I felt like eating shrimp fried rice, so I decided to try this place instead of my usual spot. The shrimp fried rice had the perfect amount of saltiness and umami flavor, just like the classic Chinese restaurants in town. The portion was quite generous and I left feeling satisfied. I also ordered the large-sized dumplings, which came in a set of 5. The atmosphere is lively as it mainly caters to groups for all-you-can-eat and drink parties, but it's also a nice place to quickly grab a meal or have a drink. The only downside is that the underground location causes poor cell phone reception.

2023.03.18 (Sat) Rainy, First visit, Entered at 11:07, First customer, No other customers later, Served at 11:14 Ordered Vegetable Tanmen: 800 yen Visited in search of Tanmen. Confirmed "Vegetable Tanmen" on the menu near the entrance and entered the restaurant located underground. Sat at an available seat and ordered "Vegetable Tanmen". Immediately, cold light oolong tea was placed on the table. Soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, and pepper were all available on the table. After about 7 minutes, Vegetable Tanmen was served along with rice, pickles, and almond jelly on a tray. The noodles in the Vegetable Tanmen were yellow, curly, flat noodles. The texture was slightly soft when chewed, but smooth and easy to swallow. The ingredients included pork, cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots, onions, greens, and wood ear mushrooms. The pork and vegetables were stir-fried before being combined with the soup. The pork was thinly sliced shoulder loin, similar to the green pepper beef seen in set meals. It was tender with a good amount of softness. The vegetables like cabbage were cooked thoroughly, not too firm, and easy to eat. The portion was slightly over 200g, but with rice included, it felt like a good amount. The wood ear mushrooms had a soft texture without much elasticity. The soup was a cloudy, salty broth made mainly from pork bones, chicken bones, and aromatic vegetables. It had a distinctive flavor of continental-style Chinese cuisine, rich in umami but slightly one-dimensional in taste. The saltiness was just right, and there was a generous amount of oil, giving the soup a rich and hearty taste. The temperature of the soup was slightly on the lower side. Finished the noodles and ingredients but left about half of the soup. The amount of rice, about a small bowl, was just right. However, the salty flavor of the Tanmen was a bit overwhelming. Managed to finish with the side dishes and pickled ginger. The complimentary side dishes of boiled egg, chicken nuggets?, and shredded cabbage were placed on the table. Each person got one small boiled egg seasoned with a light soy sauce dressing, which was delicious. The chicken nuggets? were small and round, slightly warm. The thick batter had a small amount of chicken inside. Tasted great when dipped in soy sauce from the table. The pickled ginger was a simple and refreshing finish. The almond jelly was cold, sweet, and delicious. Overall, the taste was average. However, with the rice and complimentary side dishes, the value for money was high. The service was average, and the cleanliness of the restaurant was decent. Thank you for the meal.

I was wondering where to have lunch, and I happened to peek into an alley where I found a Chinese restaurant. It looked quiet and hidden, so I mustered up the courage to go in. It was past 2 o'clock, so there weren't many customers. In times like these, I decided to avoid dishes with eggs and ordered the shrimp and egg stir-fry set meal. It was served with a chili sauce that was slightly different from shrimp chili, but it had plenty of shrimp and the eggs were fluffy. It tasted delicious! And all of this for only 850 yen! If I worked around here, I would definitely become a regular customer. They had about 10 different set meal options, and even daily specials. What a hidden gem I found!

Platto, today's lunch was an exploration around Tsukiji Station. When you exit from Exit 4 of Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line Tsukiji Station, you will see Shiodome Avenue to your right. Make a U-turn and walk towards Tsukiji for a bit until you reach the traffic light at Tsukiji 3-chome. Keep going straight at this traffic light and after a short walk, you will reach a T-junction. Turn right at the T-junction and continue walking until you see Tsukiji K-1 Building on your right. There is a staircase leading to the basement on the left side of this building. Descend the stairs to the basement and you will find the restaurant "Jukouen" on the right side. I entered the restaurant at 12:50 on a weekday. Upon entering, a male staff member guided me to a table near a small raised platform on the right side. Looking around the restaurant, I noticed that it was quite crowded with a total of 22 customers seated at tables and the raised platform. This indicated that the restaurant is quite popular. As I sat down at the table, I checked the menu which offered a variety of options such as daily specials, Chinese rice bowls, set meals, and hand-pulled noodle lunch sets. Since I didn't find anything I particularly wanted in the daily specials, I decided to choose the "Five-Ingredient Tanmen" from the set meal menu. I placed my order with the male staff member and was informed that there were complimentary side dishes available on a table near the entrance until 2 PM. I went to the table and helped myself to "Fried Chicken", "Simmered Egg", "Salad", "Mandarin Orange", and "Red and White Pickled Vegetables". I returned to my table and started enjoying the side dishes while waiting for my main dish to arrive. After a few minutes, my "Five-Ingredient Tanmen" set was served. The set included the noodle soup, rice, pickled vegetables, and almond pudding. I had been eating the complimentary side dishes continuously, so I didn't feel like I had waited long for my main dish. The waiting time from ordering to serving was 13 minutes. The contents of the "Five-Ingredient Tanmen" set were delicious and satisfying. Overall, the experience at Jukouen was enjoyable and the restaurant's popularity was evident from the bustling atmosphere.

