- Menu Ordered: Duck hotpot set / 5000 yen Contents: Plum wine as an aperitif, smashed cucumber with homemade miso (refillable), homemade salted squid guts, mackerel with sesame soy sauce, duck hotpot with salt, rice porridge, pickles, yuzu sherbet. - Food: The smashed cucumber with homemade miso had a delicious aroma and was very refreshing. The salted squid guts had a unique flavor with a hint of yuzu, making it very easy to eat. The mackerel with sesame soy sauce was exceptional with the aroma of perilla leaves. The duck hotpot, chosen with salt, was rich in flavor with a thick broth that coated the ingredients perfectly. Adding yuzu pepper brought out even more depth in the taste. The duck meat had a strong, chewy texture similar to local chicken, and the boiled egg was surprisingly moist and had a firm texture. The hotpot was filled with plenty of duck meat, providing a satisfying meal. - Atmosphere: The private room was incredibly satisfying, creating a calming and relaxing atmosphere similar to a traditional inn. - Service: The friendly and attentive female staff provided warm and welcoming service, adding to the overall cozy experience. - Overall: Despite being unfamiliar with duck hotpot, I was captivated by the satisfying experience. The restaurant is perfect for business meetings or dining events, offering a great atmosphere, quality ingredients, and substantial portions at a reasonable price.

I visited this restaurant for the first time with a customer and had a course meal in a private room. It was really delicious. The hot pot was soy sauce-based, and they also provided eggs. For the second serving, I dipped the eggs in like a sukiyaki style. The taste was not as strong as sukiyaki, and personally, I preferred it without the eggs. For the finale, I had udon noodles, which were exquisite. I would like to invite my friends and visit again next time.

I visited a restaurant called "Kamonabe Yushima Umeen" which has been in business for 40 years. It is a rare find in Tokyo, but I happened to have some free time in the evening so I decided to check it out. I tried the special duck hot pot course for 6800 yen, which included a three-point appetizer, the famous pounded cucumber, a sashimi platter, a seasonal dish, and the selected horse sashimi duck hot pot. Everything was delicious and satisfying. I enjoyed some delicious Hakkaisan cold sake with my meal. - Restaurant Name: Kamonabe Yushima Umeen - Address: 3-29-5 Yushima, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo - Business Hours: Mon-Sun 17:00-23:00 - Closed on irregular days

I visited Yushima Plum Garden on a whim because there was a festival going on. I ordered the Potato Hot Pot (salt flavor) and Duck Soba with Edamame. The potatoes were thin but hot, and it was nice to have ketchup and mayonnaise on the side. The hot pot was delicious with plenty of ingredients. I didn't particularly like the soba in the duck soba, but the edamame was good, although the pods were tough. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I visited "Umeen" near Yushima Tenjin Shrine, known for its duck hot pot, around 7:00 PM on a certain day in February 2023. After a short walk from Yushima Station, I entered the spacious restaurant and informed them of my reservation for a tatami seat for two. I had already ordered the "Duck Hot Pot Set" for ¥5,500, so I ordered a drink and waited for the food. Since I was there for a work-related discussion, I opted for the course menu for convenience. I started with a "Suntory Premium Malt" for ¥750 to quench my thirst. The refreshing taste of the beer was a good choice. I also enjoyed plum wine along with the beer as it was included in the course. The "Smashed Cucumber with Garlic Miso" was a refreshing dish to start with, enjoying the garlic miso with the crisp cucumber. The homemade squid salted fish with yuzu aroma had a smooth flavor, perfect to pair with sake. The grilled mackerel, served as a seasonal sashimi, was a delightful dish to savor while waiting for the duck hot pot. The duck hot pot, served in a plum blossom-themed arrangement, was cooked in a savory soy sauce broth. The duck meat, kinkan, and vegetables were cooked to perfection, and dipping them in raw egg added depth to the flavors. The duck meat was rich and flavorful, and the kinkan provided a nice texture. I enjoyed the hearty hot pot with an "Old Senate (Soda Mix)" for ¥700, which complemented the dish well with its barley and sweet potato aroma. To finish, I had udon noodles with pickles and a "Fresh Lemon Sour" for ¥650, enjoying the refreshing taste of the drink with the soy sauce-flavored udon. Lastly, I was served yuzu sherbet and roasted green tea as a palate cleanser. "Umeen" provided a cozy atmosphere with tatami seating, perfect for a casual dining experience. The prices were reasonable, and the service was attentive. I would definitely consider visiting this restaurant again for a meal in the Yushima area.

