Having lunch in Tsukiji's Chuo Ward. The inbound tourists have returned, and Tsukiji Outer Market is bustling with activity. I wandered around aimlessly, looking for a less crowded restaurant, and decided to try "Maguroya" for the first time. You can see the inside of the restaurant from the outside, and it has a somewhat open and traditional Tsukiji atmosphere. Inside, there are table seats on the right side, a counter with 10 seats on the left side, and 2 seats near the entrance. There were 2 chefs at the counter, and the restaurant was managed by 1 male and 2 female staff members. Although it is primarily a sushi restaurant, tempura also seems to be a specialty. I requested a cold green tea, which turned out to be a soft drink and cost 380 yen. It felt strange to pay for tea at a sushi restaurant... I ordered the "Maguro Nigiri (excluding tax 3300 yen)". A cold green tea was served first. Since it was hot outside, I drank it quickly. The nigiri sushi arrived all at once on a plate in less than 5 minutes. There was no explanation of the types of fish. Salmon, sea bream, fatty tuna, yellowtail maybe?, lean tuna, squid, horse mackerel, scallop, shrimp, and tekka maki. The amount of rice was a bit small, and there were no particularly memorable types of fish. The chefs didn't seem too busy, and there was no conversation. However, the female staff member in charge of the hall was very kind and provided excellent service. When paying the bill, she said, "The tempura is also very delicious, so please come again!" with a cheerful attitude. (Visit Date: 3/15)
