■Chilean Empanada A popular meat pie in Chile, perfect for celebrating occasions as an appetizer! Empanada means "to wrap", and it is a thick, crispy pastry filled with minced meat, eggs, olives, and more. It is served with salsa sauce, which is a unique and delicious blend of tomatoes, onions, cilantro, garlic, and spices. The sauce is so tasty that the owner Ed loves to put it on everything. ■Tenderloin Steak BBQ Uruguayan tenderloin grilled on the BBQ in the restaurant. Simply seasoned with salt and pepper, the juicy red meat gives a strong foreign feel. Served on a plate with rice and salad, it's a satisfying dish that energizes you. ■Pisco Sour Cocktail A cocktail made with Pisco, a brandy made from grapes in Chile, mixed with sugar, lime juice, and egg. It has a velvety sweetness with a hint of lime acidity, and the cinnamon sprinkled on top adds a fragrant touch. It's easy to drink but be cautious as it has a high alcohol content. ■Chilean Wine Chilean wine, known for its easy-drinking quality, is enjoyed as a table wine. We had the Santa wine from a prestigious winery with a cute cat label. It's smooth and pairs well with any dish, making it a great choice for a meal. Shop: The highlight of this restaurant is the Chilean owner Ed's warm hospitality. The cozy space with a few tables, counter seats, and a terrace allows for a friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy conversations with other customers. The clientele varies from locals to students seeking Chilean cuisine. The location is convenient, just a 1-minute walk from Shin-Nakano Station. There is no fixed menu, and you decide on dishes while chatting with Ed, making it a unique experience. If you enjoy engaging in conversations, this place is definitely worth a visit. Check it out!

A charming alley in Shin-Nakano with red lanterns and food stalls. I arrived at 18:30. There were already travelers from Chile enjoying their food and drinks. Owner Eduardo greeted us cheerfully, making us feel like old friends. "Relax as if you were at Eduardo's house!" he said, creating a cozy atmosphere in the restaurant. The charm of the restaurant lies in Eduardo's personality, which is second to none. He even has a cute grandchild. He used to be a legendary goalkeeper's agent in Uruguay and guided former Korean national team player Ahn Jung-hwan to Shimizu S-Pulse. He has connections in the soccer industry in South America and Japan. While enjoying food and drinks, Chilean travelers also arrived, and the conversation was lively. It seems the restaurant is well-known in Chile, with articles on TripAdvisor recommending it as a must-visit place in Japan. The menu is simple and easy to read. ◉ [Influencer Special Set] ¥3000 (including tax) Show this post and get it for ¥3800 → ¥3000! A special set with the restaurant's proud dishes. [Contents] [Chilean Empanada] The most popular meat pie in Chile. It is usually eaten as an appetizer at celebrations. It originally contains raisins, but they were removed to suit everyone's taste. It tastes amazing with the homemade salsa sauce! [Tenderloin Steak BBQ] South American tenderloin steak cooked slowly over charcoal, bringing out the meat's flavor and tenderness. Served with creamy mashed potatoes and a green salad. A coarse ground sausage was also added as a bonus. [Pisco Sour Cocktail] A brandy made from Chilean grapes, often consumed as an aperitif. It has a refreshing taste and is very popular! [Chilean Wine] A world-famous Chilean wine! I chose white wine. Alpaca White, a refreshing wine. [Impressions] Eduardo was charming and entertaining throughout. The versatile salsa sauce with plenty of vegetables was so delicious that I wanted to take some home as a souvenir. The dishes were hearty and recommended for those who want a substantial meal. It was a very enjoyable time with a tipsy and full stomach. Thank you for the feast! I will visit again. It was a high-quality time with excellent service. [Store Information] Located a few minutes' walk from Shin-Nakano Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, "Casa de Eduardo" is the only Chilean cuisine restaurant in Tokyo (as of June 2020). Owner Chef Eduardo Ferrada is from Santiago, the capital of Chile. As the name suggests in Spanish, "Eduardo's house," this restaurant makes visitors feel at home.