Today I visited Yushima Tenjin for the first time and the strong cold wind was blowing relentlessly, making it much colder than the actual temperature. Without researching the nearby restaurants beforehand, and with the surrounding shops being quite crowded due to it being just past noon, I decided to quickly enter the restaurant right next to the parking lot. It turned out to be the right choice as the restaurant was not crowded and I was seated in a tatami room right away. The lunch menu consisted of only two options: "Duck Seiro (1,600 yen (tax included))" and "Golden Fried Oyster Set Meal (1,980 yen (tax included))". It was possible to change the rice to "Mixed Grain Rice (300 yen (tax included))". I chose the "Golden Fried Oyster Set Meal" without hesitation. After a short wait, the meal was served. The plate in the middle of the tray contained large ball-sized fried oysters accompanied by cabbage and lemon. Inside the oysters were 5-6 large oysters packed tightly, with a thin batter allowing the oyster flavor to shine through. The tartar sauce in the small dish (more like boiled egg pieces mixed with mayonnaise) was perfect for dipping (or rather, placing) the oysters in. Sauce was also provided as an option. The miso soup, pickles, and simmered dish in the small bowls added a nice touch to the meal. The rice was light, so I got a refill and savored the fried oysters. It was incredibly delicious once again today. There are many other good-looking restaurants in the area, so if I have the chance to come back, I would like to explore more. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant may not be casual in terms of price, but it had a special feeling! The duck hot pot had a striking appearance and was very luxurious! When I tried it, it had a healthy taste and was very delicious. I tried both salt and soy sauce, but I preferred the soy sauce. I felt that it blended better with the flavor of the meat. I also ordered sake, so the cost ended up being quite high...!!

This was my first visit. I came seeking duck hot pot! With my friends who wanted to eat a large pot, we satisfied our appetites with five people! We also ordered duck tsukune since we were here! I forgot to take a picture of the noodles that we had to finish the hot pot, but they were delicious! Thank you for the delicious meal!!!

Located a 5-minute walk from Yushima Station, the "Umeen" stands in front of Yushima Tenjin Shrine. First, the appearance. It has a tasteful and traditional atmosphere like a long-established traditional Japanese restaurant. The interior is clean and surprisingly spacious, with several seats centered around tatami mats and private rooms available, which is a plus. I made a reservation and visited at the opening time of 5 pm, and was guided to the back tatami room. I started with ordering a "draft beer". By the way, this place is famous for its duck hot pot, so I had pre-ordered the basic "duck hot pot set" for the group. The draft beer arrived promptly, and after a toast, we started with the "apéritif". The apéritif was plum wine, refreshing with a strong taste of plum. Next was the "smashed cucumber". This dish is served with a special garlic miso sauce that is incredibly addictive. Then, the "homemade squid salted guts" arrived. The seasoning was perfect, making it a perfect dish for those who enjoy drinking. And then, the eagerly awaited "duck hot pot" arrived, and... what is this!!! It's a serving for 5 people, but it's so huge!! We were all amazed by its size, especially the way the enoki mushrooms were arranged like pineapples. While waiting for it to cook, the "mackerel with sesame soy sauce" also arrived. The mackerel with sesame soy sauce had a rich flavor, with sesame adding a nice accent. The huge pot gradually shrank and was ready in about 12 minutes. We immediately dug in while it was piping hot, and the umami of the duck meat, along with the cabbage, leeks, and other vegetables inside, was delicious. The duck meat had a nice texture, and the gentle and refreshing taste was incredibly delicious! (You can choose between soy sauce or salt for the flavor. The kumquats that appeared here and there were irresistible. Furthermore, if you add the free egg, the taste becomes mellow, making you unable to stop smiling! Everyone ate silently, and the meal ended with "ojiya". (You can also choose udon noodles.) The ojiya, which absorbed all the flavors, was undoubtedly a solid happiness. The meal was finished with a pickled vegetable side dish for a chopstick rest, dessert of "yuzu sherbet", and ended on a refreshing note. However, the taste of the duck hot pot lingered on the tongue, it was so delicious! Definitely try it for your year-end parties or New Year's gatherings! - Menu: Duck Hot Pot Set (1 person course): 5000 yen

The duck hot pot looked delicious just by appearance! The restaurant had a traditional feel with torn shoji screens, but it was clean. I got excited when the cucumber arrived before the visually appealing duck hot pot. I would like to come back again.

