Last night, when I purchased the new fruit ice melon from Halo Halo, I found out that my favorite Shizuoka Crown Melon soft serve ice cream was being sold with a new look, priced at 270 yen including tax. I immediately tried it out.
Shizuoka Crown Melon Soft Mix, priced at 270 yen including tax. It has been two years since I last tasted it. The flavor of Crown Melon is still as good as ever. With the mix, the mellowness of vanilla is added to the flavor of melon. It's really delicious. This year is extremely hot. I wonder how many times I will eat Crown Melon soft serve ice cream. Thank you for the meal!

Revisited on 20170530 (No.842) the other day at Cafe Muse Ash, I had a great understanding of the good compatibility between soy sauce and ice cream. However, right after that, I found the following soy sauce-related product, so I'm breaking the rule of not doing convenience store topics for this review (^^;)
Shaved Ice Mitarashi Dango for 290 yen. The product was served within 7-8 minutes of ordering!!! It consists of gum syrup at the bottom, shaved ice, soft serve ice cream, 5 pieces of Mitarashi dango, Mitarashi dango sauce, chopped seaweed, and rice crackers. The soft serve ice cream has a hint of soy sauce flavor. The Mitarashi dango sauce is also generously poured, so overall, it tastes like eating cold Mitarashi dango itself (*_*) Those who like Mitarashi dango will probably enjoy it (lol). The chopped seaweed and rice crackers on top may not be necessary, though... (^^;) Thank you for the meal.

I had a great day starting with a 1920 yen curry for lunch, followed by a relaxing trip to my favorite Saitama City Seikoji Onsen in the afternoon. On my way back, I stopped by this convenience store. I usually love Mini Stop's vanilla soft-serve ice cream, but this time I decided to try their banana soft-serve without chocolate. I also got the X Fried Potato that was recently praised on TV.
Banana soft-serve ice cream brought back childhood memories of banana-flavored ice cream sticks I used to enjoy. It had that nostalgic banana flavor. However, it didn't quite match up to Mini Stop's classic vanilla soft-serve with its milkiness. This seems to be a pattern with their special flavors like Belgian chocolate and sweet potato soft-serve. In the end, I always come back to Mini Stop's vanilla soft-serve as the best.
The X Fried Potato was crunchy and delicious, living up to its reputation as my favorite. The unique X-shaped cut made for a crispy texture that was top-notch.
I also tried the Canadian Potato, which had a garlic-based seasoning that gave it a distinctive flavor.
Overall, I was satisfied with these snacks and headed home feeling content. Thank you for the meal!
