I went to Delica Paku Paku Asakusa store, located just a 1-minute walk from Tsukuba Express Asakusa Station. I happened to pass by while running errands and ended up buying something. The bento boxes start from 300 yen, which is quite a good deal. As for the taste... I would say it's fair for the price. The rice and side dishes were a bit hard and seemed more focused on cost performance. Although the bento boxes are advertised as starting from 300 yen, most people were buying ones priced between 400 and 500 yen. Both the rice and side dishes were cold, so I'm not sure if I'll go back next time. Thank you for the meal.

On a Sunday afternoon, I happened to pass by the front of the store. They had a Big Onigiri for 650 yen. I was amazed by its shocking size. It contained roasted pork, takana (leaf mustard), kombu (kelp), and okaka (bonito flakes). I bought it and showed it to my family, who found it amusing. When I cut and ate it, it was just a delicious onigiri. It might be fun to bring it to a home party or a meal gathering and enjoy it with everyone! I also recommend the Teriyaki Chicken for 250 yen.

There is a famous restaurant in Kameido, but I think this one is also well-known. This time, I was feeling a bit hungry late at night, so I decided to go to this restaurant while on a tour. It was 3 am, but they still had a decent selection of bento boxes available. There were about 30 of them displayed outside, but they were not all the same, so I chose a safe option from the top row. The prices ranged from 300 yen, 400 yen, to 750 yen, but the 300 yen one did not have a price tag. It seemed like the variety of dishes increased as the price went up. Depending on the time, they also have bento boxes that weigh 1 kg. However, I think the 300 yen bento box offers the best value. The amount of rice is decent, but since you are buying a pre-made bento, there is not much of a rice bonus like you would get with a large serving. The side dishes are okay for the price of 300 yen. It's totally worth it. Do not expect thick tonkatsu when ordering tonkatsu. It is more like a thin cutlet with a crispy coating. Therefore, I think the fried chicken dishes are the most recommended here. Late at night when you're feeling a bit hungry, fast food chains like gyudon are good options, but I was reminded that bento boxes like these are also a good choice.

Ah, it's late again today... After 9 PM, Asakusa is pitch dark. No shops are open... I know! I'll buy some nikujaga from Paku Paku and have a drink! This place is busy all day long, making it hard to take photos, but at this time there was only one customer. I took the opportunity to snap a picture. The popular thing here is that bento boxes start at only 250 yen! They have a wide variety of side dishes. And the specialty is the 1kg onigiri! Giant onigiri are displayed in the showcase. So, I bought the nikujaga (350 yen) that I was looking for, and my favorite ebi fry (400 yen). "That'll be 750 yen," they said. I handed over a 1000 yen bill and then noticed the fried dumplings (200 yen), "I'll have these too," I added. The nikujaga here is made with new potatoes and plenty of sugar. It's sweet like a dessert, but strangely addictive. Many places over-fry their ebi fry, making the shrimp tough, but here it's juicy and delicious. It goes great with beer. It's just a 1-minute walk from Tsukuba Express Asakusa Station, an 8-minute walk from Ginza Line Tawaramachi Station, and an 8-minute walk from Asakusa Line Asakusa Station, within a 7-minute walk from Kaminarimon. The second floor is a favorite Thai restaurant called Jim Jum.

I came across a popular food blog about a cheap and generous portion bento shop called Delica Pakupaku Asakusa store that I had heard of before through YouTube and the internet. Although I was aware of its existence, I had never really paid much attention to it since it is located near Asakusa Station on the TX line, which I rarely use. However, by chance, I happened to pass by the store on December 19th while on my way to Don Quijote in Koenji to visit the second store of a popular Taiwanese castella cake shop called Shin Castella. I was surprised to see Delica Pakupaku and decided to buy a bento box and a large portion of yakisoba. The prices were very reasonable, ranging from 250 yen to 350 yen. I opted for the large portion of yakisoba and a big onigiri, which I found to be quite impressive. I also bought a large-sized onigiri with various fillings and a yakisoba pack for dinner. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very affordable, making it a great option for a budget-friendly lunch. Later in the evening, I enjoyed my meal by microwaving the onigiri with cheese and enjoying the unique combination of flavors.

Today is a holiday and Asakusa is very crowded. I wanted to compare the bento boxes in Kameido, so I stopped by. I purchased two bento boxes, one for 300 yen and the other for 350 yen (excluding tax). Although there was a slight price difference, the sizes of the containers were similar. I bought a bento with chicken cutlet and stir-fried chicken with sauce (the names were not written). Since the city was crowded, I left immediately. When I got home and microwaved the bento, I tried the stir-fried chicken first and it was unexpectedly spicy. I'm not a fan of spicy food, but I still found it enjoyable. The chicken cutlet was not thin, it had some thickness to it. The bento itself felt substantial, probably around 500g in volume. It also included simmered vegetables and boiled beans, which added to the overall good appearance and content of the bento.