A quietly located, atmospheric restaurant a short walk from Yushima. The interior has tatami seating, and since we were a small group, we had a room to ourselves which was very nice. This time we tried the duck hot pot course at this restaurant specializing in duck dishes! As we enjoyed the appetizers, a huge pot arrived in front of us! Is this really for 6 people?? It was hard to believe. It was perfect timing as the weather was getting colder, so the hot pot was amazing. The ingredients were cooked slowly in the flavorful broth, making it delicious. It was packed with plenty of vegetables, so it felt healthy. You can also enjoy it Sukiyaki-style with eggs, and the fact that you don't get tired of it is a plus. We also had plum wine after a long time, and it was delicious. We finished with rice added to the remaining soup to make porridge. Of course, we were completely full!! It's recommended to enjoy the course with 4-6 people, but you can also order a la carte dishes. These kinds of restaurants in the downtown area are really great. I'd love to come back for a special occasion.

The cold December has arrived, and the atmosphere of year-end parties is starting to be felt. The restaurant was moderately busy, and I had a reservation for the special duck hot pot course that I had been wanting to try. The course included a selection of dishes along with the duck hot pot, such as sashimi and horse meat sashimi. The main duck hot pot was recommended with soy sauce, and it was visually impressive with a design resembling a plum. The hot pot was flavorful and rich, with the meat of the duck being very addictive. The appetizers were also plentiful and paired well with drinks. The meal ended with a flavorful rice porridge, which was a perfect way to wrap up the meal. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience, and I look forward to trying the salt-flavored duck hot pot next time. It was a great way to enjoy a cozy meal during these times.

Having a meal with a friend. They wanted to eat duck dishes, so we went to Umezono in Yushima. It's about a 5-minute walk from Ueno Station. It's even closer from Yushima. It's right in front of Yushima Tenjin. The interior of the restaurant is surprisingly small. With the concerns of the pandemic, I was worried about the density, but they had separated the seating with sliding doors, so we could relax as if we were in a private room. They also have completely private rooms. This time, we had the duck hot pot course. For starters, we had cucumber, squid salted innards, and horse mackerel sashimi. The portions were a bit small for appetizers, except for the cucumber (which was a lot). So, we added duck meatballs and smoked duck. The seasoning was refreshing, and the squid salted innards didn't have any unpleasant smell, quite delicious. The duck meatballs and smoked duck were well seasoned. Finally, the awaited duck hot pot arrived. We could choose between soy sauce or salt, and we chose soy sauce this time. When the hot pot arrived, we were surprised by the volume! The duck meat was plentiful. There were also kumquats, which looked very appetizing. As it simmered, the vegetables became tender and increased our appetite. With such a big pot, the small appetizers made sense. The staff checked on the hot pot and told us when it was ready to eat. We were supposed to eat it with raw egg, like sukiyaki. Duck meat tends to be tough, but it was tender, without any unpleasant smell, and delicious. The vegetables, such as cabbage and daikon, soaked up the soup and were very tasty. We were already full, but we could choose between rice porridge or udon for the finish, so we chose udon. It was nice that they made it for us. The soy sauce flavor wasn't overpowering, and it remained delicious until the end. We ate too much, haha. Next time, I want to try the salt flavor. It would be nice if they had a few more varieties of sake. Thank you for the meal!

The average rating is 3.0, with scores ranging between 2.9 and 3.1. It seems like there were no other customers besides us. We opted for the private room banquet course with a duck hot pot set, originally priced at 5000 yen excluding tax, but with a 1000 yen discount for the first time. We chose the salt flavor over soy sauce, but soy sauce might have been a better choice. It took about 30 minutes for the hot pot to be ready, and if you don't order a drink, they might think you are a light drinker. They served non-alcoholic plum wine as an aperitif. The smashed cucumber and garlic miso were excellent, made with minced duck meat and shiitake mushrooms. They provided mayonnaise for the kids, which paired well with the miso. The hot pot broth seemed a bit thin, and the meat may have been overcooked and tough, lacking a sense of luxury. The staff helped with cooking and stirring, which was good. The raw egg for dipping was slightly yellowish, with a good balance of white and yolk. The portion of vegetables like cabbage was generous. Even though we were a group of three, the serving size seemed quite large. We chose the ojiya option, which had a decent amount of rice that didn't go to waste. Lastly, we had yuzu sherbet and warm tea. We stayed from 17:30 to 19:30, which was a 2-hour experience.

