Dinner at a popular restaurant in Furano for the first time. This restaurant seems to be known for its specialty lamb shabu-shabu. Last year, I couldn't find this place at all through online search, maybe because they didn't accept credit cards. This time, I found it as a restaurant where I could use local coupons. As a miles collector, it's most efficient to use local coupons at places that don't accept credit cards. I made a reservation over the phone and arrived at 5 pm when they opened. The seating seemed to be all tatami style, which might be tough for those with back pain. I ordered the lamb shabu-shabu set with additional lamb, pork, and vegetables. While waiting, the phone kept ringing with reservation calls. It seems that they are fully booked on weekends and sometimes during weekdays as well. The restaurant was almost full, with groups of foreign customers as well. When my order arrived, it was a generous portion as shown in the photo. The meat quality wasn't exceptional, but it was satisfying. I started with the vegetables, then alternated between lamb and pork slices. It was a shabu-shabu experience after a long time. I gradually increased the number of slices I cooked at once, enjoying the freedom of dining alone. Finished with ramen and their famous cherry blossom ice cream for dessert. The bill came to 3200 yen. I didn't order beef and didn't drink beer due to driving, but I still think it was good value for money.

I was planning to try Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) when I visited Hokkaido, but I found a famous restaurant called Sennari known for its lamb shabu-shabu near my hotel, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a set of lamb and pork shabu-shabu and enjoyed it! The lamb had a unique flavor of sheep but no unpleasant smell, and it was very delicious! It was especially amazing when I left a little pink in the meat while cooking it shabu-shabu style. The pork, as expected, had a stable umami taste and was delicious! *Make sure to cook the pork properly for shabu-shabu! For drinks, I had Sapporo beer and Furano wine ball. They were both delicious as expected... The Furano wine ball is a drink that tastes like red wine mixed with soda, and looking back, I realize it was enjoyable as an aperitif. *It's also delicious when paired with shabu-shabu! For dessert, I had ramen. The ramen cooked in a broth filled with the umami of the meat and vegetables was excellent as a finishing touch! As a side note, all of this cost me less than 2,000 yen per person. It was wallet-friendly and satisfying! Thank you for the meal!

Located just a 2-minute walk from Furano Station, this restaurant stands alone with a cozy rural atmosphere. The first floor has raised seating areas where you can enjoy a countryside vibe. The interior is simple and casual, so you can visit without worrying about your attire. There are no instructions on how to cook the food, so you may need to ask the staff or figure it out yourself. The dishes are not overly delicate, so you can just follow the order they are served in. Unfortunately, there was no hot water for dipping the meat, which was a bit of a miss. The frozen meat is sliced with a rotary slicer and served in hollow curls about 2cm thick. The lamb meat has a slight odor and a texture typical of frozen meat, but since shabu-shabu itself is not considered a complex dish, it's not a problem. The course includes an option for additional "one-bite rice balls," which are exceptionally delicious and tempting for seconds. The draft beer for 500 yen is a great deal, and while the course options are limited, the presence of vegetables and mushrooms provides a good balance. You can enjoy a reasonably priced "lamb shabu-shabu" experience here.

On April 4, 2023 (Tuesday) at 17:30, I revisited my hometown in Furano with my wife and children. It was a long-awaited reunion with my second son, who hadn't seen his grandparents since passing the university entrance exam. The next day, my second son would return to the Kanto region, so it was a day trip. We had dinner together and decided to head back to Sapporo, and we visited Chisei for that. We ordered the lamb shabu-shabu set for four and the pork shabu-shabu set for two. Furano's soul food, lamb shabu-shabu, was impressively delicious - the rich flavor of the lamb spread throughout the mouth without any unpleasant smell. We also enjoyed plenty of fresh vegetables with the shabu-shabu, making it a healthy choice. The traditional rice ball, "tawara onigiri," has been a favorite since childhood, loved by my wife and children as well. The ramen for the finishing touch was also delicious, and we left feeling full and happy. May we continue to create many more memories like this with our family in the future. Thank you, Chisei, for the wonderful meal!

