I found what looks like a panda cheese hamburger at Paul Bocuse in Ueno Matsuzakaya, so I decided to buy it. It costs 793 yen (including 8% tax). It looks like a masked wrestler, but probably a panda. It's heavy and generously sized, yet surprisingly cheap. It was delicious!

I wanted to eat delicious ham, so I went all the way to Ueno to buy a set of high-end ham from a brand associated with the renowned restaurant "Paul Bocuse" in the outskirts of Lyon, France. The set included pressed ham, which was tasty with mayonnaise or as a filling for potato salad, and raw ham, which was delicious when paired with cream cheese on a baguette. While it may not have been as amazing as the Paul Bocuse brand, the hams were definitely above average in taste.

Purchased deli dishes at Ueno Matsuzakaya department store basement. Still scared of the threat of the new coronavirus, so I, who loves eating out, have been increasing takeout and ordering food. I have many chronic illnesses as well... Today, I stopped by the department store basement on my way to Ueno for a transfer to buy deli dishes. The deli dishes I bought are presented to my beautiful wife to earn points. The avocado gratin has a rich taste with shrimp and bacon. I also bought elegant stuffed bell peppers. As expected, they were delicious as always!

Chicken Tandoori flavor and Sharapin sauce are two of the meat and fish dishes with good value for money. The salad with ham, onions, and lettuce is satisfying despite being small. The average rating is 3.0, given in the range of 2.9-3.1.

Seri, nazuna, gogyo, kobera, hotokenoza, suzuna, suzushiro... January 7th is the day to eat seven herb rice porridge, right? Did you have it in the morning? At our house, we have it for dinner every year. Let's show some appreciation to our beloved stomach that worked hard during the year-end parties, New Year's celebrations, and heavy drinking. On New Year's Eve, I usually go to Seibu Ikebukuro Department Store to buy Moriyasu's roast beef. This time, there were about 5 people in line, but I was able to purchase it in about 8 minutes. The staff were busy but efficient and had warm smiles, which made me feel better. I bought block-type roast beef, which goes well with cheese and wine. I like both the delicate and the hearty roast beef. I chew it slowly and savor it, wishing it becomes a part of me. At Paul, they also sell delicate roast beef. I placed a somewhat selfish order for about 13 blocks. The sauces offered were Gravy and Yuzu-flavored, with Horseradish on the side. After eating soba noodles to ring in the New Year, I noticed the person next to me looking unsatisfied, so I kindly asked what they wanted to eat. They said they wanted to eat roast beef, so I happily served them, and we both enjoyed it. It was a day of eating from early morning to late night on New Year's Eve. Let's prepare for winter by storing up some fat.

I had been trying to conquer all the French restaurants in department stores, but I completely overlooked the French delicatessen in the basement. Upon researching, I found out that there is a Paul Bocuse located in the basement of Matsuya in Ueno, so I decided to go and check it out. It is located on the basement 1st floor of the South Building, directly connected to the Ginza Line station for easy access. Despite being named after the three-star French restaurant "Paul Bocuse," it was nothing particularly impressive.

On the basement floor of Ueno Matsuya, there is a delicatessen called "Boutique Paul Bocuse" by Itoham, which has its main store near Lyon, France. I purchased two salads for breakfast accompaniment. The first one is the "Marinated Whole Tomato with Orange Flavor", where the tomatoes are marinated with orange juice and covered with a jelly for visual appeal. It has a perfect balance of acidity and a hint of a good aroma. The second salad is the "Seasonal Fruit Salad with Kirsch-Flavored Melon", which consists of a mix of fresh fruits with a light Kirsch aroma enhancing the sweetness. Both salads were made with high-quality ingredients and freshness, providing a reliable and delicious option among the variety of deli items available at the department store.

On March 17, 2019 (Sunday) at 19:08 (as per receipt), I went shopping at Ueno Matsuzakaya B1. After buying a bento, I also purchased Roast Beef Pavé style 100g for 788 yen, total 1599 yen (including tax, as per receipt). By the way, here is my comparison with Tokyo Station Daimaru store (from February 18, 2018). The meat quality seems to be tough. (Daimaru store had softer and juicier meat). You can choose the Roast Beef sauce: Yuzu flavor or Gravy sauce. I chose the Gravy sauce, which was light and delicious.

