It's Friday night today! Tomorrow I have a wedding in the morning, so I decided to casually stroll around Nakano for some food! Even though it wasn't exactly light, I decided to try out this newly opened restaurant that I've been curious about for a while! It was already past 9 PM, so we were seated right away. While the basic meat dishes were good, the hormone dishes seemed to be recommended. We ordered a discounted hormone platter and a hot pot dish (*´艸`*). The salad appetizer was generous in portion and very satisfying! As expected, the hormone dishes were delicious! I highly recommend ordering hormone dishes everyone☆ The only downside was that the stone pot bibimbap was a bit oily. The bill came out to around 10,000 yen for two people♪

I was looking for a place in Nakano where I could make a same-day reservation on Tabelog, and I came across this place. It's a meat shop's own operation, so I was feeling somewhat excited. I made a reservation through Tabelog for the all-you-can-drink option at 1,300 yen, but for some reason, they told me it was 1,800 yen at the store. I wasn't quite satisfied, but I didn't feel like moving to another restaurant, so I went ahead and ordered. The beef sinew was delicious, but the thick-cut beef tongue and heart were just okay, while the cartilage and beef intestines were average. Thank you for the meal.

Visited for lunch on a holiday. The restaurant offers all-you-can-eat, but since I can't eat that much, I ordered the lunch set. I got the Wagyu Upper Kalbi set for 980 yen and added double the meat for an extra 500 yen. The food was served quickly after ordering. The Wagyu Upper Kalbi had a lot of fat. The set came with rice, soup, salad, and Oolong tea. I chose the medium size for the rice. When you grill the Wagyu Upper Kalbi, the fat drips and flames rise. It cooked up quickly. I dipped it in sauce and gochujang, then had it with rice. It was a bit greasy, not too meaty. The person next to me looked like they were enjoying their meal, so I ordered the Tubo Kalbi set for 1100 yen. I forgot to take a picture, but the Tubo Kalbi is grilled on a net, then cut into bite-sized pieces with scissors. The Tubo Kalbi was meaty and delicious! I think the Tubo Kalbi set is the way to go at this restaurant. There was a Nakano Ward PayPay campaign, so I got 30% of the payment amount back as points.

The restaurant offers cheap yakiniku with decent quality. The cholegi salad is coated in a generous amount of sweet and spicy dressing, making it difficult to enjoy a healthy salad. The wagyu sirloin initially came in a small portion of 8 slices, but when we ordered more, it seemed like we got double the amount, leaving us feeling like we were shortchanged. The marinade for the meat was quite strong. The liver slices were very small. Overall, the impression was that the portions were stingy and the flavors were a bit overpowering.

I was walking with the intention of going to another yakiniku restaurant, but I happened to see this place and decided to try the lunch menu, starting with the half-gyutan for 900 yen. However, the yakiniku menu looked so delicious and reasonably priced that I ended up ordering the hormone set meal for 1200 yen. The ordering system using tablets was convenient and stress-free. The restaurant had only 4 tables on the first floor, and on this day, there were two customers in suits already cooking their meat when I arrived at around 11:45 am. The lunch hormone set meal included rice, soup, a salad, and oolong tea. The rice portion was generous, and the oolong tea was provided in a large pitcher for free refills. I tried changing to the cold noodles for an additional 300 yen, and it was a simple but satisfying choice. The hormone meat was marinated in sauce and tasted delicious. The portion was substantial at 300g, but it took some time to cook all of it. I also tried the pot samgyupsal set meal for 1000 yen on my second and third visits, which was a long thick slice of pork belly served in a pot. It was flavorful and filling. On my fourth visit, I tried the kalbi lunch for 730 yen with an additional 300 yen for half-sized beef tongue. The tongue was good quality, but the kalbi was a bit greasy for my taste at this price point. On my fifth visit, I had the negi-tan set meal for 800 yen with an additional 300 yen for cold noodles. The thinly sliced beef tongue was tender and satisfying, and the simple cold noodles with cucumber and egg were refreshing. Overall, the lunch menu at this yakiniku restaurant is reasonably priced, and the atmosphere is comfortable. The staff is efficient, and the ventilation is good, so the smell of grilling meat is not overpowering. I have already visited this place around 10 times and plan to continue going, especially since another price increase is expected in late September.

This restaurant is located in a narrow alley lined with various eateries near the north exit of Nakano Station. I decided to have a late lunch around 2 pm. Although most lunch places were closed or transitioning into afternoon drinking establishments, I stumbled upon this place. I felt like having some yakiniku after a long time. The interior was casual and typical of a yakiniku restaurant. We ordered our lunch sets using a touch panel, just in time for the lunch special. We ordered the Hormone 6-piece set and the Upper Tongue set. Of course, we also ordered some draft beer. We started with a salad while enjoying our beer, and soon the meat arrived. The tongue was thinly sliced and perfect with a squeeze of lemon. The hormone set was surprisingly generous in portion and quite delicious. It was a mix of various cuts, offering a variety of textures and flavors. After the beer, we switched to white Hoppy. Drinking alcohol with yakiniku is great, but we ended up eating quite a bit of rice too. Yakiniku goes well with beer, but it's also perfect with rice. I indulged in yakiniku lunch after a long time and was satisfied with the affordable lunch set!