First time trying lamb shabu shabu!! I was brought here by a friend who said it was delicious, and the place was packed. I was surprised that there was no sesame sauce, but instead a special sauce for lamb shabu shabu. You can add grated garlic, chopped green onions, and momiji oroshi to the sauce as you like. I was hesitant at first to add garlic, worried that it might change the taste of the sauce. But the sauce tasted good with garlic, so I added a lot and kept adding more condiments. The homemade cherry blossom ice cream was also delicious, with a sweet and salty flavor. The prices were as follows: - Beef shabu shabu set 1800 yen - Lamb shabu shabu set 1100 yen - Pork shabu shabu set 1100 yen - Homemade cherry blossom ice cream 200 yen

I went to Furano to snowboard. I stayed at La Vista Furano and decided to eat outside at night. I called to make a reservation for 8:00 PM on the same day around 5:00 PM. The phone service was great and made me feel good. The restaurant was about a 3-minute walk from the hotel. The town was quiet, but the restaurant was packed. It's a popular place indeed! I was glad I made a reservation. I ordered: - Lamb shabu-shabu set for 1,100 yen - Ribbon Napolé (juice) for 200 yen Additional order: - Lamb meat for 700 yen - Large rice for 300 yen I finished my first serving so quickly that I ordered more meat and rice. I had to wait a while because they were cooking the rice. While waiting, I started feeling full, and by the time the additional order arrived, I was already stuffed. I struggled to eat but lamb meat is quite heavy, and the rice was not good... it was hard and crunchy. That was the only disappointing part of this restaurant. Everything else, from the taste to the service and value for money, was really good. Next time, I'll skip the extra rice and go for pork meat instead.

Lamb shabu-shabu - I didn't know about it, so I thought it was new, but it seems like they have been around for 43 years! I don't remember eating lamb shabu-shabu anywhere other than at home when I was a child, so maybe that's why I didn't know about it! It's very delicious and surprisingly affordable. I want to go back to this restaurant again. The staff were also very friendly and nice people!

I ordered the lamb shabu-shabu set. It comes with a bite-sized rice ball and ramen, so I'm full. It's cost-effective. But most importantly... the ponzu sauce is not too sour, and when mixed with three kinds of condiments and lamb meat, it's delicious! I also enjoyed some drinks.

I spent time in Furano, Hokkaido. In the harsh winter where the temperature dropped below -10°C, we gathered around a hot pot to enjoy a meal together at a popular local shabu-shabu restaurant. Most people seemed to prefer choosing lamb for their thinly sliced meat for shabu-shabu. It seems that lamb is favored in this region known for Genghis Khan cuisine. When you lightly cook the thinly sliced meat for shabu-shabu to remove the fat, the tender meat feels smooth on the tongue and pairs well with the rich sauce, making it easy to enjoy with alcohol or rice. Above all, the prices were affordable.