CASA DE EDUARDO Just 10 seconds walk from Shin-Nakano Station Exit 4! "Casa de Eduardo" is a unique South American Chilean cuisine restaurant in Tokyo, in fact, it is the only one in the city. It has been featured in media such as BRUTUS and Jun Sanpo (May issue). It was my first visit, and the friendly owner introduced me to some lovely regular customers, and we started with a toast! The exterior is lively, and the interior is also bustling with a counter, table seating, and terrace seating. I ordered: - Uruguayan Beef Steak ¥1000 The beef steak, rice, and salad are served on a plate. The steak is simply seasoned with salt and pepper. The lean beef has a rich flavor and umami, with a dynamic chewy texture. It is tender and easy to eat even for women, without greasiness, making it a perfect match with beer. - Empanada ¥500 The empanada, a Chilean specialty, is explained in detail by the staff. This handmade empanada is filled with ground meat, black olives, raisins, boiled eggs, and more. When you take a bite, juicy meat juices overflow. When you generously pour the homemade salsa sauce and take a bite...it's irresistible! The salsa sauce is delicious on meat and salad, leaving a lingering taste. The restaurant, food, and owner are all dynamic! Customers keep coming in one after another, speaking Japanese, Spanish, and English. Sharing tables is common! Everyone who comes is a friend! It's a fun place where even I, who is shy around strangers, didn't have time to be shy. The name "Casa de Eduardo" translates to "Eduardo's House". The owner, Ed, wears a bright red shirt with "Edo no Mise" (Edo's shop) written on the back, and he cheerfully and warmly talks to everyone. Perhaps the best spice for the delicious food is Ed's personality! Thank you for a truly enjoyable and delicious time! They also serve breakfast and lunch, offer takeout, and seem to accept Uber, so I plan to visit again soon. Thank you for the wonderful meal! Address: 1F, Fuji Chateau, 4-1-8 Nakano Central, Nakano-ku, Tokyo.