I visited for lunch on a regular day. I ordered my favorite Yukgaejang soup, spicy. It cost 700 yen. I didn't have high expectations due to the low price, but it was delicious with plenty of ingredients. It's great that you can eat Yukgaejang at this price. I would like to visit again when I'm working in Nakano. Thank you for the meal!

All-you-can-eat starts at 1980 yen excluding tax. However, there is a minimum additional cost of at least 290 yen excluding tax for a drink (soft drink). Even so, it's a reasonable price setting. This time, I ordered the 2980 yen course, and it was a lineup worthy of a hormone shop. Among the all-you-can-eat meats, there were cuts like beef harami, beef skirt, and other less common parts. Overall, the meat was delicious, thick-cut, and satisfying to eat. There wasn't much of a strong odor. They also had black wagyu kalbi and pot series meats like pot harami, pot kalbi, pot samgyeopsal, which were impressive and tasty. The pot kalbi, pot harami, black wagyu kalbi, connective tissue, pork breast, tongue steak, cartilage kalbi, pig's trotters, crunchy cartilage, minoga, salted fatty hormone, chicken harami, negi beef tongue, and other side dishes were included.

The sixth and final stop in the Nakano Station series was my first visit to "Horumon Yakiniku En". They also have a branch in Ikebukuro. I managed to find time during the week to visit. This time, I decided to try something different and ordered the Horumon pot lunch for 1,100 yen. Normally, I see lunches with Kalbi or loin on a plate, so it was rare to see a pot served during lunch, so I decided to give it a try. The thick-cut horumon was 180g and quite a generous portion. After grilling one side, it was cut with scissors, which was quite enjoyable. The flavor was also quite good. Since I felt the portion was not enough, I ordered the digital kalbi as an extra, which was delicious with a well-seasoned taste. While it may not stand out as much as Toraji or Mirakurai in Nakano, it was a reliable restaurant.

Located a 4-minute walk from Nakano Station North Exit in Tokyo, Hormone Yakiniku En Nakano offers the Upper Harami Set Meal for 980 yen. It is a chain of yakiniku restaurants with several locations in Tokyo. Feeling like eating meat, I initially planned to go to Toraji, but there was a wait, so I decided to try En since Toraji tends to be more expensive on Sundays. I arrived just before 2 PM and the restaurant was about 80% full. Soon after ordering, a salad with bean sprouts as the main ingredient and a wakame seaweed soup were served. Shortly after, the meat and rice were brought to the table. Previously, they used to serve cabbage salad and namul separately, but this time they were combined. The meat consisted of 5 pieces of Harami, which were thick and tender, making it a satisfying meal for the price. However, it was disappointing that there were no side dishes typically found in a yakiniku lunch set. Five pieces of meat alone were not enough to finish the rice. Overall, it was a delicious meal!

Located on the left side as you head north on Nakano Friendship Road. The restaurant has a layout resembling a bed of eels, with seating available on the 1st and 2nd floors. They are offering a 50% discount on drinks and also on kimchi and certain types of meat as part of their COVID-19 measures, which seems like a great deal. Beers, kimchi, and negi-tan salt are all half price. I decided to order the Wagyu beef sampler as well, but it is more than twice the price of the former items (1800 yen). The negi-tan salt, when grilled, has a smoky flavor similar to smoked pork tongue salt sold at convenience stores. When eaten with negi and lemon, it's not bad. The Wagyu beef sampler has a decent amount of marbling, but it doesn't come close to the highest grade. The meat is marinated in a sweet sauce. I ordered the Komutan soup in the spicy version, but it was far from spicy, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal by myself.

I often visit for lunch! During lunchtime, I had the yakiniku set meal with wagyu top kalbi, top loin, and imported top harami. All of them had very good meat quality! You can enjoy the unique taste of wagyu for under 1000 yen, making it a great option for those who want to enjoy wagyu at a reasonable price! Also, the all-you-can-eat option at night is very cost-effective, so I highly recommend it for dinner as well! The salt placed on the table is really delicious. It has a concentrated umami flavor, so it tastes great not only on salt-based meats but also on sauce-based meats. This yakiniku restaurant in Nakano is one of the best in terms of cost performance! I went to Nakano for work and discovered this yakiniku restaurant, so I decided to have lunch there. I ordered the negi shio tan set meal for 800 yen. After ordering, a charcoal grill was brought out. The set meal came with side dishes like small bowls, mini salad, and soup, which was satisfying for the price. The negi shio tan was not the usual round type, but a long and thin cut. It was well seasoned and went well with rice. Maybe because it's Nakano, I noticed some people were drinking beer even during the day, so I thought beer would be perfect with yakiniku. I would like to visit again for dinner next time.