I visited the restaurant on a holiday night. I made a phone reservation on the same day before visiting. The lamb shabu set is 1100 yen, which includes plenty of lamb meat, vegetables, rice balls, ramen, and pickles. It's quite a large portion, and I couldn't believe it was so cheap. The lamb meat has no unpleasant smell and is delicious. It's thinly sliced, so you're supposed to eat 2-3 slices at a time. It's refreshing and you can eat as many slices as you want. The sauce for the lamb shabu is a bit sweet and delicious, and you can keep eating while changing the flavor with condiments! Finish with ramen! It's quite reasonable and I was full. I also had a beer and it didn't cost me more than 3000 yen for one person! I would love to visit this restaurant again when I come to Furano. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant around 6 pm on a weekday and there were already 2 groups of customers. Since I had a reservation, I was able to get a table easily, but it seemed like they were fully booked by the time I left. My friend and I ordered the lamb shabu-shabu set for 2 people (1100 yen) and two glasses of draft beer (500 yen each). We also had some appetizers which cost 200 yen. The beer and appetizers arrived quickly, and we enjoyed them while waiting for the vegetables and meat for the shabu-shabu. The ramen was served later on. Even though I'm from Hokkaido, I had never tried lamb shabu-shabu before, so I was excited to taste it. The flavor was familiar to me as it tasted like lamb, but it was still very delicious. We continued eating while enjoying our drinks. The owner of the restaurant was very friendly and interacted with us, which was nice. After finishing our beers, we ordered a bottle of red wine (500 yen) which paired well with the lamb meat. We were quite full after eating the ramen, so we didn't order any more food and just had another glass of red wine to finish off the meal. The restaurant was very generous with their wine servings, and overall it was a great dining experience. I would definitely visit this place again when I go to Furano next time!

I had a very delicious shabu-shabu! I think there were several types of meat. I can't remember clearly because it was a while ago, but everything was delicious. There were plenty of vegetables, and I was very satisfied with the hot pot time. The ice cream for dessert was also delicious.

I have visited Senariya countless times. The first time I had lamb shabu-shabu was when I was in elementary school. You can eat to your heart's content for 1,000 yen. The price hasn't really gone up much over the years. That's why most people from Furano think it's more reasonable than yakiniku. The recommended dish is definitely the lamb shabu-shabu. The vivid color of the meat. Fresh lamb meat without any smell. It goes perfectly with ponzu sauce. They only open at night, so I can only go when staying at my parents' house, but I have many memories here since I was young. The taste of the vegetables, the finishing ramen, and the rice balls are all just like they used to be, which is nice. It's a place for precious memories of family outings after little league baseball games, gatherings after playing karuta, reunions with old friends, and returning home with my wife and children. The landlady always greets me with a smile, asking, "Where are you now?" as a greeting for me, a person who has moved around due to job transfers. How many more times can I bring my parents here? I've eaten shabu-shabu in many places as I've gotten older, but Senariya's lamb shabu-shabu is the most delicious in the world to me. It's an important place for me. Being able to enjoy Senariya's shabu-shabu with my wife, children, and parents is true happiness. Thank you for the meal~

Lamb shabu-shabu set for 1100 yen. Sapporo Classic draft beer for 500 yen. Furano wine (Rosé) for 500 yen. The total comes to 3750 yen. The lamb meat is very sweet and incredibly tender. It has no unpleasant smell. I usually eat Genghis Khan (grilled lamb), but compared to that, this lamb dish is incredibly delicious. It also comes in a generous portion. Very delicious and unbelievably affordable. The service is excellent.

Night in Furano, Hokkaido. Checked in and lay down on the bed, next thing I knew, I fell asleep. Let's go eat dinner. There's a shabu-shabu specialty restaurant called Sensho near the hotel, so I decided to make a reservation and try it out. Places around here close early. By 9:30 PM, they're already closed. The lamb shabu-shabu set is only 1,100 yen per person. Unbelievably cheap. We ordered three servings. This lamb shabu-shabu is so delicious. It's crispy and easy to eat. It's different from beef or pork. It's light and refreshing. I'm glad we made a reservation. It's a super crowded and popular restaurant.

You can eat beef shabu-shabu, pork shabu-shabu, and lamb shabu-shabu for 1800, 1100, and 1100 yen at this restaurant. The main advantage is that these three are cheap and served quickly, which is great. The lamb had a bit of a strong smell, so if you don't like that, you might not enjoy it. The portion size is quite generous, so even one set can fill you up. The draft beer was smooth and delicious (Classic). The wine ball had a strong aroma, but the taste wasn't really to my liking. Mixing it with carbonated water made it a bit vague, so I regret not just ordering it straight. Well, it's all about personal preference. Also, the combination with shabu-shabu wasn't the best. Beer goes best with it. The service was okay, but when I left the lid of the pot on the table, I was coldly told to put it down with the handle facing down. It would be better if they had a sign or a designated spot to easily place it that way. I don't want to nitpick, so I'll stop here. There is room for improvement. The restaurant is user-friendly, but I'm not sure why it has such high ratings. Google Maps' 4.5 rating seems a bit inflated.

