This is a story about a lunch at Akasaka Lunch, a Japanese restaurant that opened on February 25, 2020, along Hitotsugi Street. It used to be a izakaya and teishoku restaurant called "Akasaka Hitotsugi," but it closed after only six months in October 2019. Before that, it was "Hara Hetta Akasaka," a Hakata motsunabe restaurant. I visited for lunch in early March. The interior was similar to the previous "Akasaka Hitotsugi," so it seems like a transfer. It was not crowded as it was before 1 pm. The menu included grilled conger eel seafood bowl for 1,200 yen, grilled fish (Kinu Saba and sweet salted salmon) for 980 yen with sashimi for 1,200 yen, simmered whole sea bream for 1,200 yen with sashimi for 1,420 yen, fried chicken for 900 yen with sashimi for 1,120 yen, mixed fry (crab cream croquette, white fish, chicken) for 980 yen with sashimi for 1,200 yen, beef kalbi stew set for 1,000 yen with sashimi for 1,220 yen, and assorted obanzai set meal for 1,000 yen with sashimi for 1,220 yen. Rice refill and large serving are available. Later, the seafood bowl was popular among female groups. I ordered the grilled fish (Kinu Saba and sweet salted salmon) for 980 yen. After an 8-minute wait, the grilled fish (Kinu Saba and sweet salted salmon) was served. It came with grated daikon, rice, and miso soup with seaweed and trefoil. The fish was small in size but had a good sear. However, it was a bit overcooked and dry. The miso soup had a strong dashi flavor and the right amount of saltiness. The trefoil added a nice touch. The portion of fish was small, so I ended up eating the rice with cucumber pickles. I should have tried the seafood bowl or simmered sea bream instead.
