Budget: 5000-7000 yen Order: A la carte Duration: 1.5-2 hours Reservation: By phone Located just a minute's walk from Osaki, the shining sign of Koyou catches the eye. This place is known for its crispy harami (skirt steak) that everyone has seen at least once. Some say it's their favorite yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) place in town due to its overwhelming value, quality of meat, and seasoning. The addictive tan (tongue) and harami are a must with a side of white rice. Some say you don't need to order anything else besides tan and harami because they are just that good. The balance is perfect, but for some reason, the slightly sweet sauce and the simple but flavorful salt sauce are addicting. You can eat them as is or with a squeeze of lemon. The desire for rice with salt sauce is limited, making it a precious experience. The atmosphere is friendly and the prices are quite affordable. It was a bit quieter this day as the mother was not present. It's important to make a reservation at the right time because they fill up quickly. I will definitely come back. [Order Details] - Special Harami (salt): A harami with a good amount of marbling and a strong, flavorful seasoning. A must-try at Koyou. Even if you prefer sauce, I recommend trying it with salt once. - Tan: Thinly sliced tongue cooked until crispy on the surface, best enjoyed crunchy. Recommended to cook one side only. - Stamina (assorted offal): Salted! The items are ordinary, but the seasoning is genius, making everything delicious. Personally, I prefer the tripe and heart. Liver is average. - Chapchae: A surprisingly popular dish with a punchy seasoning that makes you crave rice unexpectedly. - Bibim noodles: I tried it for the first time and it was incredibly delicious. The balance of spiciness and sweetness is perfect. Drizzling vinegar on it for a refreshing finish is the best. - Komutan soup: It has a gentle appearance but a slightly bold flavor. Quite enjoyable.

I once casually walked into this restaurant before. I couldn't reach them by phone even though they require reservations. We visited on a Saturday when reservations were not available. My wife was determined to leave by 3:40 because they open at 4:00. It's just a town barbecue place, it shouldn't be that crowded at that time. As we walked away, we saw about ten people already lined up by 4:00. How rude of us. To our surprise, a staff member came out from inside and there were already people eating. What's going on? The contrast between the middle-aged lady who looked like she belonged in a town barbecue place and the two foreign guys who weren't very fluent in Japanese was quite unique. I recommend trying the regular cuts as well as the premium cuts like tongue and skirt. The generous cuts are great, this is how barbecue should be. We drank a bit, ate to our hearts' content, and it came to 21,000 yen for three people. This might make me not want to go to Gyu-Kaku or FUTAGO anymore.

★I revisited Oosaki for some delicious tongue. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered a smaller portion. I love the raw beef intestines here! They are fresh and the chojang sauce is delicious, so I ended up eating three servings. I prefer the gray intestines over the white ones...☺︎ Unfortunately, when I visited on a weekday at 8 pm, the special selection harami and regular harami were sold out. So, I decided to grill some meat myself and enjoyed the tenderloin. The tongue salt here is also great. It's crispy, juicy, and well-seasoned, making it irresistible for those who enjoy drinking. If it had a little less salt, I might have ended up eating more... It can be difficult to reach them by phone on the day of your visit, and if you go without a reservation, you may have to wait. However, the staff are all very friendly, making it a wonderful place worth visiting again.

Yamanote Line, 1 minute walk from Osaki Station. A highly praised yakiniku restaurant called "Yakiniku Koyo" where meat lovers flock. Weekdays you can make a reservation, but on weekends there might be a wait. I visited for the first time on a weekend and had to wait a bit. Here's what you need to know about Yakiniku Koyo: - It used to be a hidden gem, but now it's a super popular spot. - Don't hesitate to order the premium tongue with salt, and the special selection harami. - The unique seasoning will get you hooked. This is the restaurant that Terumoto Terakado refused to be interviewed at, and it will be featured in 2023. The high-quality meat has everyone talking, and it has become a popular spot for celebrities. - Assorted kimchi, premium tongue with salt, special selection harami with salt, special selection harami with sauce, premium kalbi, liver, and kalbi cup are all top choices. - You can't go wrong with any of these, but I highly recommend ordering the ones marked with ◎. - The junky seasoning pairs perfectly with white rice. Enjoying this meat with drinks and getting change back from 10,000 yen is an amazing deal. - There's no way you can go wrong with this place, and it's a must-visit spot where people boast about being regulars. The unique hospitality from the owner adds to the experience. - It's a hidden gem that's bound to become harder to get a reservation at in the future. Thank you for the delicious meal.

