"Always with my friend" used to appear frequently on Tabelog, but she is the type to thoroughly refrain from going out, so we used to go out to eat and travel together 2-3 times a month, 2-3 times a year, but now we have canceled that. The last time we ate out was at the end of last year. It's been 8 months since then. The day we can finally meet has come! This day is for an event that we are both looking forward to, even though it is not yet decided whether it will be held or not. The event that my friend, who is refraining from going out, absolutely wants to attend! [Harajuku Omotesando Genki Matsuri Super Yosakoi] It is being held for the first time in 3 years! But due to the corona pandemic, the scale has been reduced, with fewer teams coming from the original place, Kochi, and half the number of dancers. And on the day, it was rainy and chilly. In the past, we used to watch the festival in scorching heat that made us feel like we might get heatstroke. We met at Harajuku station at 10 am and headed to Yoyogi Park. Let's buy something at the food trucks that are parked there. Cheers with a fresh beer. The cheers we say as a greeting have a different weight this time. Cheers to the reunion. After enjoying the Yosakoi on stage at the park for an hour, let's move to have lunch. We chose "Tsukiji Tamazushi Sasashigure Omotesando Hills Store" for lunch. It is a sushi restaurant on the 3rd floor of Omotesando Hills, a 7-minute walk from Harajuku station. The restaurant was empty at 11:30 on Sunday, and we were the first customers. We were guided to a table by a foreign staff member. We had already decided what to order before entering the restaurant, so we decided without looking at the menu! - Omotesando Nigiri (with miso soup and organic vegetable salad) - Chawanmushi We both chose the same thing. We added chawanmushi for an extra 130 yen, of course! We ordered a medium beer, but personally, I thought, "Isn't this small?" Cheers again! My friend, who has been refraining from eating out, is happy to have a fresh beer after a long time. It's usually canned beer at home. The salad and chawanmushi were brought to us right away. I'm not sure about having salad at a sushi restaurant, but let's get some greens! The chawanmushi was small but had a delicious broth and was fluffy. The salad was a Japanese-style salad with bonito flakes. Then, the Omotesando Nigiri, consisting of 11 pieces, appeared. Both my friend and I have a similar eating order. We tend to eat the things we don't like much first. - Tuna Akami... glossy and beautiful deep red color. Smooth and silky texture, good throat feel. - Scallop... Sweet! Moist and soft with a rich sweetness. - Shrimp... Boiled shrimp. I like boiled shrimp more than sweet shrimp or raw shrimp at a sushi restaurant. - Greater amberjack... Low in fat, light and refreshing. - Squid... Uni is placed on small pieces of seaweed. The squid has a sticky texture and a strong sweetness, which goes well with the flavor of the uni. - Horse mackerel... A light dish. Not too assertive, with just the right amount of fat. Refreshing with grated ginger. - Salmon roe... Fish roe. I forgot to eat it before the seaweed got soggy! It's popping and bursting in my mouth. - Quail with toro... Toro gunkan with quail egg on top. The smoothness of the toro, the richness of the quail egg yolk, and me, who came from Tororo. Toro is the best! - Medium fatty tuna... Elegant fat. Not too heavy. It melted and disappeared in my mouth. - Conger eel... Soft and sweet conger eel. Eat from both sides and finish with the rice. It's really delicious. - Otoro... I don't particularly love otoro, but I always finish with otoro. There is a little bit of sinew left in the mouth, but the fat content is amazing. The chawanmushi was served in the middle of the meal. Miso soup with a good aroma of seaweed. Finally, we finished with a warm tea. The conversation with my friend was enjoyable.
