I will review the melon pan from the Famima near Kimura's house. It costs 108 yen (tax included) and it is made by Pasco. Last year, they used French fermented butter (I think it was from Normandy), which I really liked because of its buttery aroma that went well with the crispy melon crust. However, since around February this year, they switched to using fermented butter of unknown origin. The taste has definitely gone down a notch. Nevertheless, among the convenience store melon pans, this one has the best crispy texture of the melon crust. The crispy texture comes from the cookie dough, and the mystery behind the crunchiness is the chunks of granulated sugar on top. When you take a bite, there is a strange smell that comes through the dough. It seems like there are some weird powders mixed in. Despite that, I quite like it and often buy it as a snack when I stop by Famima. In the convenience store melon pan category, it ranks second after Lawson's melon pan.

Since a new Ito Yokado opened nearby, the area has become more lively with more stores. However, this area is surrounded by residential streets with narrow roads, so I have to be careful when driving. I like to reset my mood with a drink, and of course, I always get the grilled salmon. It has just the right amount of saltiness, and it's the perfect accompaniment to tea.
