JR Ukima-Funado Station and turn left along the railway tracks. It is located past the Super Maruetsu. The interior of the restaurant is spacious with decent spacing between tables. The decor is predominantly red with a Chinese theme. I came to see the lighting of Ukima Park, but it was still bright, so I decided to have an early dinner before the place got crowded. When I arrived at 5:30 pm, there were only 1-2 other groups, and by the time I left, the restaurant was about half full.
Gyoza set meal (638 yen) includes 6 pan-fried gyoza, rice, soup, pickled vegetables, and almond jelly. The gyoza was on the chewy side, just a regular gyoza. The rice was soft and there was about a bowl's worth. The soup was made with egg, carrots, and wood ear mushrooms, nothing special. The pickled vegetables were delicious. The almond jelly had no additional ingredients and was homemade. Overall, it was "normally delicious" and satisfying for the price and portion.
The Five-Ingredient Noodle dish (825 yen) consisted of curly noodles with plenty of vegetables in a thick sauce. You can get a free large portion of noodles. The dish included Chinese cabbage, komatsuna, wood ear mushrooms, carrots, squid, scallops, and quail eggs. The noodles were delicious at first, but they became stretchy after a while. The dish stayed hot for a long time, making it challenging for those with sensitive tongues. It's great for those who like their food piping hot.
The Five-Ingredient Fried Rice (528 yen) can be upgraded to a large portion for an additional 110 yen. The dish included green onions, eggs, bacon, and two other ingredients. It was served loosely on the plate, with a spoon on the side. The soup was the same as the gyoza set meal, but this time with a ladle. It wasn't greasy and had a nice texture. A young child finished it quickly and still wanted more, so it's a good portion for elementary school kids, but men might want to opt for the large portion.
