There is hardly any Russian vibe at this restaurant. It caters more to Japanese tastes rather than offering authentic Russian cuisine. It feels more like a Western-style restaurant. The food is delicious for a Western-style restaurant, but if you want to experience the atmosphere of Russia, you should try a different Russian restaurant. There is hardly any Russian language used in the restaurant, and there are no Russian or Eastern European people present. Even if you try to speak to the staff in Russian, they will ignore you.

During my childhood, my parents used to take me to a restaurant in Shinjuku San-chome. I don't remember much, but I faintly recall there being Matryoshka dolls. I was seated at a table with a beautiful view, ordered a set meal, and was excited to see it come with pierogi, omurice, hamburger, and borscht - like a kids' lunch. The borscht had a refreshing tomato flavor that I enjoyed. The omurice wasn't just ketchup rice. The hamburger was packed with vegetables, giving it a healthy feel, but as I ate, I started to worry about the pierogi. (I managed to finish everything.) The pierogi was filled with plenty of minced meat and served piping hot, so I ate it while huffing and puffing. It was a hearty and nostalgic meal that left me feeling satisfied both physically and emotionally. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Tokyo has a Russian restaurant in Shinjuku called Matryoshka. Last night, I couldn't go home due to the suspension of the Shinkansen, and the next morning it was still not operating. I wanted to kill time until the service resumed, but Tokyo Station was predicted to be extremely crowded, so I had a lunch session with another acquaintance in Shinjuku. Shinjuku was as crowded as ever, so we decided to eat at Lumine. I faintly remember going to a Russian restaurant called "Baikal" in Namba a long time ago, but this might be my first time at a Russian restaurant. I ordered a set of borscht, piroshki, and pot roast. First, the borscht arrived. I imagined it would be creamier, but it was more like a tomato-flavored minestrone. The simmered vegetables and acidity were good. I wonder if the red color comes from beets? Next came the piroshki, which was like fried bread and seemed like something kids would enjoy. Lastly, the pot roast arrived. It was a dish where a pottery cup was covered with bread. It had plenty of cheese and mushrooms, creating a rich and creamy flavor. It would go well with wine. Delicious. I believe they have been adapted for Japanese tastes, but everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Lunch with friends on a Saturday. While other restaurants in Milord were crowded, this one seemed easy to get into and my friend recommended it because she had enjoyed it before. The recommended pot dish had four different types of soup to choose from. It was like a pie with a chewy dough instead of a crust. My friend didn't agree, but I thought it was similar to the green xiaolongbao in Chinatown. It was made with matcha and green tea. The set menu had a lot of options, and I was torn between various dishes like gratin, omurice, and borscht that others were ordering. I ended up ordering the quiche that caught my eye, and I was satisfied with it. It was really delicious. The set drink was recommended by my friend, with options like strawberry jam or red wine added to black tea. My friend who recommended it also enjoyed it. I ordered the collagen and lemon drink, which was also very tasty. The portion size and taste were worth the price. It was convenient that we could pay separately.

20 years ago, my grandmother used to take me on outings to Shinjuku a few times a year. For some reason, every time she would always take me to this restaurant, where we would eat piroshki and pot-stewed dishes. I wonder why my grandmother always chose Russian cuisine... I remember the restaurant used to have a darker interior back then, but when I asked the colorful-haired staff, they said they had moved and renovated a few years ago. I also recognized that staff member from before. My grandmother is still healthy and well. By the way, the jam-filled tea is delicious.

I have been visiting this restaurant since it was in Sezon Plaza. I am a fan of this place for 30 years. As always, the food was really delicious today. The borscht and tsuboyaki are always delicious, and whenever I go to Shinjuku, I always end up stopping by. I don't know about other Russian restaurants, so I'm not sure if this place offers authentic Russian flavors or if it's adjusted for Japanese taste. But it's delicious, so that's all that matters. Next time, I want to try pelmeni. Today, I ordered the borscht and tsuboyaki set. The filling for the tsuboyaki is small shrimp and spinach. And now, the bread covering the tsuboyaki is made with green tea and matcha kneaded into the dough, giving it a very fragrant taste. I will definitely go back to eat when I go to Shinjuku again.

