I went to a restaurant called Kikiniku Meijin Wagyu Maru, located just 3 minutes from Ebisu Station. It's not yakiniku, it's kikiniku. Kikiniku is a dish originating from Kagoshima, and it's similar to teppanyaki with beef and vegetables, but cooked in a special pot. The pot has a flat surface with a round and shallow center. A4 to A5 rank kalbi beef, finely chopped cabbage, bean sprouts, and other vegetables are mixed together in the pot, creating a mound with a moat around it, then heated on a gas stove. The heat cooks the ingredients in the center perfectly without overcooking the meat. The special pot ensures that the meat stays tender until the end. I saw this restaurant on SNS and was interested in it. I went for Sunday lunch, but since it was a long weekend, or maybe it's not that well-known yet, there were only about 3 groups of people there. I ordered the special weekend lunch course, which is only available on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. You can choose between simmered meat and simmered sukiyaki, but if you go with two people, they bring out one pot (depending on the seating) so you may have to coordinate your orders or combine the simmered meat and sukiyaki. The taste was incredibly delicious! The A5 grade beef was amazing. The dipping sauce was also delicious. I felt a slight alcohol flavor in the ponzu sauce, so I ended up using the sweet sauce more, but it was delicious and paired well with the rice. The appetizers, soup, salad, and kimchi were also tasty, so I was very satisfied. The lychee sherbet for dessert was also delicious. Next time, I want to try various simmered meats, as well as the udon and risotto for the finishing course, at dinner. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Second visit and the sukiyaki-style grilled meat was unexpectedly delicious. The image is like a sukiyaki? It also came with a dipping sauce, which I really liked! I ended up staying for a long time from lunch... Of course, I chose the top-notch lunch! The quality for this price at lunchtime is amazing! I definitely want to try it at night as well. I went to Wagyu Maru-san, located right near Ebisu Station! It originated in Kagoshima, and I tried their unique Sukiyaki-style dish, which is only available here in Tokyo (?). It was super delicious! The special iron pot is designed so that only the heat in the middle is transmitted. This prevents the whole pot from boiling too much and making the meat tough. By gradually moving the surrounding ingredients towards the middle while eating, you can enjoy the slightly pink, tender meat until the end! It's like a cross between Sukiyaki and hot pot. You can enjoy rare beef like Sukiyaki, along with lots of ingredients like in a hot pot, creating a new and unique meat gourmet experience! It was so delicious when dipped in the sweet Kyushu sauce, everyone was eating eagerly. And the recommended way to finish the meal is to have the udon noodles, made into curry udon! Even if you order a course meal, it's worth paying extra to have it as curry udon! It was so delicious that I couldn't help but say, "I came here for this"! (It was my first visit...) They are currently offering a summer vacation special with 500 yen off all courses, making it very reasonable in terms of price! Thank you for the feast! I will definitely visit again!

Boiled meat??? First time trying it and I'm so excited! It's cooked in a unique pot where you slowly drop the meat into the center groove to cook. Underneath the meat, there are 20 different types of vegetables! And when you add green onions, that's 21 types of veggies in one dish - so healthy and guilt-free! To finish, I chose the black curry risotto. They make it right in front of you! The soup is rich with the flavors of meat and vegetables, and the curry is nice and thick. I love this dish!

The usability seems good. Even with the cheaper course, the portion size was sufficient, but there wasn't enough meat, so I added it to the pot in the photo. I went to Wagyu Maru to try their popular simmered meat dish. On this day, I opted for the course that includes the simmered meat and charcoal-grilled local chicken for ¥4,800. I also added a 120-minute all-you-can-drink option for ¥2,200. It was my first time trying simmered meat, and it was delicious with the meat melting in my mouth and lots of healthy vegetables. The meat was even more tender than I had imagined! It was great to enjoy the dish with two types of dipping sauces, ponzu and sesame. For dessert, I chose curry risotto from the two options available. The semi-private seating was very cozy. It's a wonderful feeling to enjoy warm food and drinks slowly during the winter!

I visited on Saturday at 6 pm, but the restaurant was empty! It was nice to have such a quiet atmosphere in Ebisu. I had made a reservation online, but when I arrived, it seemed like they had the wrong reservation. It was a bit disappointing to feel rushed. The appetizers and main dishes were delicious, and even those who tried the simmered meat for the first time enjoyed it! I would like to go back again for the taste! However, while we were still eating dessert, the staff kept rushing us about the bill and the time for the table, even though the restaurant was not busy. It was a big negative point. I understand that it's a set course with a specific time, but if they were a bit more considerate, I think they would be even more popular! I still want to go back, so I hope for improvements next time, giving it a 3.5 with hope!

The course included a three kinds of appetizers and Wagyu beef maru-chole salad. The appetizers were potato salad with Iburi Gakko, plum and shiso fried chicken, Chinese cabbage kimchi, and salad to start with vegetables. The expert Wagyu seared sushi was so melty and delicious, I devoured it with salt and wasabi. The sukiyaki half & half included expert Wagyu beef and Ego-Ma pork from Yamagata Prefecture, with a secret sweet sauce and special ponzu sauce to use as you like. First, slice the Kujo green onions and sprinkle them on top of the meat, then cook and eat the meat in order in the center. Under the meat, there are plenty of vegetables such as Chinese cabbage, red core radish, young corn, lotus root, carrots, mushrooms, etc., making it healthy and full of veggies. Kujo green onions really stand out, don't they? The sweet sauce is also delicious with vinegar, doubanjiang, ponzu sauce, and Gifu's Tokuyama chili pepper. For the finale, I chose the cheese risotto over black curry porridge, and enjoyed the mozzarella cheese risotto with plenty of cheese. For dessert, I had lychee sherbet and tiramisu ice cream to cool off. It was my first time eating sukiyaki, which was healthy with plenty of vegetables, and there are various courses to choose from depending on your needs. They also have a selection of wines and sake. There are couple courses and girls' night out courses that are super affordable, so I recommend going for a course! You can also order additional items with the course, so you won't be disappointed and it's incredibly delicious (*´꒳`*) I reserved the couple course available only on weekends. The cheese risotto at the end was delicious with a rich broth!
