Located in Minami Aoyama, the wine bistro "Escargot" is a must-visit for those who truly love bistros, want to immerse themselves in a Parisian atmosphere, and wish to enjoy a lovely cafe time in Minami Aoyama, Gaienmae. "Escargot" opened in November at Gaienmae after the closure of Nid CAFE in Omotesando due to the redevelopment of the Aoyama Patio building. The chef from the old store, which had been operating for 20 years near Omotesando Intersection, is known for using fresh vegetables, as well as game meat such as lamb and venison. The escargot dish, which is the specialty of the restaurant, features French snails baked in the oven with a delicious sauce made of butter and blue cheese. The new location of Escargot has a wood-themed interior that exudes a bistro atmosphere, located on the 3rd floor of the "VIVRE AOYAMA" building, just like the French restaurant "l'intemporel." The lunch menu includes various options such as lunch courses on weekends, lunch sets with options like fish fritters, sautéed chicken, and roasted lamb, daily lunch specials, and weekend cafe time. I recently visited the bistro and ordered the "Menu du jour" lunch set which included a warm carrot soup, a croissant, a leafy salad with various delicacies, and a Socca crepe topped with ham and Parmesan cheese. The Socca crepe was made of chickpea flour, giving it a unique flavor, and it was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere of the bistro was cozy, and it was clear that many customers from the old store continued to visit, enjoying the company of the friendly staff. Don't miss out on their famous pudding, which is available every other week, and make sure to check their Instagram for updates.