I went to Ueno to eat Indian curry on this day. On the way back, I stopped by the basement floor of Ueno Matsuzakaya to buy some evening snacks. There are many shops in the basement floor, but since I am in the middle of body transformation, I was looking for something healthier. That's when I found the "Nuts and Root Vegetable Grains Salad" displayed here. I decided to buy it immediately. The price was also reasonable at 378 yen (tax included). But what is a Grains Salad? It seems that Grains Salad, which is becoming a staple of American breakfast, is also gaining popularity in Japan recently. A Grains Salad is a salad that mixes brown rice with vegetables and beans, which is healthy, nutritious, and easy to eat, making it perfect for breakfast. I see, perfect for breakfast. Well, I bought it for an evening snack. (^_^;) Sweet potatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, red onions, green leaf lettuce, spinach, quinoa. It's healthy, right? The dressing is delicious too, and the texture is good, so I want to eat it again. There seem to be other stores as well, so I will have it again. Thank you for the meal.

I always thought that Paul Bocuse was only available at Daimaru, but I was surprised to find out that they also have it at Matsuya. I have used their bakery many times before, but this was my first time trying their deli. They offer a wide variety of French deli items that are a bit different from other delis, with a touch of luxury. I decided to try a little bit of takeout. Pumpkin Salad with Raspberry Aroma, approximately 100g for 372 yen. The combination of strawberries and pumpkins was something new to me. The slightly sweet pumpkin paired with the sweet and sour strawberries and blueberries surprisingly worked well together. It tasted like a healthy dessert and was delicious. I apologize for the tilted photo, it doesn't make the food look very appetizing. Roast Chicken with Herb Mustard, 1 piece for 388 yen. The chicken was tender, with just the right amount of salt and a nice aroma. The prices are quite reasonable, and I think it offers good value for money. They also had diced roast beef that looked delicious.

I came to Matsuzakaya Ueno store on Ueno Hirokoji. It is a place where I often shop and return from the Ginza Line Ueno Hirokoji Station without going outside, entering the underground food market. Today, I purchased the Roast Chicken with Charapin Sauce (410 yen) at Paul Bocuse Ueno Matsuzakaya store. The chicken, marinated in onions, red wine, and soy sauce, and then baked in the oven, is the number one recommended menu at the shop. The thick chicken is tender, not as strong in flavor as expected, and goes well with bread or rice. Just warm up and serve the sliced chicken on a plate for a stylish dish. Sometimes, taking shortcuts is good too. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

<I tried the lamb hamburger with herb breadcrumbs> I decided to try the lamb hamburger since it was quite unusual. However, when I looked at the tag with the dish name, it said "Bitoke d'agneau". I always thought French hamburgers were called steak haché, so I was curious about what "Bitoke" meant. After googling it, I found out that it's a dish similar to meatloaf that was brought over by Russian immigrants during the Russian Revolution. The original version is made with beef though. It wasn't very lamb-like, but it was quite delicious. <Caramelized Onion Soup> The first few bites were tasty, but I started to get tired of it halfway through. I think it's because it's too salty.

The most popular deli shop in Ueno Matsuzakaya where my dad loves the roast beef. When paired with cut salad like in the photo, it's very satisfying. I think it was 810 yen per portion? I'm curious about the diced cut, but I still prefer slices. As a lover of lean meat, I always look for roast beef with minimal marbling, and this place is perfect for that! The German potato-like side dish is also great for snacking, so I end up buying a lot of it. I'm a lazy housewife. I can't cook at all. LOL Just putting it on my favorite plate is enough for me.笑

