At the end of the year, I felt like having yakiniku, so I decided to visit this popular restaurant that I had been curious about. I made a same-day reservation and the only available time slot was 9:00 PM. Luckily, I was seated in a private room. Even though it was late, the counter seats, box seats, and private rooms were all bustling with customers, showing that it was a popular spot.
I ordered the following items:
- Yukke (seared) 1,100 yen
- Yaki suki 1,700 yen
- Raw tongue with salt 1,650 yen
- Upper kalbi 1,800 yen
- Upper loin 1,800 yen
- Wagyu harami 1,700 yen
- Seared liver 950 yen
- Yukkejang soup 800 yen
All the meats at this restaurant had a beautiful marbling. Even though they appeared to have a lot of fat, the balance was just right and they didn't feel heavy at all. The sauce was not too strong, allowing the deliciousness of the meat to shine through. The yukke had green onions and onions, providing a crunchy texture and a spicy kick that complemented the meat well.
The yaki suki was a must-try dish. I've had yaki suki at various restaurants before, but this one was my favorite. It was seared on one side, topped with green onions and garlic chives, rolled up, and dipped in egg yolk. The taste was exquisite, with the tender, melting meat complemented by the green onions and garlic chives, enhanced by the crisp sauce and sweet egg yolk. It was a complete and delicious dish even without white rice.
The upper tongue with salt was firm and had a good bite. The saltiness was just right, and the flavor intensified as I chewed. The upper kalbi and upper loin had particularly beautiful marbling. Both were easy to eat with a good amount of fat. I wish there was white rice to accompany them.
I had grilled vegetables and garlic with my meal. The harami had a lot of fat, making it a bit difficult to eat due to the presence of tendons. The seared liver was soft and had no unpleasant odor, making it suitable even for those who don't like liver. It paired well with sesame oil and garlic.
The yukkejang soup was full of ingredients and delicious. It contained fluffy eggs, fernbrake, spinach, green onions, garlic chives, and bean sprouts. It had a spicy kick and a rich sweetness that was perfect for finishing off the meal.
All the meats were delicious and satisfying. Although there was a 5% service charge at this restaurant, all the staff were efficient and friendly. It was a great way to end the year with delicious yakiniku, and I was happy to discover my favorite yaki suki. I look forward to visiting again.