Tsukiji Roadside Continental-style Chinese cuisine! The recommended item here is the all-you-can-eat side menu! Fried chicken! Shredded cabbage salad! Boiled egg! Orange! As soon as you order, head to the little buffet! The fried chicken is made with chicken breast but has a moist texture! The shredded cabbage has a healthy feel to it! It's great that you can eat while waiting for the main dish! Time to make the most of it while the main dish arrives soon! Here we go! Seafood knife-cut noodles! A bowl full of ingredients appears! Shrimp! Squid! Small clams! The seafood members are quite fulfilling! The soup is cloudy, like champon, with the umami of sautéed vegetables melting out! The knife-cut noodles have a slightly thick and chewy texture, filling up the stomach while being nicely coated with the soup! As you progress through the generously portioned knife-cut noodles, you start craving for some meat! Add the fried chicken! The richly seasoned fried chicken batter and the meat's fat blend into the soup, creating a delicious flavor! Finished eating! Well, well, unexpectedly, I'm full! The fried chicken goes well with the salt-based soup! With a variety of lunch menu options, this is a great place to go when you want to eat to your heart's content!

I chose the fried chicken for ¥800 for the first time in a while, hoping to relieve muscle pain from mountain climbing with protein. The fried chicken, covered in a flavorful sauce, had a hint of spiciness, which was not bad. Additionally, it was nice to have complimentary dishes like pickled radish and seasoned eggs at this price point. The restaurant boasts Sichuan cuisine.

I visited during lunchtime! It's great to be able to enjoy such authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine at such a good cost performance in the city center, so I visited again. There were fewer customers than last time, so it was calm. It must be really busy during the actual lunch hours... I'm curious about the various menu items, but once again I ordered the daily lunch special. It was an egg and seafood stir-fry set meal. The flavor was very rich and the rice went down easily. With almond jelly, kimchi, soup, and a buffet, all for less than 800 yen, it's revolutionary. No wonder it gets crowded. I'll be back soon! Thank you for the delicious meal as always.

I visited for lunch. I wanted to eat Chinese food like this set meal! There are lunch menu + daily lunch menu, so there are plenty of choices and it's hard to decide. The restaurant was packed with office workers and was full! By the time I left, it had cleared up a bit, but it was busy all along. I ordered my favorite dish, the green pepper shredded pork set meal. It took quite a while to be served due to a mistake by the staff. My companion had their dish in front of them within 5 minutes ◎ The taste was solid and made me feel like having a beer... but I resisted. I couldn't help but check out what other tables were ordering. The portions seem generous, so the cost performance seems good. You can have unlimited rice and soup, and it seems like you can get various items at the bar counter for an additional charge. I will definitely go again!

After the lifting of the state of emergency measures, I visited for the first time. As always, this cheap and popular Chinese-style izakaya is quiet and you can relax. The "evening drink set" for 1,100 yen includes draft beer, saliva chicken, and shrimp in chili sauce, which is just the right amount and tastes good. If you order items individually, it would easily cost around 2,000 yen. I also added a plum sour and fried chicken cartilage for a total of just over 2,000 yen before leaving. The only downside is that the mobile phone reception is poor. I will definitely come back.

I visited a Chinese izakaya a few minutes' walk from Tsukiji Station for the first time. They are open relatively late, which is convenient. I ordered the evening set for 1,180 yen, the Gomoku Ramen for 780 yen, and a lemon sour for 380 yen. The evening set included beer, steamed chicken with green onion sauce, and tomato and egg stir-fry. It was a good value for the price, with a decent amount of food. While I could taste some artificial seasoning, it was good enough to accompany a regular day's beer. I finished with a lemon sour and the Gomoku Ramen, which was also delicious with plenty of ingredients. It was a calm atmosphere, probably because it wasn't crowded.

I visited a restaurant located underground in Tsukiji and ordered a dish of pork, mushrooms, and egg stir-fry. The taste was very artificial, like typical Chinese food in town (laughs). I usually don't like artificial flavors, but the minced pork and tofu dish was surprisingly delicious. When I looked at the menu, I saw a dish called "Spicy Stir-Fried Silkworm Pupae," which makes me want to visit again.

I've been to quite a few Chinese restaurants around Tsukiji, but there are still many places I haven't visited yet. This restaurant is one of them. It just opened in August this year. It's located in a somewhat alley-like underground location. The lunch menu is extensive. They have 20 regular set meals, 9 types of knife-cut noodles lunches, and 5-6 daily lunch specials. On this day, I chose the sweet and spicy pork set meal. Lately, I've been eating a lot of sweet and spicy pork, but this place specializes in Sichuan cuisine, so the sweet and spicy pork was quite spicy and really made the rice go down well. Also, they have fried chicken, boiled eggs, oranges, and other items available for self-service, which is a nice touch. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant is located very close to my home, so I use it occasionally. It is a typical Chinese restaurant run by Chinese people in the city, but the food is very delicious. I wonder if the chef has received proper training? It tastes a little different. It's really delicious.

The fried rice was bland, so I added soy sauce and pepper to enhance the flavor. Also, I bit into a whole star anise and thought my tooth was going to break.

The interior of the restaurant is spacious, giving off a typical Chinese izakaya vibe. I had the oil-drizzled chicken set for lunch, and it was quite delicious. The menu is also extensive, making me want to come back again and again. It seemed quite busy during lunchtime.