Open 24 hours, which is very convenient. Came here to buy some snacks to go with alcohol, but they didn't have my favorite nikujaga (stewed meat and potatoes) dish. They didn't even have nikujaga bento, so I ended up getting something like sweet and sour chicken instead of pork, with ketchup. Also, they have delicious stick-shaped doughnuts. You should definitely try them out. You'll get hooked for sure! (laughs)

Great for drinking! I've been drinking a lot, but I'm looking for a good meal to have at home. The usual meat and potato stew for ¥300 before tax. It has four big potatoes, carrots, a little bit of meat, and a rich flavor that's delicious. Also, the teriyaki chicken thigh for ¥140 before tax. And some stick-shaped doughnuts for ¥100 before tax. They are easy to eat and I ended up eating them on my way home, so I don't have a picture to show. Thank you for understanding. 2020/03/03

On January 1st, 2020 (Wednesday), we visited our 7th stop for food exploration. Today, we went to Asakusa for our first shrine visit. Among the things to enjoy at Sensoji Temple, one of the highlights is visiting Delica Paku Paku. This place is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and all bento boxes are priced at 250 yen (excluding tax). They also have a 1kg Big Onigiri available. I've bought it before and I have to get it again this year! So, I made my way there eagerly. When I arrived, I saw a wide variety of bento boxes displayed outside the store. Some people were already eating them on their bicycles. It was quite a sight! Just looking at the bento boxes and side dishes made me excited. And there it was, the Big Onigiri that I came for. I had actually called ahead to reserve the Okaka and Noritama flavors. The staff had advised me to do so to avoid waiting as it can take time to prepare. Today, I ordered the Big Onigiri in Okaka and Noritama flavors, a regular Salmon Onigiri, Chicken Cutlet, Octopus Tempura skewer, and a bento box with white fish and croquette. I won't be able to eat them all here, so I'll save some for tonight and tomorrow morning. I'll definitely be back next year. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited Asakusa on a whim and decided to explore the rumored bento shop that I had been curious about. As a family who goes on weekend trips seeking steam locomotives, large portions, and Michi-no-Eki (roadside stations) without any camping experience, we travel in a compact camping car called "eK-Camp (ROTIUS RV Sales)" with a silver tent on top, driven by norizo. Right next to the A1 exit of Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express line, you will find "Delica Pakupaku Asakusa Store." Since it is located on one of the main streets in Asakusa, there is no parking lot available, but it is easily accessible by public transportation. If you must visit by car, you should use a coin parking lot a little further away. The bentos are mostly priced at 250 yen before tax and come in a wide variety. It seems that there are specific time slots when they offer large portion bentos and onigiri. The first item I purchased was a 250 yen bento (before tax) with fried horse mackerel and minced cutlet. Even though it had cooled down, the rice was delicious and the side dishes were plentiful, making the 250 yen price tag very appealing. It would be difficult to replicate this at home for the same price. If you were to buy it at a supermarket, it would cost at least 400 yen. The main item was the "Big Onigiri" priced at 580 yen before tax. There were several varieties of fillings available, including one with seaweed rice seasoning mixed throughout, but I chose the one with white rice containing pickled mustard greens, kelp, and bonito flakes. It weighed over 1 kilogram. It was too much for one person to eat, so I cut it into four pieces. Even after cutting it into four pieces, each quarter was equivalent to about three regular-sized onigiri. In the end, my family of four enjoyed the onigiri together. I was amazed to find a shop offering bentos at such reasonable prices in one of Japan's largest tourist areas. This place seems like a hidden gem for when you're low on cash and in need of a good meal. Near the Asakusa Roku district on a weekday at 9:15 PM. With a slight hunger, I took a stroll in Asakusa, where the "Delica Pakupaku Asakusa Store" is located, a cheap bento chain starting from 250 yen. As I entered the crowded street, I could smell the foreign atmosphere and sweat - there were many foreign customers. Among the haphazardly stacked bentos priced mainly at 350 yen, I chose a fried food bento. I returned to the hotel to enjoy it. The bento in a plastic container contained three pieces of fried chicken and two croquettes as the main items. The side dishes included sweet green peas, spaghetti, and pickles. It even came with a small packet of sauce. The fried chicken breast was a bit dry, and the croquettes were simple with just potatoes. With plenty of oil, I left feeling full - thanks for the meal!