If you are interested in the article, search for "Shin-Nakano Eduardo" From today until Golden Week, Eduardo is participating in an event in Odaiba for 3 days. Try the empanadas! A quaint alley in Shin-Nakano. A nice atmosphere with red lanterns and food stalls. I arrived at 18:30. Eduardo, the owner, greeted me warmly as if welcoming an old friend. The cozy interior of the shop feels like Eduardo's home. There are table and counter seats in the relaxing shop. A dear old friend, Mamina, arrived and brought sandwiches as a gift. Ajisai arrived a little later. We all gathered and toasted~♪ Looking forward to the traditional Chilean dishes, but the charm of the store is Eduardo's personality, which is the key. He has connections in the soccer industry between South America and Japan, having been the agent for the legendary Uruguayan goalkeeper Chilavert and guiding the former Korean national team player Ahn Jung-hwan to Shimizu S-Pulse. During our meal, Chilean travelers also came, and the conversation was lively. A popular spot known to Chileans, even featured on TripAdvisor as a place to visit in Japan. This time I tried the chicken since I had the Uruguayan beef steak last time. ※All prices include tax. ◉ [Inca Cola] ¥300 A carbonated drink perfect for the upcoming warmer season. A popular South American drink that quenches your thirst. ◉ [Empanada] ¥500 Filled with beef, eggs, onions, and olives. A dish similar to a large fried dumpling with a taste that becomes addictive. It tastes even better with fresh salsa sauce. ◉ [Chicken BBQ Plate] ¥1200 A one-plate dish with a tender texture and overflowing meat juice. Delicious food leaves people speechless. Everyone was eating with great enthusiasm (laughs). These are some of the unique Chilean dishes I have never experienced before. Memorable and intriguing flavors.【Content】[Inca Cola] Although made by Coca-Cola, it is not cola but a different drink. A lightly carbonated refreshing taste. It is said that they couldn't completely reproduce this taste, so they were bought out. [Chilean Empanada] Chile's most popular meat pie. In Chile, it is eaten as an appetizer for celebrations! Originally, it contains raisins, but we had it without them since preferences differ. It becomes the best taste when topped with homemade salsa sauce that goes well with anything! [Chicken BBQ Plate] By cutting and grilling a large chicken slowly, you can taste the original umami of the chicken meat. Eat it while it's warm! Comes with a green salad.【Impressions】As expected, the charming owner Eduardo made the whole experience enjoyable. The versatile salsa sauce with plenty of vegetables was so delicious that I wanted to take some home as a souvenir. The dishes are hearty and recommended for those who want to eat heartily. It was a very enjoyable time with a full stomach and a slight buzz. Thank you for the feast! I will visit again. I tried Chilean cuisine for the first time at this restaurant. As the name suggests, it's a cozy place like the owner Ed's home. When I arrived, Ed greeted me warmly and even showed me recordings of TV appearances he had made in the past. It was so homey and fun! We enjoyed drinks and food, and had a great time! The most memorable dish was the Chilean Empanada, which is like a popular meat pie in Chile. It's not made with pastry dough, but rather a thin bread filled with ground meat, boiled egg, and olives. It's served as an appetizer during celebrations in Chile. I followed Ed's advice to hold it in my hand, take a bite, and then drizzle it with a vegetable salsa sauce. It was delicious! The South American tomato-based vegetable sauce really complemented the meat. I loved it so much that I even bought some to take home. They also offer takeout, so it's great for foodies on the go! Additionally, we had the Pisco Sour cocktail, a refreshing drink made with Pisco, lemon, and syrup, sprinkled with cinnamon powder. It's very easy to drink, but be careful as it's quite strong. We also enjoyed the Tenderloin Steak, a juicy and tender steak cooked over charcoal. It was full of flavor, especially when paired with the Empanada salsa sauce. Highly recommended! We paired it with Chilean wine, Cabernet Sauvignon, which was a perfect match for the steak. Ed, the owner, was so friendly and we had a great conversation. He even had his grandchild's artwork displayed, showing his family connection to Chile. If you're interested in Chilean cuisine in Tokyo, this is the place to go! Due to the current situation, not all menu items may be available, so it's best to make a reservation before visiting. If you can't make it to the restaurant, look out for Ed and his Empanadas at South American events in the city. I highly recommend trying them out. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The overwhelming store run by the Chilean owner Ed. The hospitality is amazing, and everything else is just incredible. The store is chaotic, with Spanish BGM playing in the background and mostly Japanese customers. The flow of time here is completely different. On my first visit, I got a takeout chicken bento for 1000 yen, but I didn't need rice so they made it for 800 yen. The owner, Ed, is friendly and speaks fluent Japanese. On my second and third visits, I had lunch in the store and ordered a beef plate for 1000 yen. I also tried a South American drink called Chicha Morada for 300 yen. The store is unique and has a foreign atmosphere. Ed is a fan favorite with his friendly demeanor and fluency in Japanese. The store is busy with delivery drivers, and it's a bit challenging for Ed to manage everything alone. The payment options are good, but they don't accept IC cards. Also, don't expect the place to be very hygienic despite having hand sanitizer available.

I'm the baseball king Sitou! I put my life on pitching, gourmet food, and alcohol! I wasn't thinking about trying rare Chilean cuisine, but during a walk, I stumbled upon a group playing Latin music. Due to my job, I don't mind the Latin vibe, so I ended up trying a lot of dishes. I recommend trying the Chilean rice soup, which has a gentle taste with a hint of ethnic flavors like cilantro, and a rich, melting meat flavor. The meat pie is also delicious, with the meat flavor soaking into the bread, giving a taste similar to eating a meat bun. It's a delicate taste like a changeup, loved by those with a sensitive palate. The Chilean wine is a must-have, and the atmosphere with the Latin vibe and the master Edo-san is really cool. The roasted chicken is juicy and the burnt skin adds a unique taste. It feels like being in a foreign country with a plate full of flavors. The friendliness and warmth of the Latin music musicians outside added to the fun atmosphere. We couldn't talk about baseball, but it was a fun experience. The Latin vibe and the kindness of the people made it a great place. It will definitely make you want to visit Chile, no doubt about it. See you next time!

A rare Chilean cuisine restaurant in Japan that I had been very curious about. My wife and I decided to visit for dinner on this day. It happened to be a day when we could eat tacos. You can choose to order individual dishes or opt for the all-you-can-eat and drink option for 5,000 yen. The owner brings wine bottles to the table in a grand style. The food is served on simple, plain white plates in a hearty manner, giving the feeling of visiting the owner's home, as the name of the restaurant suggests. The owner and customers are friendly and have a Latin vibe, making it more suitable for going with close drinking buddies or foreign friends rather than a date. The flavors are quite bold and would appeal more to men. If you like beef, you can enjoy a powerful barbecue that is the opposite of Japanese beef. The tacos were delicious, with soft tortillas and plenty of avocado. It's a great place to enjoy Chilean cuisine without traveling abroad.