Shabu-shabu restaurant in Tokyo with prices less than half the usual. On the second day of our trip to Hokkaido, we decided to try lamb shabu-shabu since we can have Genghis Khan at home. The prices were very cheap, and we ordered 4 servings of lamb and 2 servings of pork, which turned out to be a generous amount. The vegetables were beautifully arranged and we even got ramen to fill our stomachs. The homemade cherry blossom ice cream had a sophisticated flavor and was delicious. When we asked about the surprisingly low prices, they mentioned that they haven't raised prices in over 30 years. They said they will raise prices when the consumption tax goes up in October. It was a great value for about 1800 yen for the lamb shabu-shabu. Thank you for the delicious meal. We would love to visit again when we go to Furano. Sorry for the mess our child made with the drink spilling on the cushion, and thank you for calling us about the forgotten item.

It has been over 10 years since I first discovered the dish called "Lamb Shabu" which is not very familiar in Honshu. I was introduced to this restaurant by people in the skiing industry. Whenever I visit Furano, I always make sure to stop by this place. This time, I ordered the usual Lamb Shabu set, which includes lamb meat, vegetables, rice balls, and ramen for 1000 yen. You can also add extra lamb meat. On this day, we ordered 3 sets, 2 extra lamb meats, 2 soft drinks, 5 draft beers, and 1 cherry ice cream for a total payment of around 7500 yen. I hope to continue enjoying the same delicious taste in the future. I wish there was a similar restaurant near my home.

I was able to go to Chisei for the first time in a long time! It's a famous shabu-shabu restaurant in Furano that I've been going to since I was a child. In my personal opinion, it competes for the top two most popular restaurants in Furano. It's just so delicious! And cheap too! You can have a set of lamb shabu-shabu and pork shabu-shabu for 1,000 yen, and adding more meat costs only 600 yen. The set comes with vegetables and a rice ball. I've never had lamb shabu-shabu elsewhere, but the one here is very easy to eat without any strong taste. I've eaten here with a friend from Honshu who doesn't like Genghis Khan (mutton barbecue), but they enjoyed the food here. You eat it with ponzu sauce, and they bring three types of condiments: momiji oroshi, green onion, and another one. It's up to your preference, but I use all three generously! They will bring you more condiments as many times as you want, which is great. The ramen you eat at the end is exceptional, and the sakura ice cream has a refreshing cherry blossom scent. Seriously, you can eat anything here, so please go try it out! It's quite popular, so don't forget to make a reservation!

This is a sightseeing trip from Tokyo. I wanted to try the unique Hokkaido cuisine, so I searched and visited this popular restaurant. It's recommended to make a reservation in advance. We were seated on the second floor. We ordered lamb shabu-shabu and pork shabu-shabu to share between two people. Steam is rising from the hot pot. First, we put vegetables in, then the meat. We cook the lamb shabu-shabu without letting it go. It's delicious, with no unpleasant smell from the lamb. However, the amount of meat is surprisingly large. It may seem like a lot because it's rolled up, but it is actually a generous portion. Despite that, it's so tasty that we keep eating. The vegetables are also delicious, fresh and crunchy. After finishing the lamb, we moved on to the pork shabu-shabu, which also had a great taste without any odor. Looking back, we realized we could have ordered a double portion of the lamb shabu-shabu because it was that good. The meal also came with rice in a straw bag shape and ramen as a finishing touch. We were so full that our stomachs felt like they were going to burst. The staff at the restaurant were friendly, making it a comfortable dining experience.