Tonight we visited "Yushima Umeen" for a New Year's party with good friends. In winter, hot pot is the best choice, so we tried their famous duck hot pot course for 6800 yen, with a drink all-you-can option for 3000 yen. We started with a large serving of their famous smashed cucumber with homemade miso, followed by a three kinds of appetizers platter. Soon, the duck meat arranged like plum blossoms arrived, and we were all excited. We chose soy sauce flavor for the hot pot, which also included cabbage, leeks, enoki mushrooms, and had a generous portion. The taste was refreshing and we enjoyed it with udon for the finale. The restaurant was fully booked, so reservations are recommended. The staff were efficient and the atmosphere was relaxing. We had a great time and left very satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I visited a plum garden that I stopped by during the Ume Matsuri at Yushima Tenjin. At night, they only offer course meals, starting with sweet and fragrant white plum wine, garlic miso with vegetable sticks, yuzu-flavored salted fish roe, sesame paste namero, duck hot pot, finale dish, and yuzu sherbet, a satisfying and filling course!! We also enjoyed fresh horse sashimi, feeling happy~ Right near Yushima Tenjin. The famous plum garden in Yushima serves a unique and cute duck hot pot made with Tanohata Village duck, which looks like plum flowers when viewed from above. This is a wonderful place with attention to detail that will make women happy, but it also offers generous portions that will satisfy men who want to eat to their heart's content! The staff will take care of the hot pot for you, making it an easy dining experience ♡ Duck meat may seem fatty at first glance, but it is healthier than chicken meat, with lower cholesterol, high unsaturated fatty acids, iron, and vitamin B2 compared to other meats. It is said to be highly effective for beautiful skin, anemia, dieting, detox, and has a great fatigue recovery effect ♡

I visited the Yushima Umeen in Yushima, which I had been curious about for a long time. I made a reservation online and chose the "Special Duck Nabe Course". The course included an aperitif, three appetizers, the famous smashed cucumber, assorted seasonal sashimi, marinated horse mackerel, fatty horse sashimi, duck nabe, udon or rice porridge, pickles, and dessert. When I entered the restaurant, I was led to a private room at the back of the tatami seating area. Since it was still hot outside, the restaurant was relatively empty. I sat down and ordered a drink. I started with a beer and then the dishes started to arrive. The aperitif was plum wine. The three appetizers included homemade salted fish eggs, grilled bream, and special miso. The miso contained duck and garlic, which was perfect with the smashed cucumber. The marinated horse mackerel and assorted sashimi were all small portions but delicious with sake. The duck nabe could be chosen with either soy sauce or salt, and I chose the classic soy sauce. The nabe had a striking visual and was gradually cooked at the table. The staff checked on the nabe a few times while we waited. While waiting, the fatty horse sashimi arrived, which was delicious with sweet soy sauce. As I ate the previous dishes, the duck nabe was slowly cooked to perfection. Chopped leeks were added at the end, and the nabe was finally ready. The staff served raw egg to dip the duck meat in. The soup had a rich flavor from the duck fat and sweetness from cabbage and onions, making it one of the best nabe I've ever had. The duck meat was thick and satisfying to eat. The flavor intensified as we ate, so dipping the meat in raw egg like sukiyaki was also delicious. Although the portion was large, we finished it quickly. For dessert, I chose a small portion of rice porridge. It arrived a few minutes later and was also delicious. Finally, we finished with yuzu sherbet and tea to refresh our palates. It was a highly satisfying course, and the hospitality of the staff was excellent. I look forward to trying the salt-flavored duck nabe next time, and maybe duck shabu-shabu after that. Delicious!

Excellent! Right next to Yushima Tenjin Shrine, this place has a nostalgic atmosphere and the service is outstanding. The duck shabu-shabu I tried for the first time wasn't overly rich in flavor, but had a really good broth. There were various condiments available so you don't get tired of it, and the customers were also very satisfied with the ramen to finish. This is definitely a place that will be greatly appreciated.

In Yushima, there is a traditional restaurant tucked away in a corner. This place, Umazono, seems to be owned by the Yushima Tenjin shrine. I was looking forward to the nostalgic atmosphere and duck hot pot after seeing photos. The appetizer was cucumber with miso, and the cucumber was so fresh and crunchy that you could have unlimited refills. The main dish, duck hot pot, was presented beautifully with plum blossoms. It looked like a pretty flower. The plum wine for the aperitif is apparently exclusive to this restaurant. It's not sold elsewhere. Yushima is known for its plum festival at the end of February, but the flavor of the duck hot pot was a bit light. I was expecting a richer taste, so it was a bit disappointing. It seems like this restaurant focuses more on visual presentation. The hospitality of the staff, including the part-time workers, was top-notch.

Located on the grounds of Yushima Tenjin Shrine, Yushima Umeen is a place I discovered through word of mouth. As a big fan of duck hot pot, I made it a point to visit and hosted a business dinner there, thanks to my clients. The main course, the duck hot pot, was visually stunning and my clients and I enjoyed it immensely. It was so delicious that we ordered extra duck meat and indulged in a lavish feast. We ended the meal with a porridge, feeling satisfied and happy next to Yushima Tenjin Shrine. The process of making the hot pot was also fascinating to watch. Thank you for the wonderful meal! (^^ゞ
