As a curry lover, I would like to try it. The other day, I persuaded my daughter who went to Marugame to go to Marugame and ordered the meat-topped tomato curry udon. It came with a side of small rice. The curry was a little spicy but delicious. I think it goes well with rice. I would like to go back again.

I stopped by on my way to the outdoor village in Akishima. I used it for lunch. It was just around noon on Sunday. There was a line outside the shop, but I didn't have to wait too long to get inside. The line was long, but the wait time for ordering was not too bad. They have a fast turnover. I ordered two squid tempura for 130 yen each, and one regular size noodles for 300 yen. I found a seat right away and started eating. The taste was the usual... gentle dashi broth. The regular size noodles were just the right amount to eat quickly. The chicken tempura was also a classic, but it was delicious and crispy, seemed like it was freshly fried. It was nice to get a discount on tempura through the app. Thank you for the meal.

Curry udon 490 yen, hot spring egg 70 yen, mentaiko rice ball 140 yen, total: 700 yen. Visited on a weekday at 12:30 with 2 people. It was hot, but I felt like eating curry udon for some reason, so I decided on that. It was my first time trying it, and it felt like the curry was a bit light, I prefer it to be more bold and strong. Maybe they intentionally kept it light to not overpower the udon broth? The toppings matched well with the curry. The mentaiko rice ball was small but had plenty of filling and was delicious. Personally, I prefer bukkake or hiyashi (cold) udon here, so next time I want to try that!

"Ghost-possessed meat udon (regular) for 690 yen, with a hot spring egg for 70 yen. Visited with one other person on a weekday at 1:00 PM. The restaurant was full, waited about 10 minutes. Added plenty of green onions and tempura flakes before digging in. The meat was just right in sweetness, tender, and delicious! The udon was as good as always. Thanks to the ghost-possessed sauce, it was very refreshing to eat. I tried to get takeout from a different location recently but gave up due to the long line. Luckily, I came across this place on my way to work. During lunchtime, all restaurants seem to have lines because they are popular. It must be because of the consistent taste and affordable prices. When I passed by this location on a Saturday, there was a line outside. I would like to come back to try a different kind of udon!"

I saw a TV program featuring udon from Kagawa Prefecture and headed straight to Marugame Seimen. I parked my car in the parking lot and entered the store. It was crowded and popular. I lined up at the order counter and was initially confused by the Marugame Seimen style. They had a lineup of the classic "kake udon" with toppings like shrimp tempura, shrimp tempura, tenkasu, green onions, and grated ginger. The soup had a delicious flavor from the dried baby sardines, and the udon was chewy and tasty. The tempura was crispy and delicious, especially when dipped in the soy sauce broth on the table. Adding fried tempura bits and grated ginger halfway through made it even more delicious. The cost performance was great, and the staff's service was good. It was a delicious meal. Thank you, I will come again.

It was a bit difficult to make a right turn into the store along the Shin-Okutama Street from the direction of Akishima, so I went further east, made a right turn at the signal, and circled around to the back of the store to park my car. It was past 1 pm, so the lunchtime rush was over, and I quickly ordered a cold udon for 290 yen, a ham cutlet for 190 yen, and a hot spring egg for 70 yen. I paid and started eating. By showing the Marugame app screen on my smartphone, I also got a free sudachi from Tokushima (until the end of October). The ham cutlet was quite thick and tasty when squeezed with sudachi. The cold udon dipped in cold broth was also delicious. I tried putting a few noodles in the small bowl of hot spring egg and mixing it with the yolk, which was also good. After eating about half of the udon, I squeezed the sudachi into the cold broth, added the remaining hot egg and ham cutlet to the bowl, and enjoyed it all at once. The combination of cold broth and sudachi was excellent, and it was very delicious when mixed with the noodles. I finished everything, even the broth. Thank you for the meal.

I saw a Marugame flyer in the Tokyo newspaper, so my whole family went to try it out. Good evening. I don't remember much, but someone somewhere recommended the tantan udon, so I ordered the Tantan Udon (hot) for 850 yen (tax included) - 100 yen (discount from the flyer) for myself, my wife and toddler had the Tamatoro Large for 790 yen (tax included) - 50 yen (discount from the flyer), and we also ordered 100 yen for Inari, 110 yen for Imoten (tax included), and 150 yen for Kashiwa Tempura (tax included). The total was 1850 yen. The Tantan Udon was spicy and not bad, but not particularly delicious either. The soup splashes a lot and looks like it's separating because they use ground sesame to cut costs. The ground meat in the tantan was okay, but had some weird cartilage or tendon in it, like 10% of Nishikori Kori-Otoko style. Personally, I think it's quite overpriced for what you get at Marugame, so I wouldn't say the tantan udon is great. It also gets a bit too heavy and cloying. However, the "Tokumori" (double noodles, slightly more ingredients) for an additional 200 yen (exceptions apply) felt worth it. The Tamatoro was basically Gyudon Udon, slightly sweeter than the taste at a Gyudon chain. The restaurant itself has gotten quite dirty. The baby chairs were the stickiest I've ever seen, and even after wiping the tables with disinfectant wipes, they were still sticky. It felt like they were relying too much on customers to clean up after themselves. I think it's not good to rely so much on part-time staff without proper management. It must be really tough for the manager if they only have one full-time employee and a lot of part-timers. It's a pity. It seems like the restaurant has turned into a downward spiral. I'm curious about trying the Curry Udon and the Cold Niku Miso next time. Thank you for the meal.

I happened to stop by the Marugame Seimen along the Shin-Okutama Street. I ordered the "Gyudon Kamaage Udon (regular, hot) for 640 yen with Chikuwa Tempura for 110 yen". I'm not an udon expert, but I have been frequenting Marugame Seimen lately. I'm not sure why, but I really love the combination of beef sukiyaki and egg, which I think wouldn't work as well with soba. I recently tried Hanamaru Udon as well, but I feel that the broth lacks a punch compared to here, so I am definitely a Marugame fan. I don't really care about the udon itself, that's all (laughs).

It was hot outside, and I was in the mood for something light, so I decided to stop by Marugame Seimen. This was only my second time visiting, so I wasn't sure how to order and ended up asking the staff for help. I played it safe and ordered the regular size Kamaage Udon (290 yen) with Chikuwa Tempura (120 yen) and Renkon Tempura (110 yen) as additional toppings. Many customers seemed to be conscious of social distancing, wiping down their tables and creating space before eating. I followed suit and did the same. The udon was pretty standard, with some green onions and ginger added in. I wish the noodles had a bit more chewiness to them, but considering the price, I was satisfied. The disappointing part was the tempura - it was dry on the inside and the outer coating was tough. I remember having better tempura elsewhere.

Lunch at Marugame is great value for money in terms of filling you up. My go-to is the large serving of Kama-age udon. Today, I really wanted some tempura, so I got the eggplant tempura as well, which was big and impressive.

The shop is really crowded! The parking lot is big and easy to park in. The lady taking orders and making food was very efficient and the curry udon was delicious! I finished every last bit.

The portion of kakiage was clearly less than 2 eggs, more like 1.5 eggs, and the tempura lacked self-explanation. The noodles were soggy and overcooked. Overall, I was not impressed with the quality of the food. Allowing young employees to prepare the dishes can affect the taste negatively.