Nakano stroll with a detour for lunch and drinks. It's nice to have beer or highball from noon. Orders are placed using a touch screen device on the table. The bill is also calculated per person. Beef tripe for 580 yen, eaten with salt. Crunchy texture, no odor despite just salt and lemon. Well-prepared, tender meat. Hormone platter for 980 yen, with gatsu and hormone identified. Pink tube is the throat. Other two are a mystery but have a delicious harami-like texture. Grilled with salt to show freshness and no odor. Staff quickly replaced the weak grill with a new one. Liver with miso sauce, quickly grilled over high heat. Comtan udon for 780 yen, with comtan soup for 580 yen and adding udon for 200 yen. Soup with a mix of umami and lightness. Udon is also delicious. Enjoying rare cuts of hormone with salt. When tired of regular hormone, this is a good alternative!

Yakiniku all-you-can-eat for 1980 yen!!! The pot samgyeopsal was so juicy, huge, and difficult to cut with scissors! Delicious! I ended up ordering it again! The beef kalbi was delicious too! The sesame sauce was okay, not amazing. The pork deji kalbi was tasty! According to my friend, the tongue was so-so. The liver had a strong smell, I won't order it again! I was happy to see seaweed soup, enoki mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and Korean seaweed! It would be nice to have some leafy greens like lettuce or cabbage to balance out the meat. The sign outside mentioned dessert included but it wasn't on the menu and we didn't get any! They did give us gum at the end, the green kind that loses its flavor quickly. I like it. The all-you-can-eat comes with one drink, so we had soft drinks. The quality for such a cheap price is amazing! They bring out a huge amount of food, so I wanted to try more varieties but I was so full!

I felt like eating meat with a friend, but we didn't have a reservation and couldn't think of any good yakiniku restaurants near Nakano Station, so we decided to go to this place based on cost performance. This restaurant mainly offers all-you-can-eat options. However, since we are not students, we didn't go for the all-you-can-eat option. Yakiniku restaurants tend to be expensive when it comes to drinks, so we opted for the all-you-can-drink option for individual items, but they mentioned that it comes with an appetizer charge, which is not something you hear often at yakiniku restaurants (laughs). When we ordered the domestic beef three kinds platter, the tongue was missing, so we pointed it out and for some reason, it ended up being a four kinds platter with tongue, kalbi, loin, and skirt (laughs). Thank you. We also ordered the hormone platter, but the meat was served in a heavily marinated sauce, which made it a bit too rich and heavy, causing us to stop eating halfway through, which was disappointing (^o^;) It would be nice if they offered a choice between sauce and salt seasoning.

My wife and daughter enjoyed Harajuku and Shibuya at night and came back. I don't really understand what's so fun about it... Anyway, it's time for dinner now. I had ramen in the evening, so I honestly don't feel hungry at all. This was all part of my plan. Since my son and I aren't hungry, my wife, daughter, and grandmother will have dinner. Later, my son and I will use the excuse of being a little hungry to go to an eel skewer restaurant at night. However, things don't always go as planned. The women seemed a bit sulky for some reason. In the end, I had to leave my son behind and go back to Nakano Station for dinner. With my grandmother who has trouble walking, I couldn't thoroughly check the restaurant and just went to a place without a wait... The sign outside looked delicious. But then... all the staff were from the Korean Peninsula?? It's not a big deal, but the atmosphere of the restaurant felt that way too. The staff were speaking Korean to each other.

Located on a street crowded with restaurants near the north exit of Nakano Station, this yakiniku restaurant doesn't particularly stand out, but I decided to stop by during lunchtime. I ordered the Negi Gyutan Set for 800 yen. It comes with rice, soup, salad, and namul. The salad consisted of cabbage and mizuna, while the namul was made of daikon and moyashi. The flavors were quite ordinary and typical. The gyutan is thinly sliced, so it cooks quickly on the grill. Be careful not to put too much on the grill at once. Despite gyutan being a tough cut, the thin slices made it easy to eat. It had a nice chewy texture and each slice was large, providing a satisfying eating experience. Although it's called "Negi" Gyutan, the negi tends to fall off when you flip the meat, so you don't really taste much of it. The taste and portion size were worth the price, and I left feeling satisfied. The restaurant is named "Horumon Yakiniku," so it might be worth trying their horumon dishes as well. I heard their Tsubo Karubi is quite famous. Perhaps it's better to visit in the evening for a different experience? The staff, who were all foreigners, provided friendly service without any language barriers.

Yakiniku restaurant located on the east side of the arcade street leading from the north exit of Nakano Station to Broadway. I went there on a weekday afternoon and it was not crowded. I ordered the 3-item set meal which included kalbi, miso harami, and a chef's choice item, which turned out to be beef tongue. The quality of the meat was not exceptional, but it was tasty and went well with the rice. The portion size was good at 300g, and priced at 1000 yen, it was quite reasonable. It's nice that you can grill your own meat during lunchtime.