In recent years, there has been a rapid decrease in valuable Russian restaurants. I visited around 12:00 on a weekday and there were already several groups waiting in line. After waiting for about 10-15 minutes, I was seated. The crispy barley on the salad was delicious. The piroshki was a fluffy bread. The borscht had a comforting flavor. Surprisingly, the optional dessert of grapefruit jelly was good, with the refreshing taste of grapefruit. Taste: average, Service attitude: average+, Hygiene: average-

This is a restaurant located on the 8th floor of the station building 'My Lord' directly connected to Shinjuku Station South Exit, serving Eastern European cuisine from Russia, Georgia, and other countries. The restaurant has a typical feel of a station building, with no door at the entrance, allowing you to see inside from the station building corridor. At the far end, there are windows where you can see Lumine and Koshu Kaido. The natural light coming in makes the interior bright. There are several tables for 1 to 4 people. The menu is priced around 1,500 to 2,000 yen per dish, which is relatively high. You can enjoy classic dishes like borscht, piroshki, and cabbage rolls. We ordered the following dishes: - Variety Set E (2,123 yen): A green salad with lettuce as the base, topped with fried pearl barley. The pearl barley is crispy like a snack and adds a slightly nutty flavor. The salad is dressed with sesame dressing. - Borscht: A tomato-based soup with beef and vegetables, featuring beets for a unique color and flavor. The soup also includes cabbage, carrots, potatoes, and the distinctive sour cream. - Collagen-Infused Piroshki: Deep-fried piroshki served hot and crispy, filled with meat seasoned with tomato sauce. The meat flavor is not overpowering, giving a simple and rustic impression. - Thinly Sliced Chicken and Mushroom Pot Pie: A pot pie with a paprika-based cream stew filling, generously filled with chicken, mushrooms, and other vegetables. The pot pie crust is flavored with green tea and sesame, adding a unique twist. - Russian Tea: A tea blend with strawberry jam, honey, and red wine, offering a slightly sweet and complex flavor profile. Overall, the restaurant provides a unique experience for those looking to try Russian cuisine. The prices may be a bit high, but considering the rarity of Russian restaurants, it's worth a visit for those interested in exploring different cuisines.

Around 3:00 PM, I had a late lunch at this restaurant. I ordered the Stroganoff set (968 yen). It was a light set without the pot cooking. Even at this time, the restaurant was about 80% full. The interior is not very spacious, but there are more tables than I expected. You can see outside well through the large windows. The atmosphere is bright and pleasant. The salad was easy to eat with sesame dressing. The crispy puff on top was delicious. It seems to be made of Job's tears. The Stroganoff, paired with butter rice, was rich and easy to eat without any strong flavors. It was delicious. Next time, I want to try the pot cooking or the piroshki.

Shinjuku Nishiguchi will be closing down for development, including Lumine 1 which will gradually close its business from March next year (even though Sombre opened recentlyㅠ_ㅠ). I couldn't go there, so I went to Matryoshka for lunch and ordered the borscht and piroshki set. It was a holiday lunchtime, so there was a wait of 4 groups. I was a bit anxious about making it to my next appointment, but the food was served very quickly, which was a relief! There weren't many staff members, but they were always attentive, so I have no complaints about the service. The salad with buckwheat and Russian tea were delicious. The filling in the piroshki was a bit lacking, and I was hoping for a more crispy bread, so it was a bit disappointing. The set comes with salad and a drink, so it's recommended for women. The tea had jam melted in it. The jam had strawberry chunks with a slight bitterness amidst the sweetness, which I quite liked. The solo seats by the window offer a nice view of the ever-changing Shinjuku, making it a pleasant lunch experience.

Last year? There was delicious smoked salmon and grilled green vegetables. When I arrived, the staff greeted me with a lovely smile and guided me to my seat. I had a single seat by the window with a beautiful night view. The menu had a variety of options, but I decided on the stuffed cabbage roll set. For my drink, I chose Russian black tea served in a bottle, which was easy to drink and delicious. The salad with barley and the piroshki were served. The salad portion was quite generous, and the piroshki had a slightly strong tomato sauce. The stuffed cabbage roll had a nice aroma, tender cabbage, and flavorful meat filling. The tomato sauce with sour cream added richness to the dish. After finishing the cabbage roll, I had a dessert with matcha and green tea pie crust filled with vegetables like paprika, pumpkin, and broccoli. The smoked salmon I enjoyed last time had fewer pieces this time, which was a bit disappointing. The white sauce made with soy milk was moist and tasty. The Russian black tea with strawberry jam, red wine, and honey was sweet, but the unique sweetness made it enjoyable. Overall, the cabbage roll was filling and delicious, but the smoked salmon portion was smaller this time. The restaurant pays attention to the quality of water, which was delicious. The service was quick, and the staff had lovely smiles, creating a pleasant dining experience. Takeout is available.

I ordered various unfamiliar Russian dishes to try and see what they were like. They were all delicious, but the pot stew took quite a long time to be served. It would have been better if I could have eaten it with the omurice and pierogi.

