Negi Miso Ramen 940 yen
Rice 100 yen
I had never been here before, but I decided to visit the long-established miso ramen restaurant, Manbaken in Shinjuku.
Arrived at 11:40 and joined a group of 4 people.
You buy a meal ticket first. I ordered Negi Miso Ramen and rice. I handed over the meal ticket and lined up outside again.
As soon as some customers left, I entered at 11:44.
I sat down and realized that I forgot to ask for less noodles... Uh oh, I made a mistake...
While waiting, a female staff member brought a basket for our belongings and paper aprons. The chef was also friendly, it's a nice place.
First, the rice was served (the portion didn't seem too large), and after 10 minutes of waiting, the ramen arrived.
What is this?! A mountain of vegetables that made me think of Jiro-style ramen. The amount of additional green onions was amazing, but there were also a huge amount of bean sprouts and cabbage that I couldn't even reach the noodles.
The soup was creamy and had a white miso-like flavor, which I really liked.
I struggled through the vegetables, and when I finally pulled up the noodles from the bottom of the bowl, there was a large amount of chewy yellow noodles.
I attacked the noodles first because I thought if I took too long, I would lose.
The soup was so creamy, it was seriously delicious.
After finishing most of the noodles, I moved on to the vegetables. I was already quite full when the savior appeared.
That savior was the chashu. Putting it on the rice, taking a bite, and it melted in my mouth...
Delicious! While the taste of the meat lingered in my mouth, I quickly ate the rice in 2-3 bites, then poured the vegetable miso soup with the ladle.
I am aware that my eating style must have been quite messy, but it was seriously too delicious, I couldn't stop...
The rice was gone in seconds.
Oh, Manbaken, it was delicious.
Manbaken's miso ramen, a winning ticket!