"Let's go to Koyama." This phrase is echoed by all the town's yakiniku lovers. Why do they say it? Because on weekdays you can make a reservation, but on Saturdays, you have to wait in line! The special selection Harami with sauce and salt is a must-try. The addictive flavors and the deliciousness of the meat will leave you wanting more. Of course, you have to eat it on rice for the ultimate experience. The tongue is also a must-have here, with its tender and crispy texture when grilled and eaten with rice, it's pure bliss. We also ordered various types of offal, all of them were fresh and brought the best texture and flavor. We also enjoyed several bottles of shochu, and the bill came out to less than 6,000 yen per person... Unbelievable. In that moment, everyone present thought, "Let's go to Koyama again." Thank you for the feast! - Ordered Menu: - Special Selection Harami with sauce and salt (limited availability) - 2,800 yen - Upper Kalbi - 1,800 yen - Upper Tongue with salt - 2,900 yen - Regular Tongue with salt - 1,700 yen - Kaenomi - 2,000 yen - Stamina with sauce (regular) - 2,300 yen - Liver - 900 yen - Rice - 300 yen - Assorted Kimchi - 1,250 yen - Cold noodles - 950 yen - Stone-grilled Bibimbap - 1,250 yen - Restaurant Information: - Yakiniku Koyama - 3-6-7 Oosaki, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo - 1-minute walk from Oosaki Station - Reservations available (not available on Saturdays) - Dinner: 6,000-7,000 yen per person - Cash only, no credit cards For more posts, check out @gourmet.des for exclusive restaurants, members-only establishments, and gourmet meetups. Yakiniku Koyo Osaki is recommended for those who love yakiniku and want to have a drinking party! The portions are generous, so going with 4 people allows you to eat plenty. The cost performance is great and everything is delicious, so you can't go wrong with any order! It's best to go on weekdays as you can't make reservations on weekends. Recommended menu items are Beef Tongue with Salt (2,500 yen), Kalbi (2,000 yen), and Beef Intestine Sashimi (800 yen) which I personally found delicious and would love to have again. Beef tongue is just the best! However, everything is thickly sliced, so I would prefer them to be thinner to enjoy more. The beef loin was tasty even though it wasn't my favorite cut, but the highlight here is the thick cuts, so if you like thick cuts, you must go! Overall rating for revisiting: ★★★★☆ It was delicious, I want to go again! Taste: ★★★★☆ Delicious! Everything is tasty so I recommend it! Thick cut lovers will definitely love it! Service: ★★★★☆ The staff is super friendly! It was incredibly delicious - be sure to try it out! ✨

Meat-loving YouTubers and Instagrammers, as well as stamp rally enthusiasts, have made a buzz about the yakiniku restaurant in front of Oosaki Station. The photos show that the quality of the meat is good. There doesn't seem to be a long line when viewed from the platform, so we decided to give it a try. They also have reserved seats available. It seems like you can walk in if there's a line. We were able to enter without waiting in line. This was a turning point for us. We were really lucky. However, the service was unfriendly. The staff's communication skills were lacking, with only about half the ability to converse. We overheard customers who couldn't enter saying, "They told me over the phone that I couldn't make a reservation, but now it's fully booked?" It's best to read the negative reviews on Google before going. We ordered the premium harami and upper tongue salt. They said the premium harami was sold out for reservations. It was fine for me, but the other customers who walked in without reservations seemed dissatisfied. The upper tongue was thick and of good quality. I think this is expected in this price range, am I the only one? There was no explanation of the different cuts of meat, and most people order the premium and upper cuts. It seems like hiring staff who can speak more Japanese would make everyone happier at this price point. The seasoning was heavy. Even though we avoided using seasonings while grilling, it made our throats very dry. We should have ordered rice. The next day, our throats still felt dry. The quality of the meat is good, so I thought it was delicious to eat it simply. People who gave high ratings might be addicted to the heavy seasoning, haha.