The last time I had the seasonal hot pot here, it was so delicious that I decided to come back after a long time. Still during lunchtime, the menu outside the restaurant had changed. Upon entering, I noticed that there were 5 groups of customers already seated. The staff members greeted me with lovely smiles and recommended three available spots for me to choose from. The window seats were all taken, so I opted for a table near the entrance. They served me a bottle of cold water with a special touch and a cup. I decided to have the seasonal hot pot with summer vegetables and ripe tomatoes. For my drink, I usually go for Russian black tea, but this time I chose a collagen-infused bottled lemon drink. The food arrived relatively quickly. I started with a barley and green salad, which had a nice crunch to it and paired well with the soy sauce dressing. Mid-meal, they brought me a cheese quiche, which was small but tasty with salmon, mushrooms, and cheese. I wished there was more salmon in it because it was delicious. The hot pot with summer vegetables was delightful with corn, cherry tomatoes, edamame, cucumber, and a creamy soy milk sauce that had a smooth texture and rich flavor. I felt like I could still eat more, so I added some perimeni to my order. They suggested I squeeze some lemon juice on top before eating. Unfortunately, this hot pot did not come with soup, but the collagen-infused hot lemon drink was quite tangy and refreshing. After the meal, they promptly cleared my plates and everyone had a lovely smile. The chef at the open kitchen also smiled back at me when our eyes met. Although I missed out on the window seat this time, I appreciated the healthy and beauty-conscious options like barley and collagen. They also have a loyalty points card and offer takeout service. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Lunch was light, so now it's snack time in the afternoon. The borscht here is delicious, but it's tomato-flavored instead of beet, so I'll pass and switch to a set without borscht from the hot pot set. The alcohol disinfection seat is placed further back by the window, which I appreciate. They serve a cup and a bottle of cold water, which I think they also pay attention to. I checked the menu thoroughly and decided on the variety B set which includes hot pot, piroshki, barley salad, and a drink (Russian tea). I chose the seasonal hot pot first. The barley salad is crispy and flavorful, and the lettuce is crunchy. The piroshki is quite soft, with a thick but filling skin, and a slightly tomato-like taste. The meat is flavorful and sweet. The salmon and bean hot pot has a skin with green tea and matcha, and a nice aroma. The salmon is delicious, with a hint of smokiness. The sauce is rich and there's a unique taste. The hot pot includes edamame, large green peas, mushrooms, and even pie crust, which adds flavor and allows for a fun combination with the ingredients. The Russian tea contains strawberry jam, honey, and red wine, and is quite sweet but enjoyable. The salmon and sauce from the hot pot stood out as particularly delicious. The seasonal hot pot alone costs 858 yen, but adding piroshki, salad, and Russian tea makes it a great value at 1188 yen. The yuzu-flavored hot pot I had at the Ueno store before was delicious, and this time the smoked salmon hot pot was also to my liking. The timing of serving and clearing the dishes was good, and the staff were experienced, with lovely smiles and flexible service. They offer barley, collagen, and other health and beauty-conscious options. Thank you for the meal!

I suddenly felt a strong desire to eat Russian cuisine, so I visited this restaurant that I could walk to. Personally, I think what Russia is doing is unacceptable, but that doesn't mean I won't eat Russian food. What fault does Russian cuisine itself have? It's like hating the sin but not the sinner. I wonder when was the last time I had Russian food? When I checked, it was in February 2019 when my wife and I visited a famous restaurant called "Kiev" in Kyoto during a short trip. That means it has been over 3 years. Surprisingly, the interval is longer than I thought. The restaurant is located in MyLord in Shinjuku, and the space is not very large. I arrived around 1 o'clock, but still had to wait for about 15 minutes outside the restaurant. There is a counter seat by the window at the back, which is convenient for solo diners. The view from there is not particularly beautiful, but it's okay. There are about six simple set menu options for lunch, and I chose option "E" (1,680 yen). The main dish is a choice of four types of hot pot, and I chose chicken and mushroom in paprika sauce. I also had Russian tea with jam in it. I didn't eat piroshki or borscht, which are classic Russian dishes, but that was enough for me. I enjoyed the meal and felt satisfied. I don't remember the details, but they seem to pay attention to the ingredients and you can also enjoy tea with the meal. It was a great experience after a long time. It's good to try something different from the usual on holidays. After that, I walked through Yoyogi and visited Meiji Shrine before returning to my room. I was reading a book and before I knew it, I fell asleep for a nap.

A Russian restaurant in Milord. They offer a set menu with piroshki and borscht, and you can also add pelmeni. The restaurant is not very spacious, with standard-sized tables and chairs. The service is average. The menu includes à la carte options, but the set menu is a good deal at less than 2,000 yen. However, it feels like they are cutting corners to keep the price low. The borscht has minimal ingredients, and the piroshki feels empty. The taste is not bad, but it's on the lighter side. It seems like they are struggling to maintain the balance between quality and affordability.

