Exploring Tokyo gourmet! Shinagawa Ward, Musashi-Koyama edition. A must-visit hidden gem, highly acclaimed yakiniku restaurant "Wada" is a popular, long-standing establishment known for its delicious yet affordable grilled meat. Despite the strict no-photo policy and refusal of interviews, I revisited this eagerly anticipated spot with my industry gourmet friends for our regular yakiniku gathering in Musashi-Koyama. Located off the arcade shopping street near Musashi-Koyama Station, just before the Musashi-Koyama Onsen "Shimizu-yu," the white neon sign marks this hidden gem run by a stubborn artisan father and a strict proprietress. This is a yakiniku battleground where exceptional customer service is not expected. However, if you abide by the rules of the restaurant, a blissful dining experience awaits. A must-visit for yakiniku enthusiasts, this renowned and popular spot requires reservations in advance. Limited reservations, limited meat options, and menu items that can only be ordered at the time of reservation, with no additional orders allowed. Nevertheless, you can enjoy the finest cuts of beef such as loin, harami, premium tongue with salt, and top-quality skirt steak, which attract yakiniku lovers from afar. I, too, have developed a habit of frequenting this hidden gem of a yakiniku restaurant, known for its exceptional grilled meat at reasonable prices - the long-standing popular establishment, Yakiniku "Wada." Upon my long-awaited return, I indulged in a delightful assortment of kimchi, cabbage, oi kimchi, and kakuteki, each perfectly pickled with a delightful balance of spiciness and umami. The premium tongue with salt, grilled to medium-rare perfection, offered a tender and crispy texture with an incredibly delicious taste. The seared raw liver, lightly grilled to a rare consistency, melted in the mouth with a delicate and exquisite flavor. The special harami, ordered in advance, was expertly grilled to a crispy finish, showcasing a fragrant and juicy interior that was incredibly delicious. The top skirt steak, also pre-ordered, boasted a perfect balance of marbling, offering a moist and tender texture that was incredibly delicious. When wrapped in rice, the umami flavor intensified, making it even more delicious. The tegutan soup, ordered in advance, was flavorful, rich, and slightly spicy, offering an addictive and incredibly delicious taste. A must-try dish that will leave you craving for more! This yakiniku experience is truly exceptional and irresistibly delicious!