Thursday 7:30 pm. Reserved for 5 people. When I called to make a reservation, they said the seats were small, but we were seated at a table for 6. - Draft beer x2 (650 yen each) - Black bean makgeolli (2,200 yen) - Green tea highball x3 (600 yen each) - Raw liver sashimi (800 yen) - Kimchi assortment (1,250 yen) - Beef tongue x2 (2,500 yen each) - Premium skirt steak x2 (2,800 yen each) - Beef skirt (2,000 yen) - Chapchae (950 yen) - Small rice x2 (200 yen each) - Large rice (400 yen) - Cold noodles (950 yen) - Bibim noodles (950 yen) - Beef soup (1,000 yen) - Yukgaejang udon (950 yen) The seasoning was on the strong side, which I liked! Even with members who don't drink much alcohol, it was still affordable. We were quite full and it was a great deal. Thank you for the meal! Total for 5 people: 27,350 yen, 5,470 yen per person.

I made a reservation two weeks ago and was looking forward to it. The Tan, which I heard was exquisite, was even more delicious than I imagined, with the melt-in-your-mouth meat making me reluctant to leave. My personal favorite was the cucumber kimchi. The staff were all friendly, creating a great atmosphere that makes me want to visit again!

■Access 1-minute walk from Osaki Station on the JR Line ■Number of Visits More than 10 times ■Purpose Dinner with friends ■Overview A yakiniku restaurant located in a prime location just a stone's throw away from Osaki Station West Exit. The restaurant exudes a sense of populism and offers high-quality meat that is loved by local residents and businessmen alike. ■Menu The menu is mainly ordered a la carte. Most of the meat dishes allow you to choose between salt or sauce seasoning. On this day, we visited with 4 people and ordered the following: - Special Harami (salt) for 3 people - Upper tongue (salt) for 2 people - Mix (assorted hormones) - Kalbi marinated in sauce for 2 people - Medium rice - Chapchae - Yukgaejang soup - Draft beer - Highball ■Impressions A beloved yakiniku restaurant that I have visited many times. I had been neglecting this place for a while as I was focusing on exploring new yakiniku restaurants, but I suddenly felt like eating the meat here again and decided to visit. The specialty of this restaurant is definitely the special Harami. Recently, it has been said that the supply is decreasing, so it is recommended to visit and order early. The thick-cut Harami with beautiful marbling has an incredible umami flavor on its own, and when combined with the restaurant's original salty sauce, it creates a combination that feels almost like cheating. It's a dish that makes you want to keep eating rice, encapsulating the true pleasure of yakiniku. The upper tongue (salt) is also of very high quality, with the luxurious cut of the rare tongue base part. The garlic-infused salty sauce from the restaurant pairs wonderfully with it, creating a flavor that is addictive and makes you want to keep eating. I personally recommend grilling it until the surface is crispy. The side dishes such as Chapchae and soup are also delicious, and the taste, cost performance, and the service of the staff all contribute to making everyone you bring satisfied. I want to continue visiting regularly in the future. Thank you for the meal. ■Rating at the time of posting 3.55

Gourmet men and fishing enthusiasts went on a tour of town's yakiniku restaurants today. We revisited Osaki's "Koyo" restaurant, which in my opinion, serves the best thick-cut salted harami in Tokyo! Another satisfying meal tonight. Thank you for the feast! Looking for friends to join me for a quick lunch, cafe hopping, and dinner around Ebisu area. Also looking for ramen buddies and fishing buddies (lol).