First visit in April 2022 (No.3560) After a long time, I chose this restaurant in Shinjuku for lunch related to an event. It is located on the 8th floor of Odakyu Mylord, so it is easily accessible from Shinjuku Station. It seems to have a history of over 15 years, but the operating company is unknown. When I visited around noon on a weekday, there were about 3-4 groups of customers already, and more customers were coming in like a light rain, so it was almost full. The service was good, but due to the impact of 'COVID-19', there seemed to be a shortage of manpower, so the response was a bit slow. For the main dish, I couldn't resist ordering the following set (bitter smile): Cutlet set 1280 yen + Tax with wheat and green salad lunch set. The amount of vegetables in the salad was moderate, and the crispy texture of the oil-free and seasoned wheat scattered on top was pleasant and delicious. The borscht soup is tomato-based, so the flavor of beets is weak, but there is a small amount of shredded beets on top, and it is served piping hot. The well-cooked meat slices are tender and the borscht with plenty of vegetables is delicious. The herb breaded pork fillet was surprisingly tender, and the combination of spicy Ajika sauce and sour cream was also a good dish. Butter rice with 16 kinds of grains - just hearing "16 kinds of grains" sounds good for your health (laughs). Russian tea 300 yen + Tax When ordering, I was asked if I wanted it hot or iced, which was a first for me, and it was served in a normal cup with jam already inside. It's a Russian restaurant where you can enjoy a lunch with a high cost performance and a sufficient amount, located inside Odakyu Mylord. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a while since I had dinner here. I wanted to eat borscht and piroshki, so I ordered a set with both for 1221 yen. The salad had a refreshing dressing with pearl barley, which was healthy. The borscht warmed up my body nicely. The large chunks of potatoes were good too. The piroshki had plenty of minced meat and was just the right size. It might be a bit small for men, but it was just the right amount for me. After the meal, I had tea with strawberry jam and red wine. I finished the meal feeling good. It's great to have Russian cuisine available directly connected to Shinjuku Station. I will come again.

The place may not be here, but it's great to see that the long-established Russian restaurant brand that I visited as a student (about 30 years ago?) is still thriving. Back in the days when family restaurants were popular, the excitement of tasting dishes like pot roast and Russian tea from a different country still lingers in my memory. Feeling a bit sentimental, I entered the restaurant. Pot roast, stroganoff, Russian tea... The menu items that make you want to order when you come here are available in various sets, which is great. Even if you come alone or in a small group, you can enjoy a variety of foreign flavors. I ordered the chicken stroganoff and pot roast set (with salad and drink). For the pot roast, you can choose from about four types, and I chose the seasonal "oyster pot roast". The chicken stroganoff is served on buttered rice with a mild stroganoff sauce that has a fragrant sautéed flavor. Compared to beef, the "chicken" has a lighter and less rich taste. The pot roast, unique to Russian cuisine, always excites me. Breaking the bread lid with a spoon and mixing it with the stew below while eating it... It's fun and makes the dish even more delicious. Of course, the stew with a hint of oyster flavor is gently rich and becomes more appealing in winter. The Russian tea with strawberry jam is perfect for the finishing touch. Today, I had a set menu for just under 2,000 yen, but the staff at the restaurant carefully timed the serving of each dish, saying, "To enjoy it warm." I was truly impressed by the hospitality of the staff.

Omu's Narrow Road Series After dining at the Odakyu Department Store's cafeteria, Omu headed to Milord. The goal was the Russian restaurant on the 8th floor. It was quite crowded as expected. I had to write my name on a board and wait. There were 6 groups ahead of me. The lineup of restaurants in Shinjuku's Milord was quite common, except for this one, which was a bit different. It seems that in a place with high rent like this, only restaurants with good customer traffic and profits can survive. I found a seat to wait. There were some menu items priced over 1000 yen, which was a surprise. I was tempted by the pot roast, but I also wanted to compare it with the piroshki I had at Fuchu's Pechka. After a 25-minute wait, my name was called, and I was seated at a 2-person table near the entrance. I ordered the One Plate Set (1111 yen), which included omurice, borscht, piroshki, chicken and vegetable hamburger, and salad. The atmosphere was cozy, with Russian music playing in the background. Most of the customers were women, but it was a comfortable environment. The One Plate Set was served after 6 minutes. The fluffy omurice was topped with a hamburger, accompanied by piroshki, salad, and borscht. The salad had a delightful texture and a flavorful dressing. The borscht was thick and rich, with a tomato-based flavor. The omurice was delicious, with buttery rice, bacon chips, ketchup, and a sauce with a hint of alcohol. The chicken and vegetable hamburger was savory, and the piroshki was soft and filled with minced meat. Overall, the meal was enjoyable and worth the price. The service was efficient and friendly. Milord may be considered a longstanding establishment in the area, offering a good value for a variety of dishes.