This is a bento shop in Asakusa. It is a rare shop that is open 24 hours a day. Everything is cheap and it is always crowded. I had never eaten here before, but I happened to be in Asakusa on this day, so I decided to stop by for a bento. They have various types of bento and side dishes, with the cheapest bento priced at 250 yen, which is quite unheard of. After some thought, I purchased a 450 yen bento, which is considered high-end at this shop. It was quite filling, with the main dish being mackerel. When I tried it, I found that the mackerel was dry and lacked moisture, similar to canned tuna. The rice also had a strong fishy smell, making it difficult to enjoy the overall taste. Perhaps the price reflects the quality of the food, but I still believe that a certain level of taste should be expected.

I went to a cheap bento shop called "Delica Paku Paku" on the way to Asakusa Wins. I had been losing in the morning, so this 250 yen + tax bento was enough with a good volume. There are tables in front of the shop where you can eat. I can feel the sense of defeat fully and strive for a comeback in the afternoon. 😂😂

I haven't written a review, but whenever I go to Asakusa, I always stop by this place (lol). I was surprised by the wide variety of items and the wallet-friendly prices. And this is in Tokyo, mind you. They also have new and interesting products. They even have onigiri wrapped in bacon - I bet it would be delicious grilled until crispy! On the way home on the train (in the Green Car, so I'm not causing any trouble) (lol), I had a quick drink. The chicken cutlet was about the size of one hand and only 150 yen. With just one of these, you can drink it up quickly (lol). The duck skewers were a bit greasy, so I took my time eating them (sweating). But in this day and age, "PakuPaku" is really a lifesaver. The staff at the shop are also very friendly, and I find myself wanting to see their faces again when I go there!!

Next to Tsukuba Express station, there is this shop. It's quite rare to find a 24-hour deli and bento shop. When I used to live in Asakusa, I often bought bento and side dishes from here, and I especially liked their nikujaga (meat and potato stew). The potatoes are deep-fried and simmered until sweet, giving it a slightly foreign taste that might be the Asian interpretation of nikujaga. It may not be the traditional nikujaga that you're used to, but the moist and delicious potatoes make it worth trying. The portion of meat is quite small, but the focus is on the potatoes in this dish. They offer bentos starting from 250 yen, and all of them are delicious. Whenever I go to Asakusa, I always buy the nikujaga and chicken katsu from here. There is also a famous shop called "Sekine" nearby, known for their delicious shumai and meat buns, so be sure to check it out.

This is a bento shop located right near Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express line. What's really amazing is the generous portion size and reasonable prices. The taste is also quite delicious. There is a wide variety of bento options so you won't get bored. The onigiri in the photo is particularly impressive.

Open 24 hours, this cheap bento shop called Kado Uchi has started offering beer for just ¥200 or ¥300 (excluding tax). I decided to try some dishes after a long time. The nikujaga (meat and potato stew) here is my favorite. It used to cost ¥150 (excluding tax) for a smaller portion, but now it's doubled in size and costs ¥300 (excluding tax), which is a good deal. The fried egg is also delicious at ¥200 (excluding tax). They also have chicken leg skewers for ¥140 (excluding tax), stick donuts for ¥100 (excluding tax), and a jumbo hamburger bento for ¥450 (excluding tax). The bento options start at ¥250 (excluding tax). I've tried the hamburger bento for ¥250 (excluding tax) before, and it used to have too much flour, but after the renovation, it has become really tasty. Next time, I'll challenge myself to try the standing beer at Kado Uchi.

A group of four women had a meal in Asakusa. After enjoying lunch and dessert, they spent time at an owl cafe to relax with the animals. As the time to part ways approached, they visited Delica Pakupaku to buy souvenirs to take home. This place was recommended by Mr. Shigeyoshi Horii, who they are grateful to. They were looking for the 1kg big onigiri. The Big Onigiri (580 yen + tax) was a jumbo-sized onigiri that was very heavy. They took it home and measured it - it was 1079g and 16cm wide. The fillings included salmon, seaweed, bonito flakes, and fried chicken. However, there was too much rice and not enough filling. They had to add extra toppings from their fridge to finish it. Even the reviewer couldn't finish it in one sitting and had to split it into two meals, dinner that day and breakfast the next day.

On January 1st, after visiting the shrine for the New Year, I bought some food at a food stall in Asakusa. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time. We had mochi for breakfast and then took the train to Asakusa. We visited the temple, made our prayers, and then enjoyed some delicious food from the food stalls. One of our favorite stalls was the one selling fried potato with butter. We also tried some other dishes like rolled sushi and pork soup. After that, we went to a takeout shop called "Delica Pakupaku" and bought some large onigiri and bento boxes. We brought the food home and heated it up for dinner. The onigiri was delicious and the bento boxes were also very tasty. We had a great time eating together as a family. It was a wonderful start to the new year.
