Ginza 7-chome: When I passed by before, there were many people waiting in line at the store, but this time I arrived 4 minutes before the opening at 11:30 and no one was waiting. Next to it was a new store, "Abetai-san's Ginza store" offering "both-sided yakisoba"! The portions were small and the prices were high, as expected in Ginza! After waiting for about 2 minutes, staff came down the stairs and opened the door. They apologized and said it was already full, so please wait here (pointing to a spot with their hand). It seems they started the oven before the opening time! After about 2 minutes, more customers arrived. Two groups of 5 people each. I thought I would have to wait at least 10 to 15 minutes until the first round was seated, but at 11:35, one person left, so quick! I hurried up the stairs and was seated at the counter. They told me to put my belongings on the upper shelf and hang my coat on the chair. There was only one item on the menu, so I didn't say anything. A large glass of cold water was served quickly, about 8 minutes later, two bottles were placed on the counter and served. The soup was hot, so be careful. The foie gras yakitori bowl was served in a tall bowl with a small base, making it a bit difficult to hold. The yakitori sauce had a nice aroma, the tsukune was large, as were the two pieces of chicken, and there was a foie gras piece about 1.5 cm thick, along with a single green onion. The tsukune was oval-shaped with a slightly unique taste. The chicken pieces were refreshing, and the green onion was soft. The foie gras was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, truly the star of the dish, but there was a slight lingering smell in some parts, which was a shame. The sauce complemented the dish well, being sweet and savory, enhancing the flavors. The rice grains were small and didn't have much flavor, but the sauce made it tasty. The portion was a bit small for a bowl. The soup contained green onions and seaweed, and although it looked very hot, it had a gentle flavor and was easy to drink. After eating, there were about 17 seats in total, with two 4-person tables, one 2-person table, and a 7-seat counter. When I entered, there was an empty 2-person table and an empty seat at the counter, so they didn't seat me at the 2-person table, probably assuming I was dining alone. When I left around noon, the counter had 7 seats and one 4-person table was empty. They only serve 30 lunches, so there were about 9 servings left, I think. So depending on the day, it may be okay to arrive after the 11:30 opening time. Last week, there was a very long line, and some people were told to give up. The sauce was delicious, but as a yakitori bowl, the taste was a bit lacking. The foie gras was the star and delicious, but there was a slight smell in some parts, which was unfortunate. Still, considering the price, it was a good deal. The staff had lovely smiles. Thank you for the meal!
