This is a restaurant located on the 8th floor of the station building 'My Lord' directly connected to Shinjuku Station South Exit, serving Eastern European cuisine from Russia, Georgia, and other countries. The restaurant has a typical feel of a station building, with no door at the entrance, allowing you to see inside from the station building corridor. At the far end, there are windows where you can see Lumine and Koshu Kaido. The natural light coming in makes the interior bright. There are several tables for 1 to 4 people. The menu is priced around 1,500 to 2,000 yen per dish, which is relatively high. You can enjoy classic dishes like borscht, piroshki, and cabbage rolls. We ordered the following dishes:
- Variety Set E (2,123 yen): A green salad with lettuce as the base, topped with fried pearl barley. The pearl barley is crispy like a snack and adds a slightly nutty flavor. The salad is dressed with sesame dressing.
- Borscht: A tomato-based soup with beef and vegetables, featuring beets for a unique color and flavor. The soup also includes cabbage, carrots, potatoes, and the distinctive sour cream.
- Collagen-Infused Piroshki: Deep-fried piroshki served hot and crispy, filled with meat seasoned with tomato sauce. The meat flavor is not overpowering, giving a simple and rustic impression.
- Thinly Sliced Chicken and Mushroom Pot Pie: A pot pie with a paprika-based cream stew filling, generously filled with chicken, mushrooms, and other vegetables. The pot pie crust is flavored with green tea and sesame, adding a unique twist.
- Russian Tea: A tea blend with strawberry jam, honey, and red wine, offering a slightly sweet and complex flavor profile.
Overall, the restaurant provides a unique experience for those looking to try Russian cuisine. The prices may be a bit high, but considering the rarity of Russian restaurants, it's worth a visit for those interested in exploring different cuisines.