This was my first time at Shin-Nakano Station, and also my first time visiting a Chilean restaurant. The restaurant is located down a narrow alley, but it's really close once you find it. If you accidentally come out on the wrong side, you can just cross the street and it's right there... However, there were two police cars nearby, so I took a detour to the intersection. Let's go from exit 4. There is outdoor seating with an asado grill outside. I saw regular customers there late at night, probably because the grill was still lit. Ed was outside changing light bulbs. When he finished, in between my dishes, he made empanadas while chatting with a previous customer (a Chilean?). Empanadas kept coming out of the oven in large quantities, almost like a buffet. The menu? It seemed like there wasn't a fixed menu. They could make chicken and something else (I overheard) right away. I chose one empanada and chicken. For drinks, the options were beer or red/white wine. I'm not a fan of bitter alcohol, so I chose wine for a change. I was a bit nervous because I rarely drink 14% alcohol anymore (laughs). Chilean wine at room temperature. It's not something you can gulp down quickly, but it went well with the empanada and roasted chicken. The empanada was completely different from what I had eaten elsewhere. The slightly firm crust with tasty meat inside, including boiled egg. The Chilean customer was watching videos inside while occasionally adding more to eat. The chicken roasted in the oven was indeed quick to make, as they had mentioned. It was already being cooked when I arrived. The outside was nicely browned, and the inside was white. It wasn't red, so it was cooked thoroughly. The taste was very simple. A one-plate meal with rice and half a plate of lettuce. The lettuce was like a green salad with a hint of lemon or slight acidity. The thick chicken meat and simple flavor made me feel full towards the end, and I got a bit tired of it (maybe I could have finished it if I hadn't eaten the empanada). I don't mind the mild flavor. The friendly Ed, with his deep illustrations on Facebook and business cards, looked a bit different in person – like a slightly chubby South American uncle. He seems to be involved in translation work and his Japanese is good. I don't know if he makes Peruvian dishes like ceviche or soup stew, but I would like to come back again. I wouldn't say it's amazing, but I feel like I could grow to like this place.

Eduardo's House is located in a back alley near Shin-Nakano Station Exit 4. The owner, Eduardo, wears a shirt that says "Edo no Ie" which means "Edo's House" in Spanish. The total cost for a beer, three glasses of wine, and two dishes was 5170 yen. The Chilean cuisine was a bit unfamiliar, but the Empanado was tasty - a hollow bread filled with minced meat, topped with tomato and onion sauce. Next, a pork, rice, and salad platter was served, with the pork lacking seasoning and tasting a bit fatty. The beer options were Kirin draft, Corona, and Heartland in bottles, not very Chilean. However, the wine was from Chile, priced at 500 yen per glass, with a slightly acidic and easy-to-drink taste. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was a bit chaotic but relaxed, with a cheerful owner and Chilean TV shows playing in the background. Overall, it was a fun and enjoyable experience.

There is no menu, but it's 2-hour all-you-can-drink and all-you-can-eat for 5000 yen per person. The meal starts with empanadas, followed by salad, rice, and then grilled items like sausages, chicken, beef, pork belly, beef tripe, and more. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, and the owner is very friendly. Highly recommended.

There used to be a restaurant in Akasaka with a different name, where they served Chilean cuisine. The name of the restaurant was named after the owner, Eduardo, and it means "Ed's house". Eduardo is a very friendly and cheerful person, always welcoming customers warmly and making them feel like friends. We tried the empanadas (meat pies), grilled chicken, and potato salad. Although not very unusual, these dishes are commonly enjoyed in Chile. Eduardo was in a good mood and even sat at our table, treating us to a special Pisco (grape brandy, originally from Peru or Chile). There were many different types of Pisco, some brought by acquaintances, and we got to taste a few varieties to appreciate their different flavors. The restaurant has a bit of a local feel, but Japanese customers are also welcome, so feel free to drop by. It may not be for everyone due to the owner's quirks, but if you enjoy it, you're sure to have a great time. It's also recommended for those who want to try different types of Pisco.

