chicken and extra rice. When I opened the lid to eat, my first impression was that the fried chicken pieces were huge! The four large fried chicken pieces with extra rice had quite an impact. There was also some kinpira and a little bit of pickles on the side. The fried chicken made with chicken thigh meat and using a special potato starch was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, cooked to perfection. The flavor of the soy sauce was rich and delicious, made with Kikkoman soy sauce. I was satisfied with the quality of the fried chicken for the price, so next time I plan to buy it as a single item to enjoy with my recent favorite drink, the Haku shochu highball.

This fried chicken place offers discounts anytime by simply adding them on LINE, so registration is required. They only offer takeout. The bento boxes are a steal and highly recommended. I live nearby and have eaten here many times, and the mixed salt and soy sauce bento box is incredibly delicious for its price! It's hard to believe it's less than 700 yen. With 4 pieces of fried chicken, it's a great deal for men who eat a lot. You can upgrade to a large portion of rice for just 50 yen. It's unbelievably cheap. The fried chicken with sweet sauce is also delicious and recommended. Just be aware that you can only buy the fried chicken in sets of 2. It's a level above homemade or supermarket fried chicken. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed. *Please note they only accept cash, which is a major downside.

Soy sauce and sweet sauce mixed bento box for 648 yen (tax included) with free extra rice. I didn't buy the fried chicken last time, so I decided to try it this time. This bento box allows you to enjoy both soy sauce and sweet sauce flavors. The fried chicken is large and delicious. The rice portion is about 300g. It comes with pickled vegetables and sautéed burdock, but no raw vegetables. The sweet sauce could be a bit sweeter for my taste. If you have a small appetite, you could split it into two meals. Considering the price, I think it's reasonable. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and the staff was working hard alone. There are several fried chicken shops in the area, but this one is convenient to buy from as the door is open and you can order right away. Next time, I'll try the salt flavor.

A popular fried chicken specialty shop has appeared near Ome Street, Nakano-Sakaue, and Shin-Nakano, in a location that always seems crowded with customers. It seems they use Kikkoman soy sauce from a century-old soy sauce brewery in Tokyo. I must try their famous soy sauce fried chicken! The special soy sauce fried chicken and delicious salt fried chicken are first dipped in a special salt sauce. They are more like fried chicken than traditional Japanese fried chicken in terms of size. The seasoning is a bit strong, but tasty. The soy sauce fried chicken also has a strong flavor and large size, so two pieces are satisfying. They are delicious, but they give more of a fried chicken vibe than traditional Japanese fried chicken, so it may not fully satisfy your craving for Japanese-style fried chicken. Traditional Japanese fried chicken at diners or in bento boxes tends to be smaller and have a slightly cheap feel, which is part of its charm, so this modern luxurious fried chicken is a different experience.

Before I knew it, a specialty fried chicken shop had opened along Ome Kaido. I never got around to visiting the long-awaited Minamibantei, and it ended up closing. They use the famous Kikkogo soy sauce in the Tama area, and the walls are lined with bottles of that soy sauce. I was surprised to see Kikkogo for the first time at a supermarket in Tachikawa. It's not Kikkoman! I tried the sweet sauce chicken wings, 5 for 490 yen (excluding tax). The minimum order is 5 wings. Even though I could eat all 5, I wish they would sell them in smaller quantities like 1 or 2 wings, as not everyone has a large family. You can buy fried chicken starting from 2 pieces. Each piece costs 130 yen, but they look quite big, so they seem satisfying. Since I had 5 wings, I had 2 cold ones and lightly heated the other 3. They were delicious even when cold. The flavor was rich and made me want to drink beer! They fry the chicken after you order, so you get it hot, which is nice. I thought about eating them on the spot instead of taking them home. (There's no suitable park nearby, so I couldn't do it.) It might take a bit of time to fry, so if you're in a rush, you might not be able to buy them. But I don't think there will be many days when you're in a rush to buy fried chicken, so it should be fine. The shop was bright, clean, and the service was good. They were efficient and quick. However, there are already 3 fried chicken specialty shops in this neighborhood (2 more towards Nakano Shimbashi Station). It seems to be a trend, but I wonder if having so many of them in close proximity is okay.