★I had been curious about Osaki for a while. I called ahead on the day and was told, "If you come at that time, you don't need a reservation." It was full around 8 pm on a weekday, but I was able to wait a bit and get in 😊 It reminds me of the old family yakiniku restaurant we used to go to in the neighborhood. The menu is extensive, and even a single serving of meat is substantial. And the kimchi and side dishes are delicious! ◼️Today's order◼️ Napa cabbage kimchi, Chorogi salad, Korean cold tofu, beef tripe skewers x2, beef tongue salt x2, harami x2, kalbi x2, skirt meat, beef tendon, yukhoe, jjajang. The bill was around 20,000 yen. I love the greyish look of the beef tripe skewers, so it's my number one in Tokyo's beef tripe skewer ranking. The reason is that the chojang sauce is spot on. I wanted to pour it over rice... and I did. The beef tongue salt is also juicy and well-seasoned, with a light flavor that's just right. If it had a strong garlic flavor, it would be like the beef tongue salt in Osaka's Tsuruhashi area, but the quality of the ingredients is top-notch. In Nishi-Azabu, it would cost about 4,000 yen for 4 pieces, so considering the cost performance and the delicious side dishes, this place wins. I could talk about the deliciousness of Koyanagi for an hour. 😂 Unfortunately, the premium harami was sold out this time. The kalbi and skirt meat were also very juicy and delicious. I heard other tables saying that there's no other place like this in terms of cost performance and taste! Next time, I want to eat a lot of beef tripe skewers and tongue! They don't accept cards, so make sure to bring enough cash! Thank you for the meal! 🌟

A delicious yakiniku restaurant in Osaki! We ordered while waiting for our friends, as it takes a bit of time for the food to come out. When it arrived, everyone was ready. The sauce for the beef tripe and the miso are a must-try. We enjoyed dipping the meat in the sauce or eating it with rice. We ordered both premium tongue and regular tongue, and the premium tongue was definitely the winner. The special prime harami is also delicious, so be sure to try it. Personally, I prefer the salt flavor over the sauce here. I recommend the premium tongue and special prime harami with salt flavor. Thank you for the meal.

The meat was very delicious, but when I made a reservation and arrived, they immediately informed me about the 90-minute time limit. I wish they had told me when I made the reservation over the phone. Despite that, I ordered various dishes, but when it was time to leave, I felt rushed because of the time limit. It's understandable that there is a time restriction, but it's a shame to have to hurry while enjoying such delicious meat.

This was my second visit to Kouyou on a Saturday, where they don't take reservations and start serving from 16:00 on a first-come, first-served basis. I arrived around 16:50 and there were already about 15 people waiting, with me being the 7th group in line. We waited for about an hour and finally got seated. My companion wanted to eat squid sashimi, but many recent yakiniku restaurants don't offer it, which was disappointing. We ordered a kimchi assortment, chilled tomatoes, special harami, premium tongue, salt stamina, small kalbi, squid sashimi, and senmai sashimi. We had a variety of drinks including draft beer, makgeolli, beer, soju with Java tea, and black bean makgeolli. The special harami, which I had previously tried with salt, was also delicious when marinated. The service was excellent and we had a very enjoyable time. Thank you for the meal.

I often passed by this restaurant, but never had the chance to try it. I always loved the smell of the grilled meat and hoped to visit someday. I underestimated it a bit. I thought there weren't many good places to eat in Osaki. The meat was delicious and the prices were not too high. It was a great restaurant. The reservation rules were a bit confusing though.

I have been checking out Yakiniku Koyo for a while now. Today, my wish came true and I finally visited for the first time. I had already decided to order the tongue salt and harami. The photo shows two plates of tongue salt, one plate of zabuton, and one plate of special harami. The tongue salt was the best in terms of thickness, tenderness, and seasoning. The zabuton was huge! It had fine marbling and melted when cooked rare. The special harami was also delicious, with a crispy surface and juicy center. Moreover, they brought me an ashtray to my table near closing time after I smoked outside, which was a great service for smokers. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely come back again.

The thick-cut salted tongue is excellent, with a good texture and strong flavor that makes it very satisfying. The harami (skirt steak) also allows you to enjoy the true flavor of the meat. I went around 8 pm on a weekday without a reservation and waited for about 30 minutes to get in. I was very satisfied with the thick cuts of meat. Last time I visited on a Saturday around 5:30 pm without a reservation, there was a long line and I heard it would be a 2-hour wait, so I gave up. They open at 4 pm on Saturdays. The Makgeolli (Korean rice wine) I had wasn't very fizzy. Definitely better to make a reservation before going!

JR Osaki Station west exit. Reservations available on weekdays. No reservations on Saturdays, but open from 4pm. Closed on Sundays. It feels like there's already a line forming if you go at 5pm on Saturdays. I happened to get in around 8am on Fridays. By 9:30am, new customers couldn't get in. The harami, tongue, and liver are delicious even without toppings. A very skilled yakiniku restaurant. I want to go again.