I heard from Kenny's review that a chili restaurant opened in this place, so I visited it immediately. I ordered the lentil and chicken stew from the lunch menu for the day (tax included 800 yen). When I mentioned that I also wanted a beer, the response was "Draft?" Hmm. I asked if they didn't have bottled beer due to concerns about the cleanliness of the draft beer tap, and the response was that they had canned beer. So, I just asked for a can of beer/500ml (tax included 400 yen). As I was looking at the menu to see if there were any unusual dishes to add as a snack, Antonio, the waiter, pushed me to try the "Mute con huseillo" (tax included 500 yen). However, I felt hesitant to order something unknown, so I asked what it was, but his broken Japanese was not very helpful. In the end, he asked if I understood Spanish, but I only know a few words like "amigo." I reluctantly declined after reading the menu carefully and realizing it was some kind of sweet juice with radish. Don't recommend such a drink to someone who ordered beer, Antonio. The lentil and chicken stew that came out a while later turned out to be made with what was clearly green peas. Of course, it tasted like green peas. Well, I don't mind them, but still. The seasoning had a hint of spices but was also low in salt. It was either simply seasoned or forgotten to season properly. As I was eating, they brought out a soup (complimentary) saying it was a service (see 4th photo). Antonio, this soup you're serving is made with lentils. If you have lentil soup, why serve something cooked with green peas instead of chicken here? The seasoning of this soup was even lighter than the previous dish, and to me, it seemed like a mix of lentils and canned vegetables. The name of this restaurant is "La Casa de Eduardo," which means "Eduardo's House." So, the owner and chef must be "Eduardo," also known as "Edo-san." But on this day, which was a holiday, it seemed like Eduardo was absent, and only Antonio was at the restaurant. Today's lunch may not truly represent the restaurant's capabilities. Oh well. I'll give it a 3-star rating this time with the spirit of my only known Spanish word, "amigo."

Exiting from the Number 4 exit of Shin-Nakano Station (towards Shinjuku), I ventured into a small alley and found myself drawn to a restaurant with the words "Chilean cuisine" displayed. Intrigued by the idea of trying Chilean food for the first time, I entered the restaurant. The interior was reminiscent of South America, with ethnic costumes and posters adorning the walls. The lunch menu offered three options, and I decided to try the Lenteha con Chancho (lentil and pork stew). The dish was served with rice and tomato salad, all for 800 yen. The food arrived promptly, and the stew of lentils and pork was flavorful, although the garlic was not very prominent. The chef mentioned upcoming specials, such as salmon, pork, and chicken lunches, which piqued my interest. Overall, I enjoyed the simple and homey feel of the meal and left feeling satisfied. I look forward to returning to explore more of Chilean cuisine and perhaps learn more about the diverse regions and dishes of the country.

I came to Shin-Nakano because I heard there is a Chilean restaurant. The shop is visible from exit 4. I got the takeout Chicken Grill for 1000 yen. It comes with salad (lettuce only), rice, chicken, and sauce. The chicken, which is a whole chicken leg, is grilled to perfection and delicious. The fresh sauce with tomatoes is slightly spicy and enhances the flavor of the meat. I also got the Empanada for 500 yen for takeout. It's a South American meat pie. I will reheat it later. The pastry is filled with plenty of minced meat, no strong flavors, and it's also delicious.

Since starting to learn Argentine tango, I have become very interested in South American cuisine. When I go to milongas, which are gatherings for dancing, sometimes they serve their soul food, empanadas. I sometimes get a craving for them, and luckily I found a place nearby that sells them! I have gotten to know the owner a bit and exchange greetings and light conversation in the mornings and evenings, but I always miss their opening hours. However, I found out that they have empanadas available for takeout! They are 500 yen each, and they are filled with a mix of beef and pork with a spicy seasoning, all wrapped in a soft and fluffy dough. I heated it up at home and enjoyed it, imagining the taste of Ed's hometown. It made me reminisce about my past travels abroad. Thank you for the delicious meal!