A legendary chef named Paul Bocuse, who won the Legion of Honor, has a delicatessen shop named after him. Operated by Hiramatsu, it is usually located in Daimaru Matsuzakaya department stores. My favorite deli item here is: - Roast Beef and Avocado with Vinegar Jelly (496 yen) Paul Bocuse's famous roast beef has a moderate amount of fat, with flavor seeping out as you chew. It is paired with smooth avocado and tangy vinegar jelly, creating a luxurious deli dish. Highly recommended for when you want to indulge yourself. When paired with a red wine from Burgundy, it should be a perfect match! - Pumpkin Salad with Raspberry Scent (345 yen/100g) A playful salad that combines the sweetness of pumpkin with the sweet and sour flavors of raspberries and blueberries. This salad tickles the hearts of berry-loving girls and can even be enjoyed as a dessert. If you aim for the last 15 minutes before the department store's food section closes, you may be lucky enough to purchase it at a discounted price. I have even bought it at half price in the past, so if you are at Daimaru Matsuzakaya before 8:00 PM, it's worth a try!

This is my first review of a deli. Ueno Matsuzakaya has been renovated. I went and noticed... it has become beautiful and easier to walk around. Yay! Yoshike in Okachimachi also got a nice renovation, so this area is fun. This time, I'm in the mood for Western food! I'm looking for a shop to buy salad. I avoided the boring shops that are in various places and decided on this shop that I saw for the first time! The shining roast beef at the storefront is amazing! (What about the salad?) I bought two types of salad. Burdock and chicken salad, and edamame and prosciutto potato salad. Of course, roast beef comes with horseradish and sauce. Both salads have a mild seasoning and are easy to eat. The edamame and prosciutto salad has a small amount of prosciutto, and since each slice is large, it doesn't stand out much. It may not be suitable for a mixed salad. I think leafy green salads would be better. For the potato salad, it would be better to have finely chopped meat, like roast ham, that can be mixed in. The burdock and chicken salad is creamy and lightly dressed, making it easy to eat. The roast beef is cubed, giving it a "Wow!" appearance. However, when eating, I think I prefer it thinly sliced for better sauce integration. The prices are not too high compared to other shops, making it affordable.

As it has become warmer, I decided to purchase deli items at Ueno Matsuya in order to have a picnic in Ueno Park. The location is on the basement floor of Ueno Matsuya, right near Okachimachi Station. This floor seems to have been recently renovated, giving it a trendy and clean feel. I purchased the "Mixed Set (648 yen)" which includes 3 chicken and vegetable rolls in a teriyaki style, 2 chicken drumsticks with a spicy seasoning, 3 asparagus wrapped in bacon, and 5 potato wedges. The taste is as you would expect. Additionally, I bought bread from Arles Laurent on the same floor, and drinks from a convenience store along the way.

I found Paul Bocuse on the basement floor of Ueno Matsuya. It is a French restaurant owned by Paul Bocuse, who has his main store in France. They have several branches in Japan as well. While I was walking towards Mihashi on the second basement floor, I happened to pass by and decided to buy something since I was there. They had a variety of side dishes, all looking delicious. They also sold bento boxes with meat. I purchased a salad with celery and ham. It had a light and delicious taste. There was also a burdock and carrot salad with sesame dressing. The sesame flavor was very fragrant. The other dishes were made with potatoes. Overall, each dish was well-seasoned and satisfying.

I have never been to Bocuse's restaurant. When I looked it up, I found out that they have locations in various places like Daimaru Tokyo, Daikanyama, and Ginza. It seems that they only exist in Japan, with a collaboration with the Hiramatsu Group. I haven't been to any of these places, but I have tried a dish called "Quiche Lorraine" from their selection. It was delicious, with a crispy crust and a gentle yet satisfying flavor. I think it's a timeless recipe that can be enjoyed even without modern conveniences or special ingredients. I look forward to visiting their restaurant in the future.

Paul Bocuse, a branch located in the basement of Matsuzakaya Ueno store, is a counter-style retail store. The display is brighter than when Matsuzakaya Minami-kan was there, making a strong impression. There is more energy than before. The French side dishes are well-stocked along with bento boxes! This time, I am looking for "roast beef." The quality is excellent for the price. If you are worried about cooking beef with various methods and making mistakes, it is safer to get a professional's work here. A great boutique!
