It's Saturday afternoon now. I've been feeling sluggish since morning, but managed to go for a 4km walk to do some shopping, then did some laundry, followed by yoga. After returning from yoga, I had lunch, did some cleaning, ironing, and now I'm finally having a little relaxation time. I'm starting to feel sleepy, but I still have a doctor's appointment in the afternoon and I feel like I haven't walked enough today. I'm wondering what I'm doing with myself. Anyway, as a change of pace, I decided to post on Eatery Log. I took some time off on Friday and escaped to Ueno Station in Panda Town. Ueno has many long-established Western-style eateries, eel restaurants, and delicious food, but lately I haven't been able to keep up with my desire to eat. I've also been cutting back on sweets, and it's been tough in many ways. In the past, I would have gone for eel, traditional tonkatsu, or old-fashioned Western-style food, but now it's a bit too much for me. So, I thought, how about a conveyor belt sushi place where I can adjust the portion size? Plus, I recently discovered a love for tuna, so a conveyor belt sushi place with delicious tuna sounds good to me. I have two monthly dates with friends (more like getting together as women, chatting about anything and everything over food) which are my happiest times. Being with female friends is so nice. Statistically, women with partners tend to live longer. I think having happy and enjoyable friends is what makes me happy. I enjoy being alone, living a simple and careful life, having fun with friends, working three days a week, and staying healthy. This is my ideal retirement. I don't want to inconvenience young people, so when I can no longer take care of myself, I want to peacefully pass away. Now, at 5:00 pm, we stopped by this place. My friend and I sat side by side at the counter. Depending on the time, there can be a long wait due to its popularity, but during the pandemic, it was quite empty at 5:00 pm on a weekday. And by chance, there were many women at that time. I had the specialty dish of medium fatty tuna battleship sushi (lots of it and satisfying, but with some sinew. A must-eat dish for 110 yen), ara-jiru (not much ara and a bit disappointing), three types of light sushi (thin toppings and a bit disappointing), tuna with truffle salt (with sinew and somewhat disappointing), and conger eel battleship sushi (so delicious! A score of 20!). I was mesmerized by a beautiful woman eating sushi in silence at the counter. Despite saying that I couldn't keep up with my desire to eat and that my body was exhausted on a Friday evening, and I was feeling worn out from work, I ended up going to two more places after this. I messed up (°∀°). Sunday -> No sweets Monday -> No sweets Tuesday -> No sweets Wednesday -> Ice cream after dinner Thursday -> No sweets Friday -> Went on a sweets binge Just so you know, today Saturday, I ended up having dessert after lunch as well. We're only human...justifying it to myself.
