In the midst of the bustling alleys of Shibuya, in what can be called the love hotel district, there is a spot called "Dougen" nestled among the many establishments. True to its reputation, it was packed with customers from early in the evening, offering reasonably priced cuts of Japanese beef, with shoulder loin being the main attraction. Among their popular dishes is the "ringo" (660 yen per piece), where thinly sliced meat is wrapped around an apple before eating. Today's order included two pieces of ringo, ripe harami, negi shio tan, white rice, and egg soup. Despite being a budget-friendly establishment with minimalistic decor and equipment, it seems to cater well to its location and clientele. - Date and Time: I made a reservation for a weekday at 7:00 PM. It's recommended to make a reservation about 2 weeks in advance as the restaurant is always full. The staff are a bit unfriendly, but it's nice that there is no time limit for dining. - Food: The noodles are delicious, but the meat options are limited to fatty meat or hormone meat, which may not appeal to everyone. The oil-based noodles without any toppings are unique, not too oily, and difficult to replicate at home. The salted thinly sliced tripe is a rare find and easy to eat. The thinly sliced apple-wrapped meat dish had mixed reviews, but I personally found it surprisingly good. The grilled shabu-shabu is slightly larger in portion compared to the same price without apple slices. The mixed platter was confusing as the different cuts of meat were all mixed up, making it hard to distinguish the flavors. Even when ordered separately, the price doesn't vary much. - Price: We ate quite a lot and drank moderately, spending around 30,000 yen for 4 people. It's not too expensive considering the quality of the marbled meat. It may be a good choice for those who enjoy eating marbled meat.

The cost performance of this yakiniku restaurant is amazing! It has a lively atmosphere with a town yakiniku feel. The lean meat in particular was delicious. The kimchi and the noodles at the end were also incredibly tasty. The only downside was that the air conditioning in the restaurant was weak, so it was a bit tough for someone who sweats a lot like me, but overall it was a fun experience!

A genuine yakiniku restaurant located in a backstreet to the right of the Dogenzaka intersection from the scramble crossing. In one word, it's an amazing restaurant that I really liked! The meat and other dishes were all delicious!! And affordable!! We mainly had horumon (offal), and every type was incredibly tasty. The kimchi assortment was also generous in portion size, and each type of kimchi was outstandingly delicious. We also had soup as a finishing touch, and it was also incredibly tasty. I am completely satisfied and definitely want to go back to this restaurant!!

I visited the famous yakiniku restaurant called Dougen in Shibuya, recommended by an acquaintance. The first recommendation was the apple dish. Located in the backstreets behind Dogenzaka, this place is a bit hard to find. The meat dishes were all delicious, but the standout was the "ringo" specialty. Thinly sliced meat quickly seared (3 seconds on each side) and wrapped with shredded apple that just melts in your mouth. The kimchi was crunchy and full of flavor, while the ponzu sauce on the melt-in-your-mouth motsu was a knockout. I can't remember the name, but the noodles at the end had a great chewy texture. Overall, I left feeling completely satisfied.

I visited again. Starting with apples tonight, moving on to shabu-shabu, carefully searing the meat but trying to eat quickly if possible. Despite being in a chaotic and exotic neighborhood, isn't the food very Edo-style? I would like to visit again.

I have been to this restaurant many times, but I always forget to take pictures because I have too much fun drinking. The best part is that you can put your coat in a garbage bag and eat. There is a cheap and delicious yakiniku horumon restaurant in the neighborhood of Maruyama-cho, about 7-8 minutes from Shibuya Station. The restaurant has a cozy shack-like atmosphere that feels like it could be in an old movie. It may not be the best spot for a romantic date, but it's great for couples. The ambiance has a strong Korean BBQ vibe. The lack of ventilation can make the smoke a bit bothersome, but the quality of the meat is excellent and the cost performance is great. The meat may not look extraordinary, but it tastes fantastic. I highly recommend this yakiniku restaurant. I'll head off to the next world now.
